for som reason the slots on AM havent copied right i had put down 3 recharge 3 end mods

Nah, I just misread em I think.

So we're both right (except for me )

Le sigh. European forums really are dead. Do so wish I could post on the US forums instead.

Nah, its just very few play sonics really.
  3. AM doesn't really need too many End Reducs. Can you slot it with Enddrn (or End mod as they are now) to provide some extra pre-stamina Endurance boosting?

I'd give Short Circuit some recred too. Once i7 kicks in it should be a valid soft control again for bosses so the sooner it recharges the better. I'd go with 1 acc, 3 End Drn and 2 recharges in it if you had the slots.

Never had that problem on my Earth/Storm.

Run Steamy mist, hurricane and SS all the time, with 3 slotted stamina and 2 end reds in mist and hurricane my end doesnt move even if I spam powers like theres no tomorrow.

    [/ QUOTE ]

This is pre-stamina with training endred enhancements

    [/ QUOTE ]
You'd be pushed to fit Steamy Mist & Hurricane into a pre 20 build if you're going for Stamina & a travel power anyway given their from the secondary set.
  5. Dark blast is grand but the last few powers are sorta rubbish. Torrent and Life Drain certainly are. So theres a bit of a lull in the 20s in its development. The damage isn't too bad with a nice early snipe and you've got the lovely Tentacles & Night Fall combo. I went with Kinetics as a secondary. Siphon Speed gives you great manuvering abilities for laying down the cones, you tend to "joust" the mobs a lots, running in to Tentacle, back for Nightfall and then in close again to slap a heal off. Lots of fun.

A dark / kin corrupter is a support char but Siphon Power & Snipe with scourge does lovely damage.
  6. Empaths mean you can let your hair down. My two current flavours of the month are a Kinetics Defender and a Fire/Rad controller. If theres Empaths on the team I can focus on buffing and debuffing and controlling or sapping. If theres an empath with me I'll happily charge into the fray to bring out the pbaoes. And an Empaths auras are gods gift to a level 25 Kinetics defender without stamina.
  7. I'd go with Fire / Storm too for the fun of Fire Cages > Freezing rain with maybe a snow storm and/or flashfire thrown in for good measure. With the -knockback of cages you can use Tornado and not have it aggro the entire map too. Plus stacked -accuracy from Smoke & Hurricane. And all the knockback under the sun if you take Bonfire too.

Although Grav / Storm would be pretty cool too, but without the Knockback control of Fire Cage(s). Good single target damage though, esp at lower levels.

Opera is getting Bit torrent support very soon if that helps to whet your appetite, it only take 2 seconds to install:

One of the things that attracted Firefox to me was the Torrent support, but it kept crashing my computer, despite the Torrent plug-in being compatible with the FF version I used. I eventually gave up all hope of using the Torrent plug-in.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I've never tried the Torrent plugin on Firefox but it is my second browser. I actually hide the IE icons on all the people in here in work (I'm the IT munky) and on anyones I know so they won't use it, its that bad.

Opera is supposed to be getting little "applet" style plugins itself with the new version. But its packed with a lot of the goodies you get with the firefox plugins, like RSS support, email client etc anyway.

Yes I am on a Crusade. Maybe I should make a Browser inspired hero...

    Dear lord, no.

IE comes with every Windows computer. It's called a monoply and is typically abusive.

If you can't be bothered fair enough but I reserve the right to call your computer pox ridden at any time. Personally I just think a single tab browser is so 1990s. Especially one that can't even resume its downloads. And its too slow to render web pages. Pah.

Oh and Opera is getting Bit torrent support very soon if that helps to whet your appetite, it only take 2 seconds to install:

It is too late for them. Anyone using IE has no soul. And is probably riddled with virtual pox

    Opera FTW!!
  11. Pro : You can solo very well
Con: You probably will have too. Many other ATs in villains don't like teaming with MMs and even fewer are happy with 2 or more MMs on a high level team. Just from the sheer confusion of lots so many pets
  12. For the secondaries I find just holding off a day or two and thinking of the char as you walk home or whatever helps. Empathy is fine but you may find yourself inventing a little past and background for your char and deciding that another secondary suddenly fits which can be really satisfying, even if no-one else even hears about it (I'd never told anyone Maloths history before this thread)
  13. Mind or Earth are considered the strongest control sets for pure control. Mind maybe has the edge but no pets. Earths "Mr Poo" isn't a great pet though.

Fire has strong "hard" control (the mobs can't do anything) but no real soft options like Fears. But Fire does good damage.

Grav does good single target damage and ends up with good control but its comes relatively late with their pet.

Illusion has good damage and the best opener power in the game probably in Phantom Army. The soft control of Spectral Terror is excellent too.

But I tend to end up being concept affected too. Carni was is a demonic imp from some charming hell dimension (her people are primative cave dwellers but not inherently evil. Generally they end up being the ones involved in the truely evil demons experiments, usually terminally). So Illusion / Storm seemed to suit her.

Maloth is alien tech reactivated by Nemises so Fire/Rad seemed to suit the idea that Nemises cobbled him back together with Steampunk tech and his powers are more to do with leaks from his power core and overloads / internal pressures than anything else. So I went Fire / Rad with him
  14. You're right about attacks, you don't really need them at all. I took one with my Necro/Dark to pull enemies around corners into a Tar Patch and my waiting goons before ganking them. Also its handy for if it all goes horribly wrong and you're left alone.

Robo/Dark is considered the strongest combo I believe. Dark is certainly very powerful and works with any primary really.
  15. How about Mind as a primary. Sure it has no pets and is control heavy but theres a few single target holds / confuses plus the AOE sleep. Sleep is alright when soloing since you should manage not to wake them up.

For secondary I'm not sure. Psi has the recovery power at 20, you could Sleep a bunch and hit them with that, recharging off them as you take them out one by one. But that power works best with more enemies affected so maybe not...
  16. I always get both. Mostly for concept really as the +stealth bits don't stack as far as I know.

The Defense / Dmg Resist bonuses do though.

    My last "contributions"

A player I met in Atlas, I found him interesting so I made a fast sketch of him

    Soul
    Don't know his/her name. He/She sent me a screenshot of his/her toon... I was a bit inspired
What do you think of it ?

Woh. That last one is scarily good.

You're probably getting millions of requests at the mo but if you get bored / stuck for inspiration My band of misfits. Internetless at the mo so I'm afraid I can't upload some better shots.
  18. Ta guys. I had started this build before and Shadow Maul & Smite were the two opening attacks I went with. At that stage (about level 6 or so) there was a noticable wait for powers to recharge. I love Air sup anyway, even my Kinetics defender has it, so I reckon thats going in to fill the gap. Siphon Life is certainly on the list too to keep me running.

Haste I think I can live without, my attacks are pretty quick to recharge anyway. Maybe Elude would benefit from it but thats miles away at level 38.

Agrred on the name, and now ont my opinion, a mastermind with no pets or "blasterminds" as they're also called seems to me as a weak [censored] version of a corruptor.

[/ QUOTE ]It's a consept thing, corruptors can't get all the same sets

That, and some people like playing out of the norm.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yep, for instance Animal_Mutha has an interesting concept planned.

A blastermind strikes me (as RPer) as cruel for your henchmen. Basicly you're using them as shield and you don't allow them to fight back properly. Of course concept-wise I can still see it working. "Guys, I'll take care of this. Just stand back and give me some covering fire." (Which is what defend-option will cause them to do anyway, but lack of enhances will minimise effectiveness.) You, as leader of the gang, have to keep up your reputation to your minions I guess, so this tactic is viable as concept.

    [/ QUOTE ]
From an RP point of view its a bit like an action movie with you as the hero and the minions as the extras. Like Desperado or something (although hopefully your minions won't pose in an open fire-corridor and get mown down) In movies the hero is always the leader attacker with both guns blazing and his helpers closely behind attacking his targets.

So I see this as an "Action Hero" version of the MM. Or to use the Star Trek analogy you're Captain Kirk, the minions are the red shirted Ensign C. Fodder and Ensign D. Meat. Kirk doesn't lurk behind as the red shirted guys die, he gets in there and manfully rips his shirt before seducing any female (regardless of species) within a 50 mile radius.

    Scene in Transporter Room:
    "Who are you?"
    "Jones sir. I'm from accounts"
"why are you wearing red? We're all wearing blue. Look theres a target in the middle..."

    (Eddie FTW)
  20. Cool. Ta guys.

With Stamina too its gonna be a tight old build, but 3 slotted Health will be useful to me too. I'll redo tonight and try and bring in for broadcast tomorrow.
  21. Hi all,
So the next toon I'm planning (may be a while but what the hey) will be Dark / SR I think. Did my build at home but my dog ate it sir.

    So couple of questions:
Does Dark Consumption mean I can do without Stamina? The defensive toggle powers will all have 1-2 end redux in em

What sort of attack chain should I be going for? The build had way too many attacks in it (all primary bar the Taunt I think plus Air Sup). I was thinking of dropping Air Sup. Shadow Punch and / or Shadow Maul

Builds most welcome too. I'm not much of a meleer. My Spines / Dark scrapper I renamed the Glass Landmine due to his tendency to explode violently followed by faceplanting. This single target based build might be a better move.

Illusion doesn't have AOE Containment inducing powers

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Well there's still Flash, right?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Yep but its PBAOE, slow to recharge and really its not worth it compared to the other sets and their immobilse / sleep AOEs.
  23. I think Rad works better with Illusion. Your Decoys benefit from debuffed enemies but can't be buffed themselves. Illusion doesn't have AOE Containment inducing powers so Fulc > Fireball at 41+ isn't as powerful as with other Controller sets and Rad adds two more hard control powers to your arsenal via Choking Cloud and EMP Pulse.

Also the Illusion pet does knockback and Kinetics doesn't work well with Knockback.
  24. Flaming death munkies of course.

I cannae wait to have my babies.
  25. Agree completely on me hurting for lack of skewer. Freespec will be switching Hotfeet to Skewer for sure

But with a Fire Dom and a Fire Controller currently on the go I have to say that Flashfire is up pretty quickly in terms of almost always having it available as an opener. The short duration is annoying though I agree. Really the hard controls do suffer until you pack em with SOs compared to the few slots some soft controls need (I've only had direct experience with Spectral Terror but what a great power).

I'd say Fire works much better as a Controller primary really thanks to Containment and a secondary that gives you more survivabilty.
