Quote:Yep, gotta agree with this. I understood at the time that timing pressures meant that everything couldn't be done, but the fact that the process wasn't continued to cover all the other powers people can choose is pretty bad. That's my take.
And I'm sorry when I said it I deflated BAB's pride in what he had done, which was truly outstanding. But to wait more than one Issue for the Pools to be customized means that Power Customization is, IMO, a failure.
What good is it if I can turn my red primary powers green and my blue secondary powers green but can't turn my overwhelming Speed Pool powers from that hideous yellow to my thematic green?
More people take the Power Pools than any Primary or Secondary and thus, in a way, they become even more Primary. Or they should be prioritized as such.
Until Pool Powers are customizable, what has been done is a unfinished job. And if there was a definite timetable, I could be patient. But because it's unfinished with no definite plan to be finished... sorry to say it... it's just unprofessional. -
Quote:Ooooh. I'm not a badger (although my beard is starting to resemble one) but I do love collecting powers, but manage never to get around to getting the Accolade ones. I'll be all over this like Lady Gaga over an 'outrageous' costume choice. Also just posted a side-project to my Badge Reporter PopMenu, the Accolade Power Collector PopMenu. Track the Accolade Powers you have and learn how to get the ones you don't, right in the game!
Check it out in the Badge Reporter thread listed in my previous post.
Edit : Ought to mention here that I've also tested my own Menu system above and that choosing to hide toggles works perfectly and is a great way to hide shields and other toggles in the Team window, letting you more easily spot buffs and mezzes. -
Quote:If you pick Science you spend the first 6 levels of your primal heroic existence being thrown up on and eaten by zombies (until you decide "screw this and do a sewer run instead, and then the entire team gets eaten by zombies).Besides, apart from the origin power and which enhancements we can use what difference does our origin even make in the game?

Quote:I think it's much ado about nothing.
Just about every trailer in gaming history does what that trailer does--splicing together different parts of content.
By your logic every game trailer in the history of mmos lied to it's users.
Also didn't someone from PS basically STATE outright that they put it in there cause they thought it was cool. If they were really trying to be dishonest. then why on earth would they admit that outright?
Again, much ado about nothing.

Aye, I don't really see an issue with lowering it a bit. I remember when there was no delay people used to use binds to make it "strobe" between two cossies, which caused issues with server load, especially on any events. But making it 10 seconds is enough to prevent that IMO.

If you're talking about Elec/NRG Assault there's a few things which can help.
Don't bother with Chain Fences, Paralyzing Blast or the Fitness pool. Focus instead on having a nice collection of the unique Electrical controls along with everything from NRG Assault. This gives you the firepower to take things out one by one while they sleep.
Chain Fences is worth leaving off until the early 20s, its an aggro magnet and an End hog. The main benefit of it is the 50% to stop Recovery for 8 seconds (think it's 8). But personally I feel that's something that can wait until level 22 or 24 when you've gotten yourself a decent attack chain.
Paralyzing Blast is slot hungry (and slots are precious for a Domi) and/or needs frankenslotting with level 30 Acc/Recharge/Hold IOs to work really well. So I like to leave it off until I'm close to getting those. Take it at 24 or 30. The chief reason to take it at all is because you can do Domination -> Power Boost -> Paralyzing Blast on really tricky spawns with multiple bosses (end of mission spawns on a lot of newer content or on teams).
Between Conductive Aura (slotted with Acc and End Mod), Static Field (Acc, Recharge and an End Mod is how I've mine slotted) and Domination Fitness is unneeded. Domination isn't that much of a benefit for an Elec/NRG but the full blue bar it gives lets you skip fitness.
Drop Static Field from a hidden position if you can (usually doesn't matter but occasionally one or two members of a spawn won't fall asleep and will instead shoot you in the face). Once it's dropped and things are slept you can run in, hit Power Boost (a must have) and Conductive Aura will very quickly drain them for you. Hold a tough enemy (while Power Boost is still in effect) and then go to town.
While it is doing so pick off your foes one by one. Power Push is an amazingly effective power for you. Yes it does knockback but this isn't a bad thing. It's got some of the best DPA in NRG Assault thanks to how fast it is to cast, and it's very, very accurate. If you hit Power Push and then queue up a Bone Smasher you'll send something flying and the Smasher will also hit them. His is very handy. Follow up with Power Blast and then another Power Push.
I use this method to sleep an entire spawn and then pick them off one by one, sending them skidding off down the road, possible stunned and with another volley about to follow them up to finish them off. If enemies wake you can hold or Jolting Chain them to knock them off their feet and give the sleep a chance to retake hold.
All this is advice up to around level 25 from personal experience. After that is a grey area for me, and personally I'm not looking forward to how the Gremlins might screw up this strategy of "divide and conquer" with their Damage Auras and love of running after anything which is knocked back. -
Quote:Good post!I argue they have none of those. That has not been the picture of Praetoria shown to me from playing the Going Rogue content.
The entire planet has been vastly depopulated by upwards of 50 years of the Hamidon Wars. A disproportionate number of these have been the super humans. We never see it stated explitictly, but Praetoria the city (NP, IC and NU) is likely the largest stable settlement of humanity left. Other cities exist, but I don't get the impression they're back on their feet yet and able to commit troops or resources.
No matter what arcs you take, Praetoria is still in upheval when you leave. The Resistance is still going, the people may be rioting when their Enriche was cut off, the new zone events suggest further mass protests, etc. Also, the Emperor may be counting on Maelstrom to provide him with key info about Primal Earth, but anyone who's done the missions with him in it can tell he's about three bullets short of a full clip.
Really, Praetoria is the side with the severe disadvantage; all it would take is one strike team to go to Praetoria and blast a hole in the miles of undefended sonic barier (or threatening to) to throw them into total chaos.
.
But aren't you assuming that there actually IS anything on the other side of the Sonic Barrier? I mean we only have Glorious Leaders word on it. -
Quote:Pffft, no it'd be more like that alternate world in the Simpsons where Ned Flanders is the total and unquestioning Ruler of the entire world. If she believes what she posts she'd evolve into the worst kind of evil. A fanatic. It's only a matter of time before she'd start imposing her personal ideal of morality on everyone.
Sounds a lot like Emperor Cole when you think about it.

It looks like it's being extended again. The mysterious European Support has been and posted that it's taking longer than usual.
He's also posted that it is now complete, but is never clear if he means just the 4 EU servers or the NA ones too. From experience once he's said that ther's usually another 2 hours of Maintenance to go. -
Quote:No. Pets are pushable by all people. End of line. Not only is it absurd from a visual standpoint, including Robotics and Demon Summoning, it really isn't necessary. Not only that, but I'm pretty sure you couldn't alter critter collision boxes in real time, anyway.
Now, if I could shrink my Giant Domesticated Rikti Monkey... I might consider it.
* Sorry Sam, you're wrong here. Pets are not pushable by anyone. Certainly Demoos and Bots aren't anyway. I'm speaking from personal experience from 2 nights ago where some Demoos in a doorway meant I couldn't get in myself, no matter what. (maybe it was a case of too much for me to be able to push, but it's still not working as a solution)
Get rid of all PC/Pet collisions is what I'd like to see happen, it already happens between the pet owner and his pets, expand it to any ally of a pets/pets master. -
Quote:"Sir our scouts report there are only 2 defenders left, they have retreated onto a hill made up of the corpses of their former colleagues"I would love to see a poster mockup for this.
One thing did kind of make me chuckle with regards Emperor Cole's plan...
Huge Battleship: Spoilers: Incoming, no refuge!
He mentions that he'd take down the Mediport grid and thus it'd be a matter of days before eventually his army would succeed by grinding the heroes down.
1) Some people CAN self-revive Marcus...Fire/Dark/Regen scrappers/Tankers/Brutes can all get back onto their feet without need for the mediporter, infact with Fire/Dark it makes them stronger than ever for a few moments. Regen Scrappers can always just wait until Revive kicks around and then revive straight into a MoG.
2) Anyone with the ability to revive other people...there are lots of them.
3) Howling Twilight...that is all.
Though I would like to see the shock on his face where he wittles down a massive group of Paragonian/Rogue Islanders only for the last one standing to fire off Howling Twilight...then all the superheroes get back onto their feet, dust themselves off and get ready to go again.
"Excellent. Make preparations to finish them off"
"Wait! Why did they fire the Oil Slick arrow at their own feet?"
*Howling Twilight*

Quote:Ok I can slightly understand the rant about Kin (although I think you're wrong about a Kin MM being fail) but Rad? What???
Radiation and kinetics is even more epic phail since you can not give your pets any recharge bonuses anymore.
When was +recharge even a major factor for a Rad? AM gives a 30% boost to Recharge. After that nada. Rad would be silly-powerful on a MM even if the pets can't have their 30% (or whatever it would end up for a MM, 22%?) recharge buff.
Quote:I've seen my Demons gain Accelerate Metabolism. They turn into machine guns. Then they usually pull aggro and die. :/ -
No, that's about right I'm afraid.
I had this myself, very few times was I able to run an entire Zonal arc in Praetoria, especially if I joined a team or two as well.
If you stick to soloing you can have the opposite problem, where you can completely finish an arc and still be too low, but at least in that case you can start another arc in the same zone, or just join a team for a bit. -

Just FYI, I've confirmed that using the Hide Toggle command hides any and all toggles in the Window concerned.
Makes these pretty useful for cutting out the spam you don't really care about in the Team Window. All you see are durational buffs and debuffs. -
Quote:Of course you are dear.I always make sure my henchmen are in the clear and not blocking any doorways or otherwise preventing teammates from getting through. I'm like the only Mastermind in the game who does this.
I wouldn't mind pets being made walk-thru-able by players, City of Demoos was a nightmare any time I was in Widow mode a few months back.
Not so fond of the idea of being able to shrink them though. Although toddler-sized zombies could be amusing. -
The Xmas special features Michael Gambon (yay) and Katherine Jenkins (eh?). As in the opera singer Katherine Jenkins?
Gambon better not be playing Scrooge.

My 3 ex-Praetorians are all dealing with it in 3 different ways.
My Broadsword/Fire scrapper used his second build to fit Stamina in at 22 (my usual thing to do). So he's waiting on i19 in order to regain the powers he had to sacrifice for Stamina at 22.
My Fire/Dark Corrupter has skipped it, but is feeling the pain so she's on hold until the inherent comes along.
My Elec/NRG Domi skipped it but doesn't need it anyway. He's the one I'm playing most and when it does come along it'll be freespecced in but remain unslotted bar the initial slot. -
Quote:Are you changing your Avatar every 20 seconds or something Mac, you seem to be regressing through all your older ones today? The only reason left to not proliferate Sonic to Masterminds is that they already have Thermal, which is better in almost every way.
Or maybe I'm going slowly crazy. -
Quote:Not as consistantly as Je Saist is, unfortunately.Yeah be much better if you got the closed beta invite Mac..then you could post some more 'wah wah they broke pvp' threads maybe? She admits she was confused..get over it. Guess you have never been wrong.
And certainly not whilest also making comments like this beauty, possibly one of the most delusional things I've ever seen posted. -
So that if you decide you want to run a Posi or Synapse you'll definately have Stamina, Hurdle, Health and Swift available to you, along with a few extra powers you'd normally put off until the 20s (because you were trying to fit the Fitness pool in).

Quote:Hiding Toggles isn't. So hopefully these macros let you do that.It already has GUI. These buff options are exist for Pet and Team windows as well as for your health bar
Oh course they might be set just to hide your toggles, making them pretty much useless on the Team and Pet menu (except for toggly melee sets maybe). -
Been messing around with these, haven't verified the Team & Pet hide toggles but the rest seems to work. Linkies. Not a total solution but hopefully a helpful GUI for removing some of the spam from the Team Window.
If you prefer not to bother with the pop menu you can just create a floating power-bar and populate it with the following equivalents.
Code:/macro "Def" "optionset buffsettings 0" /macro "Num" "optionset buffsettings 1052688" /macro "Aut" "optionset buffsettings 1118481" /macro "All" "optionset buffsettings 1250067" /macro "Self" "optionset buffsettings 19" /macro "Team" "optionset buffsettings 4864" /macro "Pet" "optionset buffsettings 1345184"
