Quote:Probably from here - http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=213578 .Where'd you get your power icons and inspiration icons?
(it just took me far too long to find that damn thread, eventually I had to dig through the posts by one person I remember commenting in it regularly since I couldn't remember who the thread author was..)

Got a code, PM'd Zwill here to swap it for one I can use (EU player, the codes on twitter are US, so as per instructions on Twitter, PM'd Z) and now waiting patiently for one that'll work for me
Mainly posting this as a reminder to any EU players who got a code to PM Z or Hit Streak on here in order to get the aura working on their account. -
Quote:4 rolls within Rarity would be 4 converters.I'm still feeling my way around converters- my lone foray has been picking up a confuse purple for 100m & turning it into an Apocalypse that sold for 250m. It took 4 rolls to do, not sure if that's a good ROI or not.
Each converter costs 250K inf, and either 10 Reward merits, 1/10th of an Alignment merit, 2/3rds of an Astral Merit or 1/5th of an Empyrean Merit. Or you find one as a random drop.
So, for effectively 1M inf and 40 reward merits (or equivalent other merit fraction), you increased the sale price on something by 150M inf.
Sounds like a good return to me, or at least a pretty damn reasonable one. <grin> -
Quote:http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/PermaI'm not sure what I need for Permadom, but I have 103.8% global recharge so I can't be far off.
Quote:Originally Posted by PargonwikiPermaDom - Domination needs a total of +123% Recharge- Unable to slot enhancements so it must all be buffs or set bonuses
If I'm reading right, another 6.2% global recharge and ED capped recharge in Hasten will get you permahasten and permadom.
Or, a thought strikes <clang!> you could be permahasten after 50, with a Spiritual or Agility Alpha and not need ED capped recharge in hasten, maybe?
Anyway, you seem to be picking up some momentum on this one a little faster than last time if I'm remembering right. Nice going -
Quote:Every bloomin' time I log into the game, my Stone/Fire is one of my core 3 characters.I mean, when was the last time you saw a Stone or Ice tank? They used to be relatively common, until a slew of powersets that were 1)Up to date with mechanics and activation/end costs etc and, 2) simply bloomin' better.
He gets logged on every time I'm on (mainly cos he's one of my marketeers), but he's also one of the three characters I've got who have the Leader badge.
(oh, and Stone has two resist based non-granite defences, Stone Skin (passive) and Brimstone.)
I know this is purely my opinion, but I don't have any problem with Stone armour at all. And I play it as a non-Granite scranker.
It has reasonable, layered protection (regen, resist to most, defence to most, a Dull Pain clone, mez protection to everything bar Fear, Endurance drain and recovery debuff resistance, perception debuff resist), can be IO'd to enhance that protection, and can pretty easily hit 45% psi defence, making it potentially massively survivable against mobs that can melt other armours (Carnies, Arachnos Fortunatas, IDF Seers etc.)
And if all that's not enough, then you can hit Granite and get big lumps of resist to go with your solid amounts of defence. But you need to be aware that if you do that around psi damage, you're in trouble.
Mobility limitations are a source of irritation to a lot of players, and Granite's penalties seem to annoy more players. I've long since gotten used to Stone and how it works so they don't bother me.
It's not a pick up and play set that can be easily mastered like 'set and forget' WP, Shield or Invuln, but it's not weak if the player behind it knows how to use it.
All IMO, of course. -
Quote:It's not always been terrible, but it has been for the last couple of years. No, it's always been that terrible, nothing has changed in that respect in the past 2 years.
My robots used to stand mostly at range and shoot stuff back in Issue 6/7. I'd occasionally have to yank one of them back to their firing position, but generally I could keep them at range, and out of the way of the melee characters on the team.
Nowadays, I don't even bother, because the only reliable way I've found to keep the idiotic things out of melee is follow/passive <sigh>
Fire Imps used to be predictably psychotic, but now they're just psychotic.
There's a reason all of my pet using characters have the + key on the numpad bound to /release_pets, and have done since Issue 4 <grin> -
If you are leading a trial and you know it backward, then a *very* useful command is :
Code:Adjust the 0.7 as appropriate for your display settings/screen size/eyesight./windowscale scriptui 0.7
(/windowscale costume 0.7 is a good one too)

On my phone ATM, so this'll be brief.
The main thing I expect is that people be able to read, interpret and follow league chat instructions.
The most important thing after that is that they know how to play their character in a team situation.
Trial/league play is massively different to solo, and to me at least requires different priorities.
I may expand later when I've got a proper keyboard available. -
Looks to be a bit of an end hog of a set, but I'll reserve judgement on that until I get to play it
The most interesting bit to me was Regrowth.
I'm not sure if anyone else has noticed, but it appears to be using the Vorpal Judgement targeting mechanism, in that it's a cone with a Target:self, so it'll fire wherever the camera's aimed...
That could make life... 'interesting' in more hectic environments. -
Quote:You have :PI think I've asked this before but...how long does it take for you guys/gals to take Tyrant down usually?
The full 19.5 minutes, 10 minutes, etc...?
If he's going to drop, he drops in three or less Ultimates in our experience. so 9 minutes or less.
If he's not fallen over in that time span, then it's probably time to go for plan b and take out 3 lights at a time for 4 times, and settle for 'The Hard Way'. -

Took me a little while to edit the screenshot down a bit.
Took us two runs this week.
First run we had him down to 11% at one point, then he regenerated <wince>
Second run was close, but we got him.
Congrats all round, and thanks to Kisana for running it again.
So the score stands (so far as I know) at Union 2, Victory 2, Virtue 2.
No other servers want to chime in? Come on, you know you want to. -
Quote:Nope, no goalposts have been moved, because Tin Mage is a Task Force with Incarnate prerequisites, not an Incarnate Trial.apologies, I guess I got mixed up not running them very often, but I know we used the 3 nukes during the Issue 19 release of the Tin Mage run to get the "Midnight Dodges...." badge, and I had to unlock my Alpha to run it.
The Dev's have moved the goalposts I suppose.
They're two different beasts.
Also, another note regarding Corruptors, Scourge. Scourge gives Corruptors a damage boost just when it's needed most, when Tyrant's HP are below 50% and his regen is spiking upward. The problem being that if your corruptors are blasting, they're not buffing/debuffing/healing...
So far as [Ultimate] inspirations go, as Arcanaville posted in the other thread, they double the effectiveness of your league due to you being at the deep end of the purple patch. -
Quote:I'm truly shocked that nobody has challenged this yet...I have it from a very reliable source that Twinshot is the Primal equivalent to Ricochet.
Sorry, but I don't consider patch notes to be 'very reliable'.
'occasionally', 'sometimes' or 'usually' reliable I'd let you get away with, but my natural cynicism and past experience of patch notes refuses to let you get away with 'very'.

Quote:As Arbiter Hawk said here :Ditto. I was hit with them and suddenly lost access to my incarnate powers and a couple epic pool powers (my level 49 and 47 choices)
Quote:Black Swan's Throw Quills power will disable all of your epic powers, including your incarnate powers but also APP/PPP powers. Her Quills of Jocas will only deal you one negative level shift for each shift you have on the character (Ultimate inspirations excepted) -
Damn you Arcanaville! I hadn't actually noticed it until you wrote that... Now every time I see it, there's going to be a little flag in the back of my brain pop up and say 'This is silly and wrong, and this is why!'

Quote:Well, one of two things will happen. At first I was excited to hear about this, but then I was just sad. It sets a precedent for making future trials and badges even harder, as well as being something that no one in their right mind would want to repeatedly do--just for the fun or reward of it.
In the end, however, congrats--what an epic achievement!
Either our little group of idiots were so uber that no other server will manage it, and so we'll be a merry little band of outliers, the badge conditions will be adjusted eventually to make it more achievable and that'll be regarded as an upper limit on how difficult to make a badge to achieve.
Or, in a few days/weeks/months it'll start turning up semi-regularly on other servers, and as more Incarnate shinies get released it'll become easier, thus meeting the stated badge design criteria. Nothing is changed in the requirements and eventually a new, harder badge will be added to cope with increased incarnate power levels.
On a complete side note, I used to watch my brother swearing at Molten Core in the gorilla. Then a few years later, I saw him go back and it was a cakewalk.
So far as I'm concerned, it's the nature of MMO's. The older stuff becomes easier over time with power creep and playerbase experience, and there's almost invariably something newer, shinier and more difficult.
I think the problem is that for a LONG time, this game had no power creep. SO/HO builds were the pinnacle for issues 0-9 (with AT/Powerset FoTM's), IO builds from 9-19 (with slow escalation over that period as techniques and builds were refined), whereupon the Alpha slot appeared and suddenly things started going nuts...
That's 19 issues, 6 years and 7 months (ish) of a pretty flat powercreep graph for people to get used to and comfortable with. I personally can't see things calming down too much any time soon. People enjoy seeing their characters get more powerful <shrug>
Apologies if this is a little incoherent, it's getting late -
Quote:Have you TRIED to get it on live? o_ODid they ever make this harder to get than it was on beta? Cause on beta, with an entire pug with no planning and no AT stacking this was pretty much a joke to get.
Grats anyways though.
Put it this way, so far as I know, and nobody's popped up yet to claim otherwise, we are the only league to get the badge yet since i23 went live.
Yes, it was apparently bumped up the difficulty scale quite a lot going from beta to live.
Also, note to self: next time taking a screenshot to post to the boards, turn off player ratings as apparently they get more attention than getting one of the hardest to acquire badges in the game does <grin> -
Quote:Umm, pass. How long did it take you in the final fight to take him down? The full 15 (?) minutes or more like 10?
I think I burned 2, maybe 3 Ultimates, so 10 minutes or less?
It was a little stressful, so I wasn't really paying attention to anything other than staying alive, moving out of the way of Crackles and firing my Debuffs/Attacks as and when I could. (and believe me, that was plenty to be paying attention to)
Hang on, It should be in my chat logs...
Code:06-03-2012 19:58:16 [Caption] By the power of Tartarus, I call upon the souls of the dead!
Code:06-03-2012 20:04:37 [NPC] Tyrant: What?!? Impossible! No... my souls are breaking free!
Use Black Swan as a gauge. If she drops like a sack of spuds, and only manages one set of portals? You probably stand a chance, if the league can dodge lightning and stay alive.
:edit: scanning the chatlogs, I found the name of the 24th league member - Fire Magus. They left the league pretty much straight after Tyrant fell, so weren't in any of the screens posted elsewhere. -
Quote:Get a League of people you trust to not go afk, chat or whatever during the trial. If I wasn't away from computers for most of the weekend I'd have congratulated you guys sooner. Way to go on this! I wasn't sure it would be possible on live just yet - glad to see that it is, and done so quickly after release, too.
Hopefully we'll have some people on Virtue joining your ranks soon.
Get them to practice and get good at moving away on the Crackle warning.
Be prepared to burn some resources. [Ultimate] insps available in Ourobouros from Astral Christy for 2 Astrals each are *very* useful. Take 5 in to each serious attempt.
Stack the odds in your favour. This means not everyone may be able to get the badge on their primary badge character first time round. I didn't. I was on my Sonic/Cold Corruptor helping out.
During the final fight, Concentrate.
And the final ingredient is sheer bloody mindedness. Keep plugging away at it and I'm sure other groups will get the badge.
Good luck to those who are still trying. Now I just need to try and get the badge on the three characters of mine that I actually want it on
I will add, that it was really rather nice to be in the first group to get the badge on the live servers (as far as I know, and nobody's popped up to claim otherwise yet.) -

Oh, for the love of...
<sigh> Star rating paranoia strikes again.
I use the ratings as follows.
1 Star - You're a numpty and I want nothing to do with you, ever.
2 Stars - You're a minor irritation and I want to remind myself that I may need to keep an eye on you.
3 Stars - I've teamed with you several times and I consider you to be a good player.
4 Stars - I've teamed with you a lot, you're thoroughly competent and I don't need to keep an eye on what you're doing.
5 Stars - I know you in real life.
No stars means nothing other than I've not teamed with you enough to have a firm opinion either way. Nothing else. I'm not slighting you.
Also, my current player ratings are somewhat out of date, but I only update them when I think about it, and mid trial is NOT the place to do that, and also I play solo a lot so probably haven't teamed with too many people enough to form an opinion.
So ner :P -
Guys please.
It looks like there's already been moderator activity in this thread.
Keep it civil, OK?
It was posted (in a hurry, as you can tell by the currently ugly, quick and dirty screenshot I posted) as a Congratulations to the League that managed it, and as an 'It can be done' encouragement to players on other servers still trying for it.
Congratulations all round to the league that succeeded, and I'm now off to re-edit the screenshot in an attempt to make it less huge <grin>
