  1. A couple more I picked up

This was me setting up a RP screenshot MA. I was thinking of making it my sig, but my main getting blasted in the face by lasers probably would not make a good first impression

Finally got my Pumpkin King badge

Not so much an action shot but it surprised me. Out in the Hive I stumbled on this gauntlet of giant monsters blocking a canyon.

I tried to get an action shot...but they stepped on me and broke my camers
  2. I like the power as it is now. AoE meshes well with the AoE damage I am putting out in Blazing Aura and Foot Stomp (Fire/SS tank). On a team it works well with any other debuffs coming.

That being said I would not object to trying a single target version out. Don't think I would like it but I am the oddball here in liking the power as it is now
  3. Nothing wrong wth having to work for badges.
  4. I am glad you enjoyed the arc.

Every single time a patch comes out I run into some odd issues with this arc. This time around I had to edit the last mission to get the final spawning working again. I will play with he maps a bit over the next few days but for now it is locked at a single spawn.

This time around the patch also increased the size of my mission to over 100%. Had to pull some dialog to get it back in line.
  5. Of the pure resistance sets I tend to prefer Fire/ over Electric/. It meshes best with my playstyle and I end up surviving much longer overall.

As noted earlier your best bet is layered damage mitigation. Def+Res+Regen makes for a powerful tank.
  6. I farm every day. I go to the same resource field, repeat the same actions over and over, and gain a monitary reward.

The only difference between my RL and CoH is that I don't look nearly as good in tights in RL.

I think you missed my joke...

    But hey...it's monday..

If I remeber my level ranges right there is a gap around level 14 or so that does not fill out until you can hit the abandoned sewer network. From that point you are good to early 40s or so. Given no XP if the mob is below 5 levels that creates a big chasm for you to work over.

We do have the tools now to do so, with the way Exemping has been changed. However even with that you are probably hurting for a good chunk of that. And if an actual human cannot find joy in that type of progression does it really matter?

I know your answer.....Im asking the normal people here who are not trying to make a point
  9. You know what the difference is....

Sewer farming can't take you from 1-50. After level 10 or so you have to move on to new farming grounds. MA can get you from 1 - 50 without leaving a single zone.

    Ergo MA is evil.
  10. IMHO missions should be changed globally adhere to some of the new convensions that you see. Namely, having missions be zone specific and a path to unlock a TF or Trial. None of this running between zones and such. Let us focus on the one zone as we work our way through the story.

On a side note, I would love an Atlas or Galaxy city based Trial. Something simple for the newbies but a good introduction into the larger picture of CoH/CoV
  11. Depends on how you define "AE Farming". but I ran the same mission twice with my new tank, got 4 levels, and had a blast the other night.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the fixes were not to kill farming. They were to stop exploiting. Farming still existent, always has, and always will.
  12. I think I16 has delivered some of the best post tags I have seen in years...

Sure we have only had them for a few months...but still...

It was always my understanding that, based on US law, any intellectual content submitted to the game, the forum, or any other NCSOFT owned digital service was granted Non-Exclusive republishing rights only.

I am getting this from the online writing world, where intellectual property is submitted to an online service for the intention of publication. The act of submission grants Non-Exclusive digital reproduction rights, but not ownership of the property. Nothing in a ToS or EULA can alter this fact and, when push comes to shove, any such property would be governed under DMCA.

Short version, submitting content gives away the right to offer it as unpublished content and allows the publisher the ability to present that content. It does not remove copyright and will not give up ownership.

Again, just my perspective. Would love to hear from the Devs on this.

I don't think so, but upping the team number naturally nets you more tickets if you were playing Solo before. Kind of a balance point between the reduced rewards of AE and the increased reward potential of the Difficulty Sliders.
  15. As most of you know I tend to Solo alot. It is what a Fire tank is best at after all. Between other projects I spend my time on old trusts, an IOed out Fire/SS/Fire that enjoys tearing apart large groups.

I have to say that the new difficulty settings have given me a new lease on life and will most likely keep me from my usual haunting grounds, farming in RWZ.

I like to run my AE as a testbed, I know how it works, what to expect, and the tricks around some of the difficult sections. Normally I can finish it off in 1/2 hour with 0 deaths and net about 1200-1500 tickets.

In testing I found my happy medium. +2 levels above me, Equivalent of 5 Heroes, and no Bosses or AV's. This scales down bosses to LT's, and EBs to bosses.

At this level I had 3 deaths and it took over an hour to complete the same mission, netting me 2200 tickets last night, 1920 the previous night.

Whats the point Cal? Nothing really, except to state that the new difficulty selections are a godsend. They let us create a challenge that surpasses the simple "Too hard or Too Easy" syndrome that we have faced in the past.

On a side note, LOVE the new SS animations. Ground punch and Haymaker really stand out as making me feel...well...super. I know nothing has changed in the numbers but the look screams super to me.

Myth: CO will be the zenith of Super Hero games. Built from he experience of CoH and CoV it will learn from the mistakes of it's cousin and provide a well balanced, open ended experience right out of the gate for the players.

    Fact:.....just read the forums
  18. SD/Elec is on my list as well. Been holding off on leveling my SD/SS until I16 hit to see if more teams were available thanks to Super SK.
  19. Just played my story AE to see how much the various changes impacted it. It is 4 missions full of robots and fun.

Before set on Rugged I would net 1300-1500 tickets

Now, set to 5 person team with no bosses: 1920 tickets.

The new settings let me really challenge my Tank while giving my that "Super" feel.

Other notes: New SS animations are wonderful. They feel like they hit harder and mesh quite well.

New Fire Aura colors and style makes me a happy tank. Do wish we could test multipul auras being on before committing to the changes. Perhaps a personal instanced mission full of target drones for when you are using the tailor?

  22. Didn't notice this thread before, so I hope nobody minds if I toss my intro here.

I am Cal, a RP addicted writer who has stumbled upon the addiction for artwork. Usually spend most of my time spreading the good word of Pie to the general forum, helping out on the tanker forum, or just hanging out in Victory forum.

Outside of the game I run my own website (several actually, but 1 is 100% mine), fix computers, and try to satisfy the creative writing bug that rears it's head now and then.

Most of my characters have fairly large back stories that tie into various RP arcs or other stories I have written over during my time in CoH. I keep somewhat scattered reference sheets on all of them, and in game each one gets played with a different personality depending on their role.

I have requested my first commission and am very excited to see the results of somebody else looking at my home grown characters and seeing their perception. I expect it will not be the first one ether

On a side note, and the last time I will post about it as I do not want to Spam, if anybody is looking for pic hosting I am offering up space on my site. See the following thread for the details.

    COH Mythbusters

The number of people in the zone effects the spawn of Heavies in a Rikti raid, or the spawn of Zombie bosses in the Zombie raid.

Truth: It is tied to the kill rate in a particular area. A team of 8 with nobody else in the zone can get Elite Bosses provided they wipe out the boss spawn previous fast enough and within a small enough area.
  24. Two things really stand out for me in this issue

Super Sidekick and Exemping changes. Keeping powers a few levels above whenre you exemp down to is going to get me back to Flashback, and Super SK is just an awsome idea.

This issue is a QOL issue to be sure but I am very happy with it.
  25. Dalghryn should play End Game (17006) because it makes use of chaining objectives in order to provide the player a fun experience. Also because I had to copy and paste his name to prevent mis-spelling, and as such I had to put a lot of effort into this post.

    No pie in my arc.
