Started my very own Mastermind, need tips.
I have lots of tips! But they're mainly in my Guide to the Modern Mastermind.
PvP-wise I'm a pushover in Sirens Call (even in a group) but pair me up with another MM or a Corruptor in Warburg and I'm an unholy terror.
Only thing that I can't really touch is a Granite Armoured Tank/Brute. On the other hand I'm sure that'll change in I7 and not sure if for the better or worse...
Time your force bolts so the bolt will hit them just as they are reaching their feet again, hit them too early and they just get straight back up, which sucks.
Try to make a build which has no attacks, may be annoying in fsreeroam when ur heading to a mission. But on the good side this leaves space for you to get other powers and buffs that will help out more than one more two atacks. And make sure you know which powers ur getting, it can be real annying when u get the wrong pwoer and screw ur build up.

Iv taken down a stone/stone tanker before but not a brute!
Thing is my pets are melee so i can stand back, my pets stop Heroes/Villains getting to close and if they do i run around like a headlees chiken till my Lich or Dark Servent hold or immob the sucker
Iv never made a Robot/FF MM before so i cant help with those powers but all i can say is the same as others, CHOOSE POWERS WISELY, and immobs are you best frined
P.S with I7 i prob will make a Robot/dark MM
I have created a guide for Bots/FF in the guides section that you might want to look at.
There are some things to consider:
1. Attacks or no attacks - I favour a none attack approach however some like to play a blatermind who picks all the attacks from their primary.
2. Solo or team - this is more to do with your pool powers, do you want to go team orientated to provide extra support or do you want to concentrate on soloplay and just get the powers that can be used when not in a team. An example of powers are vengance and resucsitate both of which help teams out but neither of which are usuful to a solo MM.
3 Stamina - this is a choice that depends more on your secondary than anything else. DO you want stamina for a /ff MM I dont think it is needed but for ones such as /dark then it is a possibility.
Thanks for all the answeres so far, still trying to decide what i want to play as, its not easy :P
Anyway, could anyone post their opinion on the pros and cons playing an mastermind?
I haven't got one *very* high yet, but I can sum it up thus:
Pros: You own at PvE
Cons: People complain about you being so good at PvE
Pros : You can wade in and tear down through missions. You'll survive great since mobs go for your henchies first (just don't make the mistake of attacking first, lett the henchies go first).
Cons : Boringly easy. I've stopped my MM at 33 because it's just too dull even at the highest difficulty. Soloing is fun at first but pretty soon you'll be wanting teams just for the added danger, something to keep you awake, eh?
Point, click, dead. Point, click, dead. She's pretty much my most powerful char but I can fall asleep. Guess Bot/Dark was too much. A Ninja/Trick Arrow should remove all dangers from falling asleep ^^
Pro : You can solo very well
Con: You probably will have too. Many other ATs in villains don't like teaming with MMs and even fewer are happy with 2 or more MMs on a high level team. Just from the sheer confusion of lots so many pets

make friends with some people on CoV then make an MM then just team with your friends
Bah! ARAD SF/Story Arc sessions regularly have 2 or 3x L40 Masterminds and assorted others!
Nothing wrong with multiple Masterminds in our eyes!

Yes but were special and know where the true power lies dont we Zap
Onlt got mine to lvl 18 so far, but I have gone down the no attack route.
I did try taking attacks in a few I played to lvl 10-14ish, but these soon got deleted.
As a Bot/FF MM I find that I can keep myself busy and alive by attracting no aggro, and having both shields by lvl 4 helped me in the early stages.
Anyway, first time I've posted a build, but here's mine:
1. Battle Drones (1.Acc)(3.Acc)(3.Acc)(5.Dam)(5.Dam)(7.Dam)
1. Force Bolt (1.Acc)(11.Acc)
2. Deflection Shield (2.Def)(7.Def)(9.Def)
4. Insulation Shield (4.Def)(9.Def)(11.Def)
6. Equip Robot (6.End Dis)
8. Assault (8.End Dis)
10.Hover (10.Def)
12 Protector Bots (12.Acc)(13.Acc)(13.Dam)(15.Dam)(15.Dam)(17.Heal)
14.Fly (14.End Disc)
16.Personal Force Field (16.End Disc)(17.Def)
18.Tactics (18.ToHit Buff)(19.ToHit Buff)(19.ToHit Buff)(33.End Disc)
20.Aid Other (20.Recharge)(21.Heal)(21.Recharge)(31.Heal)(31.Re charge)(36.Heal)
22.Dispersion Bubble (22.Def)(23.Def)(23.Def)(36.End disc)(39.End Disc)(40.End Disc)
24.Repair (24.Recharge)(25.Recharge)(25.Recharge)(40.End Disc)(40.End Disc)
26.Assault Bot (26.Acc)(27.Acc)(27.Acc)(29.Dam)(29.Dam)(31.Dam)
28.Maneuvers (28.Def)(33.Def)(33.Def)(34.End Disc)
30.Stealth (30.Def)(37.Def)(37.Def)(37.End Disc)
32.Upgrade Robot (32.End Disc)(34.End Disc)(36.End Disc)
35.Grant Invisibility (Sorry, stealth bots, can't resist, any suggestion for a better power in here lol)(35.End Disc)
38.Force Bubble (38.End disc)(39.End disc)(39.End Disc)
Anyway, up to lvl 18 so far, but any constructive comments appreciated, and I hope this helps you also.
Started with an Mastermind, needed a break from playing as an hero all the time.
My skill sets is: Robot/Force Field
And of course i've just started to use Master_Zaprobo great keybinds
Anyway, i wonder if you fellow masterminds have any tips on how to play the class?
And i also wonder how dose the mastermind do in pvp? can i kill anything at all? and what dose Issue 7 bring for us?
