He's also posted that it is now complete, but is never clear if he means just the 4 EU servers or the NA ones too. From experience once he's said that ther's usually another 2 hours of Maintenance to go.

do we seriously need one, or sometimes eleventy bajillion, of these threads every week? maintenance is always on thursdays people. it CAN take longer then the 2 hrs if need be. deal.
Well, that's all fine and all,... but what i'd like to know is , Why do they have to take down the Message Board servers at the same time they take down the game servers ?

IIRC maintenance is to apply windows security updates and stuff (yes they use windows Server OS). I believe they also defrag (though I could be wrong), restart the server to clear out junk in the ram.
Your character does not have capped defense. Depending on your AT the cap is between 175% - 225%. Your defense is not teal in the combat window, it can go higher. STOP SAYING IT IS CAPPED! The correct term is Soft Cap.
I enjoy playing in Mids. I specialize in Melee Characters, other AT's usually bore me.

So if maintenance involves the log in database it means access to both is disabled.
