Get a */Dev or two to lay down the mines that I see alot when I do KHTF. Maybe Two Arch/Dev blasters to lay down mines then shoot of a dual RoA on the spawn straight out. Wont be much left after that I wouldnt think. Some Son and Rad blasters will also debuff her def and resist. (Would the caltrops from devices work on keeping Mary pinned down (maybe with some other immob too). Just thinking out load.

Quote:Let me first say, that you are preaching to the choir. I would even love two autoable powers, but then again, I want that so I could exploit that. More on that in a second. How can allowing all toggle powers to be "autoable" be used as an exploit?
You talked about wanting Hasten and Practiced Brawler. Neither of tose is a 'toggle power'. If they wre a toggle, you would click on it once and it would stay on. But to truley answer your question, let me explain how its exploitative.
I get on my emp defender and get on a 8 man team. I could target the tank or aggro-person and turn heal other on auto. Put the person on follow and now I can take a nap.
You can do that now, but the problem is that you are not being anywhere near as effective as someonte that was truely playing.
But if I could also put RA and Fort on auto too, then I really would not ever need to do anything but sit and watch. Maybe auto toggle up one attack too. Then i can target the tank, have him auto-heal, auto fortitude, attack his target occaisonally with my atack, and throw RA around whenever its up. -
I have been able to team alot more. I have teamed with a bunch of mid-20's on a low 30's character and only lost a power or so and STILL got XP and kept leveling. I was 'hurting AND gimping' myself to get on that team.
ToT teams are TONS easier now. Just go to PI and get on a team. As long as a 50 leads it, you dont have to worry about mentors and stuff.
A lot to love with SSK. The only downside was not being able to "bridge" which made the last 2XP weekend the least effective to date, but that is understandable. I will get MANY more lvls out of ToTing anyway. -
I am even logged on with my laptop at work, though i am not actually playing. Just logging in to check on some characters. Can't wait to get home later.

Quote:Not only will they have set bonuses and possibly accolades, they will also have two more powers. (the +5 thing) which is a big improvement over a true starting lvl 2 character. This gives them possible access (if they chose them) to pick Tier 3 primary and secondary powers, plus they may have tier 1 or 2 pool powers. Just saying. Also, not explicitly mentioned so far, that level 40 who is exemplared to level 2 will have the hit points and damage of a level 2 character. So they won't be mopping the floor with anyone. They WILL likely be tougher than a 'real' level 2 since they probably have accolades to boost END or HP and may have IO bonuses that they get to keep. But they won't be doing much mopping.

Quote:Good Stuff! Making this really boring day of work a little more enjoyable.
Not a list, but you might want to check out PS238, by Aaron Williams at Do Gooder Press. It's a comic book about metahuman children (and one non-metahuman boy who really wishes he were someplace safer) in school. The archive starts here. -
My main and 'self-character' Captain Sammy was originally a inv/ss tank. Started slightly after launch. Very survivable but damage stunk. Got it up to mid 20's. Back then defense caps were the same. Scrappers could get there, tanks just got there quicker. So I rerolled as a dark melee/invul scrapper (because its a punch set) and RP'd away the 'dark' part of it as a toxic reaction to the substance that made him 'super'.
THEN they put reduced scrapper caps and stuff in. Now, especially with IO's, he is still pretty killer and I would not think of changing him now, but if I was restarting the game over today, I might remake him as Willpower/SS or MA(with punches substited)/Willpower or something like that. Maybe. -
The ice/storm controller who in high school got out of alot of tests by sneaking over to the principals house early in the morning and getting school called off for the day due to ice/fog/snow. (Ok not as good as yours, and definately not as well written)

Almost 60 months here.
Never done a Shard TF.
Never got a villian over 25.
Never got a blaster or tank to 50 YET!
I have 5 50's and 50 overall Virtue Heroes. -
This is why I love this game and these boards and this community.
-
I seem to remember having a spreadsheet someone made or posted online that listed the amount of XP for each level, and how much base xp you get for even con minions and such at every level. Does anyone have it or know where to find it again.

OK my final results for the weekend. 60 million on my fire/kin (influence made mostly from defeats with only several rare salvage drops and selling the common IO recipes to vendor).
My level pacts that got leveled
Mister Molten (fire/fire scrap) and Mrs. Magma (Earth/Therm troller) from 16-18
Volcanico (stone/fire tank) and Pyroteen (fire/rad troller) from 9 to 16
Gunnsteinn (ice/mace tank) and Cryoteen (cold/ice troller) from 10 to 17
Bobby Bolt (Elec/elec tank) and Sara Tell (arch/elec blast) from 8 to 21
Adam Amp (elec/elec scrap) and Vicki Vine (plant/therm troller) from 16 to 19
Infernal Heat (Fire/axe tank) and Jake Pulse (FF/Eng defend) from 1 to 15
Buckeye Brawler (MA/Shield scrap) and Justice One (AR/dev blast) from 14 to 22
Nick Awesome (Shield/Ice tank) and Hot Steele (Traps/AR def) from 4 to 15
So that looks to be about 130 total lvls, which sounds impressive, but they were all in the lower levels. -
I have had a few hours each night and did behemoth runs, but with SSK I think I may hop off the tractor more since farming is less productive. Which is ok, because I now have most of my low characters up to at least 14-20 where they can start participating in TF's.
Well I have two accounts and all my low characters pacted.
Got one pact from 8-10
Got one pact from 1-15
Got two pacts from 14-21
Got a couple other pacts from 8-14 or so.
So no MAJOR accomplishments. Not a single purple or mega drop. Got a few rare salvage. But got some prestige from those low alts playing. Now I just need some inspiration on how to decorate those two empty large decorative rooms I have. -
Looks like hanging with the 'best female friend' is off tonight so I will have 4-5 hours to put in.
Yesterday I was off, but hung out with her most of the day. I did dual box a few behemoth runs. Got one lvl pact from 1 to 15, another from 1 to 8, and one pact from 8 to 16.
But I am always torn. Should I use my lvl 50 fire/kin to farm and dual box with one member of a lvl pact, or should I run low missions with two low pacted characters (lvling 4 characters at once, but not getting the high end influence and recipes). Oh well, will see tonight I guess. -
I play Virtue exclusively and am on VU2009. I see team broadcasts in channels and globals alot lately (even before 2xp weekend). I have logged into characters to check auction slots or logged into a low alt to dual box a mission or two and every time I do, I recieve tells for teams.
I have been turning down teaming with others because I do not want to join a team with my dual box follower (not really fair.) If I team like that it will be a team i put together.
But between I16 launch through wednesday, I have had no problems with teaming. I just do not get where the whine is coming from on this. -
True. The point is that there are a finite amount of things being placed and sold on Wentworths. Because of the nature of instanced missions, there is no limit to the amount of behemoths, freaks, etc. that can be 'arrested'.
-
That is a good point. Dual boxing a behemoth farm run does not hurt the profit-making of the other people who want to do the same. However, if someone has already placed 10 bids at 35,000 for a lvl 50 common IO recipe that will vendor for 75,000 and I come along and put in 10 bids for 41,000 (still not a bad profit) that MAY affect the profitability of the first guy. I say MAY because if he leaves the bids up for two days and my bids are filled in 4 hours and his bids still bet filled after, then he is OK, but there is potential for his 'niche' to be lost or made less profitable by my being there.
-
Well I was not going too, but since I will have the rest of the house to myself all weekend, I am going to try to get Saturday off. Hope the boss will buy it.
-
Yea your probably right. And since I have 50's and can make great influence that way, I am probably still going to run this out for a bit. We are short computers at work, so I have been bringing my own laptop to work on. While I would never do any fighting or missions or such at work, I CAN sneak on and check the markets. So its one way I can make influence even while working.
-
As a 5-year Virtuean, I do not understand the description of 'hellhole of teenagers'. From everything I have heard, that sounds more like Freedom. Virtue has a very large and stable population. Many great gamers run there because it is the 'official Roleplay server'. I will say, however, that sometimes a few in the RP crowd gets a little touchy with non-RPrs, and there is the potential for stumbling on some erotic roleplay. but oh well. THe people overall are great and there is plenty of teaming.
-
Oh yea, I know there are tons of great strategies out there. I do not take the time to do them, I usually get my influence from playing. I posted more for the lurkers and peeps checking the market forum. You know, the people always complaining about never having more than 20 million EVER. This is fairly easy stuff, at least the stuff I was using.
-
OK. I sell drops and roll merits and tickets and such. Now over a billion on my main 'bank' character. But I wanted to try a little experiment. I did not want to get into hardcore high-end flipping strategies, but wanted to try a few things from the forums here.
I took a lvl 27 on my second account that I knew I would not be playing. This allowed my 13 recipe slots and 15 auction transaction slots. THis helped. I started her with exactly 500,000 inf.
I did this last night after work. Spent awhile since I was new finding things.
Basically all I did was put low buy respectable bids on Common IO recipes (mostly lvl 50 and mostly less useful ones (snare and range and such). I also used lvl 50 set IO's that resell for $10,000 and can be bought for $1,000 or less.
I but in a full tray of bids, but because I was looking and exploring for the first time it took awhile and I had alot bids filled. So I ran a bunch and put more orders in. I ran my main for a bit and then before bed, I logged back in and ran my filled bids to the vendor and reloaded.
I logged in this morning at 9 am and did the same things. After cashing out and making bids I left the girl logged in and made myself something to eat. Came back and did it again. I just now logged into the character at work (dont tell the boss) and cleared out.
So in 24 hours approx and a few logons, I went from 500,000 to 3.8 million. Not bad for a days work.
Now I know I could make that in an hour or two farming with my lvl 50 fire/kin, but this was not intended to make me a billionaire, it was to show that a mid-lvl character who CANT yet make 1-5 million an hour can still make money on the markets if they so choose.
I did not even TOUCH buying and vendoring salvage.
Obviously the more people doing this make it less profitable, but it CAN BE DONE, if someone wants too. -
Quote:I have about 17 level pacts, and at least a few of them will get some hot XP lovin'.I have a couple level-pacts that are going to get some hot XP lovin'.
Been running TF's and doing normal stuff this week. Not doing any farming because I will probably do that all weekend. -
Well he is only lvl 16 atm, and that is not a problem on Positron, but before I would duo synapse I would wait until he is at least 25, so he would have those powers to use.
