  1. Finally got it...man, what a hassle and it's still not showing on the CoH website as being available in the Buy Now links, etc

    Cal
  2. I don't see it available...anyone got a link to it?

    Cal
  3. Still getting stuttering/hitching of vehicles, NPCs and players traveling...at random times. They stutter badly---even with Game Booster, this still happens and with Ultra turned off. In fact, altering any graphics down to performance or lower makes no difference. I've defragged and defragged with no effect. All this since I19 went from beta to live.
  4. Turning that off, yeah, that removed 90% of the hitching. I still have a quick freeze at regular intervals...hard to describe. Like a micro lockup lasting very much less than a second...something I've never had before this Issue.

I notice no real difference in the graphics turning this off. My next step is as je_saist suggested.

thanks for all the help, guys
    Cal
  5. I'm going to have to conclude that it's COH itself that is the problem. The hitching and stuttering is getting worse. Lockups just now and then. I'd hate to have to just give it up, but apparently I'm going to have no choice. Not going to play under these conditions.

    Cal
  6. No, no graphic problems. Awesome graphics, btw.

I tried to save a report but don't see it saved where I told it to...still trying.

    Cal
  7. No. Defrag made no difference.

    Any ideas?

    Cal
  8. Man, that check disc took a long time. Anyway, I went ahead and did a defrag as well. About to see how it works.

  10. Noticed nothing throughout beta for I19...then bam! live launch, it started for no apparent reason.

    See anything wrong in hijack?

    and many thanks!

    Cal
  11. Hey all, Techies
Yeah, having the hitching, stuttering randomly leading to a hard lockup. I installed and ran CCleaner and this seemed to help for maybe one session. I also notice that when I open my download folder, the icons for the progs I've downloaded here and there take a noticeable time to render...something isn't right but I can't figure it out. COMODO says nothing is wrong.

Then consider that to add a new form of movement, they have to do that for every set in the game.

And I still agree with BAB's assessment that Aquaman is lame.

As for outer space? Well, I'd imagine it wouldn't be too hard to coat a moon base with a zone-wide movement buff (as though the zone were permanently located inside Hami). Explicit outer space would probably be a bit trickier and fall back to the problems associated with underwater zones.
I don't care, man! Sorries. I want Underwater Adventure, Outer Space Adventure and much more!

I so miss the underwater stuff from EQ1. Diving into that pool in---what was it called, Highpass? (can't recall the proper name) saved my toon's life many a time---though the enemies did chase me to the bottom, swimming all the way. The intense angst, desperation was fun: would I have enough time to gate before the bandits reached me, etc, etc. And, of course, the entire underwater castle (Kedge Keep?) near Unrest. The memories alone are almost enough to make me do a free trial again, heh.

OTOH, of course, I'd feel a bit guilty expecting BABs to try and code all the necessaries to make it happen

Yeah, Aquaman is the lamest; I agree completely.
  15. I never liked BAB's response/position on the Underwater Zone issue.

I want fully underwater adventures---outer space, too. I don't care if it's hard to do or resource intensive or whatever else seems prohibitive. I wantsss it! I'm willing to wait on it, of course, but not completely abandon it.

As for the OP: the answer to your question is: NO. Ridiculous.
  16. Or Tull homage?

    Aqualung, my friend.
  17. I hereby declare my undying loyalty to Praetoria and Emporer Cole.

Death to the malcontents and iconoclasts! We shall not be moved! We will heap a maelstrom of dismay upon the enemies of empire, the foes of forthrightness, the haters of harmony!

Emperor Cole guides us like a mighty beacon in the outer darkness. All hail Cole!

  18. I will say this much:

I hope this conflict is the primary focus of GR. There are ( was going to say seem to be ) endless fonts of adventure possible. Capitalize on it in a big way. Make it vital---yet not GATED CONTENT. Leave it open, yet enthralling.

    Hmmm

    Is that even possible?

  19. Calibre

    Disappointed

I'm still hoping for an update to the avatars. I didn't see any in all that---same old faces, same old mechanics, skeleton, play-dough hands and feet...

    I want better.

    Cal
  20. I hate it. Sorry.

No, not really. er, the 'sorry' part.

    Cal
  21. I like it...suggests a graphical update which I consider sorely needed.

But, of course, I'm miffed that it's not available to us all.

    Cal
  22. Calibre.

Only part of the full name: Brus Calibre, my main Space Master character from back in the 80s; the campaign run by my best friend. Yes, a TT game put out by Iron Crown.

He was a serious d---, space marine, psionic mercenary. To this day if I mention this character's name to my friend he starts having shivering fits. Yeah, I was THAT bad heh.

Been using it for years now. The other handle is 'Lambent', my main fire/fire/fire Blaster which I have had since mid-beta of this game.
