1. I've had issues logging in and staying logged in, too.

Even put an entry into the official Forum Bugs thread about it.

May be worth other people expanding on the issue in the thread if they can think of anything I've not noticed, or got a reliable workaround.

The old boards, for all their many faults, at least managed to keep me logged in, and never forgot that I'd said 'remember me'

Bug Description: I'm not 100% sure that this counts as a forum bug, or whether it's just on my machine, but I'm finding that I'm constantly being logged out of the boards, and have to log back in on a regular basis. I can't figure out any reliable reproduction steps, but it seems possibly to do with 'back up' or opening links in new tabs.
I've cleared all stored passwords in Firefox, refused to let it store my password, entered my username/password, selected Europe, and checked the 'remember' box. Yet it still keeps logging me out.
Anyone got any ideas? 'Cos I'm running out. (and 'use IE' is not a valid idea, in my book...)

I know, that was probably a poor choice of phrase, or at least I didn't clarify that I was talking about the first wave; I thought it was implicit.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not personally looking to be in any early betas after my experience of I15's open/closed beta. Early betas are not all pancakes and puppies, and anyone who still thinks that they are is in need of some help. However, it still has the feel of EU players being excluded by a 'technicality'. If there's a reason to keep EU players out of the first wave on technical grounds, such as the difficulty of setting up access to the US Training room, fine. But tell us that.

From how I read the release, most of the long term EU players are likely to get into the 2nd wave anyway.

Blargh. Too late to think and type coherently. Oh, hang on, quarter past midnight. Too early to think/type etc. etc.
7. Not overly impressed.

The EU got offered 'buy 6 months get one month free'

The US players get 'buy 6 months, get one moth free, OR buy 12 months get 2 months free'.

Differential treatment why, exactly?

So far as the GR Beta goes, until February the 4th next year, nobody who started playing when the EU launched will qualify for beta. So it's effectively US players only, but doesn't mention that.

There are a few people on the EU servers who'll qualify, (Master_Zaprobo, for one) by dint of using the transfer that was offered way back, but the majority of the 'Loyal' EU players who've subbed since EU launch seem to be getting shut out.

PS, the .sig's there for a reason...

You may be giving the Americans the wrong idea trying to tell them that we roll our tongues around a-r-r-r-s-e...

Beer: American beer is fizzy, weak, cold and contains salt. That's not beer. Real beer is ale. Ale is served at room temperature, has a stupid name like "Old Gruntfuttock," and usually comes in at six-point-five to seven percent by volume. It tastes of yeast and hops, not recycled water.

Bloody: Yes, British people do say it. It's a mild expletive, marginally stronger than "Damn."

Just viewed a video regarding Earth Assault, the 2.1 sec animation time (from Detailed Info) does not compute as I saw the usual *STOMP* and the spear appears instantly.

[/ QUOTE ]

The 2.1 seconds may include whatever 'recovery time' there is to return from the STOMP pose back to neutral. There's no guarantee that the recovery is instantaneous, or even rapid.

The only way to find out for certain is to wait for open Beta. So that means you'll maybe find out in 3-5 weeks (numbers plucked out of the air).

Luckily it's the first power in the set, so you won't have to do any levelling on test to find out.
13. [ QUOTE ]
Doesn't Power Boost increase KB? God, you hit that and one of these powers you'll be hunted down by Baseball Scouts looking to sign you with the Yankees.

[/ QUOTE ]

Not any more.

The PvP mob cried foul about it long enough and hard enough on the US boards, so they took that aspect of Powerboost away. Which was an annoyance on my Fire/FF/Primal controller, as a Powerboosted Force Bolt was always good for a laugh when you could punt mobs beyond line of sight
14. So I'm plodding along on my Dark/Stone tanker, and having finally finished off all the 15-19 content, I turn XP back on, beat up a couple of random mooks that cross my path, and woohoo! It's Stamina time.

Rather than faff on alting to my badge toon and making up a level 20 End Mod IO, I decide to try and be moderately cunning. I go to the Kings Row AE building and pop into a single mission arc, wander through it and exit with 100 tickets in my pocket.

Off to the ticket vendor I pop, only to find that apparently, while the ticket vendor stocks Training Origin End Mod Enhancements, they appear to be completely out of Dual Origin Endurance Modifications...

Whuh?

In fact, looking at the list, while 26 flavours of TO are available, only 19 flavours of DO appear to be available. I hope this isn't some mutant child of the 'Power ten' concept coming back again...

Further to the MotD that was deployed ingame a couple of weeks ago, please be aware that the next Double XP Weekend will be on in 2 weeks:

Start: Friday, 31 July 2009, at 8:59 a.m. British Summer Time/9:59 a.m. Central European Summer Time

Finish: Sunday, 2 August 2009, 8:59 p.m. BST/9:59 p.m. CEST

[/ QUOTE ]

In which case, they're cutting it too bloody fine, IMO.

Aiming to have the boards coming back (assuming the 72 hours is accurate) online after the DXP weekend has started? That's not a good idea, as the boards will be absolutely hammered by people checking to see if they got their user name, see what's new and shiny etc. etc.

They seem to be giving themselves no breathing room, but that's likely just my pessimism kicking in.

Please don't tell me you're not used to it by now...

[/ QUOTE ]

I'm used to it, I just don't recall anything in the EULA saying that I had to like it...

<points to .sig>

Part of my point was the month long gap in any info. When a lot of your customers pay per month to play the game, then it could be argued that a month is stretching the definition of 'soon'.

However, since Finagle's Law (The perversity of the Universe tends towards a maximum.) appears to be in full effect, and an hour and a quarter after my previous post there WAS some more info forthcoming, I shall slope off and resume waiting.
17. [ QUOTE ]
As already mentioned, we will be updating you on things again soon, but until then, please save those PM’s and think about your forum handle ASAP. Then, prepare yourselves to become one, big, fun CoH community!

[/ QUOTE ]

So, you give warning asking people to clear out their PM's, and then graciously give them another month to fill them up again?

Any chance of some further info on this, like if it's even still happening?

Oh, and the definition of 'soon' as being 'less time than elapses between mass extinctions in the fossil record' is starting a to wear a little thin...
18. [ QUOTE ]
I have a hunch this is just a halloween-style costume, not a pack with individual bits, so this is no big deal for me. It'll all be the same in about a month when it wears off.

But if it IS individual bits we can use in the costume creator, then yeah, something needs to be done to get us these!

[/ QUOTE ]

It's sort of like the Hallowe'en costumes.

It changes your entire toon into a KoA, just like the Hallowe'en ones, but it's not a 30 day power, it's permanent, once applied to the account, just like the ones that were given away last year (PPD Hardsuit and one other that I can't recall atm)

:edit: on rereading that, it reads as if it permanently changes your toon into a KoA... it works like the hallowe'en temps. It gives you the KoA costume temp, but it's not got an expiry time, so it's a permanent temp power once the code's applied to your account, if that makes any more sense at all....

Bleh, I give up, bed time.

Conceptually, I've always far preferred Resistance over Defense. Superman doesn't dodge that bullt you know, he ignores the thing and lets it bounce off!

[/ QUOTE ]

And that is covered by the ingame workings of Defence.

If it bounces off, it's doing no damage.

If it's doing no damage, then by the ingame mechanics, it's not landed. (due the the presence of resist caps, since 100% resist is impossible to achieve, you can't have a resist based toon who ignores attacks. They always have some effect.)

Ergo, Defence.

It's also been stated a couple of times by the devs in posts now long since purged, that attacks 'bouncing off' is conceptually, in the game mechanics world, Defence.

Ice Armour doesn't make you harder to hit. It makes you harder to land a telling blow on as the ice deflects all bar a portion of incoming attacks, so they do no damage. The same goes with Shield Defence and Stone Armour.

The fact that high defence toons have an added advantage of effectively higher mez protection (due to mezzes not landing) is a side bonus, and another reason why people tend to chase defence over resist. That, and the fact that getting high defence through sets and pools is far, far easier than getting high resist values.

(all the above IMO only, of course)

Its been ages but I think that the Paragon Allstars merged with some Agency and other SGs into what was called Darkwings. Allstars and Agency had gotten very small as had other SGs all averaging about 13 people who logged in often around ED time. Some SGs merged for more ppl and to not invite just anybody and stay quality/quantity and some went to a kick and invite system padding things out more through global membership and log in every so often to grow fast as quantity/quality. I haven't seen a Darkwing in ages. I think they more or less become a guild and now play other games but I am not sure.

[/ QUOTE ]

Not quite. You make it sound a little like the Darkwings were a new SG formed to hold the remains of the Agency/PA's and some other. Not so, we've been in existence since about 2-3 days into the EU launch.

a) The DW's are still active, just not actively recruiting any more. we've settled down to a core group of old timers, and since we've played alongside each other for so long, we tend to prefer it as it is.

b) There was never a merger involving the Agency/DW's, not officially, anyway. the Agency still exists, still has members, and a few of them still log in on an irregular basis. A lot of the players involved sort of gravitated into a regular play group, and because the DW players (ie Myself and Lifeline) were more stubborn than anyone else and wouldn't leave our SG, eventually we ended up just using the DW and associated SG's.

c) A lot of said players left for other games (mainly WoW). Sometimes they come back for short periods. Some don't play MMO's any more, some just vanished into the ether.

d) If you've not seen a DW in ages, then you've either not been looking in the right direction, or just not run across one of us Not surprising, since most of the game time is spent in instances.

Several of the Cold Front mob were what could be classed as Darkwings.

Anyway, enough rambling, none of this really has anything to do with the Paragon Allstars, just trying so straighten out the record.

Ok, The emotes 'drink formula' and 'super serum' are added as optional costume change emotes... however they are only useable through the costume change menu, So if you wanted to bind the emote to anything else you're going to be disappointed.

[/ QUOTE ]

Set up two identical costumes, use the /cce # ccdrinkformula or
/cce # ccsuperserum commands to switch between the identical costumes and you're set.

Not a great workaround, admittedly, since it eats a costume slot, but it's a workaround.
