Quote:(SEE ALSO: Vigilance)Gauntlet does nothing to help while soloing, only teaming. Blaster Defiance was changed for a balanced potential when solo and when teaming. Gauntlet could use some of this balancing.
Quote:My suggestion is to make tankers have a bar much like Brute Fury, but instead of a damage buff, a bonus to secondary effects of your attacks (either duration or chance, that would depend). -

Quote:Well, then, pipe down. "Don't introduce convenience features because I'm philosophically opposed to using them but lack the strength of will to live up to my own beliefs" isn't a valid argument against.I am as fond of convenience as everyone else I am afraid. Just as I am fond of chocolate despite the fact that it is not good for me.

Don't use them, then. Keep tracking down your contacts to buy your inspirations if you prefer the inconvenience. Other players' desire to save time isn't going to be your problem unless you make it your problem.

I'd say /bug that, because it's clearly Bad and Wrong behavior. If they don't want you overlapping the things, the vendor should just tell you to sod off, not take your non-money and give you nothing.

It's crap. The Stig said so! Some say that he's never wrong about this kind of thing.

Quote:The problem with Giant Monsters in the starting zones is that really-low-level characters don't have many tools with which to handle something like that, even with "levelless" foes. That's proven to be a pretty significant hassle with holiday-event monsters and zone invasions over the years; even if the enemy cons, say, orange, if it's a huge pile of hit points with a number of attacks and all you've got is the first two tiers of your primary and secondary, you're not going to accomplish much. You end up with a horde of higher-level heroes coming down to deal with it, since lowbies just don't have enough firepower (or defense, come to that), and there's not a lot of point in making more of that, IMO.And also maybe we can have monsters trying to invade and destroy Atlas park/Galaxy city or other zones.
Quote:I mean havin rikti span on a larger area would make atlas seem more of an invasion battlefield
Me, I couldn't really care less. I've never particularly liked the invasions and wish they would go away entirely, not get bigger and louder. -
Yeah, one does kind of damage one's credibility as a spokesman for Evil when one quotes Dark Helmet. I mean, this is a man whose evil minions couldn't even design a Helmet of Evil with an evil mask that he could wear without evilly suffocating.

Quote:Well, all I'm saying is that there'd be more to it than "just" reducing the opacity of the front bit of the Tech Helm.I know, hence the bit about needing to add more options to include Face and Hair. I'm quite certain inside the current full helmets is a blank space.
I'm not sure the proportions would actually work out - oftentimes in comics you'll see a character with a full helmet that, if you do a little math, can't possibly have an actual human head inside it, and it wouldn't surprise me at all to learn that the early Full Helmets models are similarly misproportioned. They could be revised to accommodate character heads, though that would suddenly and arbitrarily give everyone who's already got a Full Helmet a Giant Helmet Head, which would probably cause some outcry.
That said, a new head set (a la Half Helmets, which, IIRC, weren't in the game at launch) with full-enclosure helmets that have a head inside them would be cool. A lot of work, I suspect, but cool. I've often thought it'd be nice to have some proper spacesuit parts available, for instance, and something like an Apollo-Skylab A7L helmet would almost have to have such a design.
Something for JLove's costume thread, perhaps. -

To be fair, I've always wanted this for one of my characters. Or rather, I've wanted it back, since (apart from the auto-fire part) that's what Radiation Emission:Fallout used to do way, way back when. What it does now is much more useful, but there's just always been something I love about the idea of my containment-suited radioactive hero exploding in a nuclear fireball when he takes too much damage.

Quote:There's a reference to this practice in Remembrance of the Daleks that confused the stuffing out of me when I first saw it (because that was on PBS in Maine and I didn't know anything about UK television law at the time).no, ownership of a TV in the UK means by law you have to have a licence as they still have the ability to recieve the signal from the BBC.

That last bit is often, often, often requested, and as all of it deals with costume textures it's probably better directed to Jay's costume request thread over in the Developers Corner board. I think the skin thing is a good idea, though. I wanted to make a robot cop the other day, but the Short Official sleeves come pre-equipped with human biceps and elbows, so his uniform had to be not quite right.

It's too bad that cell phones are killing off the pay phone, though. You may sneer, but it's a different story when you need one and they're all gone.

Uh, Crim? I think you're thinking of Charles Manson.

Quote:A couple of times. They're not very impressive - think of the things from the old Star Trek episode "Operation - Annihilate!", if you remember that one, and you're basically there. (Though there's one in Remembrance of the Daleks that's frisky enough to try strangling somebody. It doesn't get very far with the job before being bludgeoned to death with a softball bat, but at least it had ambition.before this new series, were the Dalek ever shown out of their robot/tank thingies?
