Quote:No, no, no people. Think!
Mender Silos is YOU in from the far future.
He (you) has (have) travelled back in time to stop "The Coming Storm".
You are "The Coming Storm" and you've been leaving messages across
time to prevent you from working with Mender Silos (you) to prevent
"The Coming Storm" (you) . . .
So, if I wanted to save the world as any hero should, I should have let person X mess up my outbreak mission????

Quote:Yes you are. You asked a question where the answer was both controversial and based on the opinion and perspective of the person responding.
Look, I'm not trying to troll here;
Then you attack the responses just shy of the point where it would be insulting while claiming that nobody has replied.
The simple answer to why people run is "They don't want to fight." You don't have to like it for it to be the reason. -
At the end of Beta there was an invasion and a mothership was over each zone.
I really wish they did more with that...seems like a wast to only have used it that one time. -
Been wanting to do one of these myself but have yet to find a good home for it. Between all my characters i have a nice sized stack of notes on my computer desk
Very well done, going to have to sit down when I get home and give it a good read. -
Quote:There's a difference between setting the scale of an entity and changing the scale of an entity...much less doing that via the powers system.
I can make a 400 foot tall fire imp in about 10 seconds by changing a couple of values in a script. But I can't do that via a power, I can't make the imp actually grow to be 400 foot, there's nothing to prevent me from doing that in an office map or while standing under an overpass, and there's nothing to fix the dozens of different problems that come from having a giant anything in the game...much less a giant something that's player controlled.
In reference to the bolded statement, why not?
The ability is already in place to identify our location in an outside map and execute, or prevent the execution of actions. Specifically I am thinking of the Rikti and Zombie raids. When in a building or under an underpass they will not spawn on you, yet in the open they will.
On a basic level it seems that this type of position based logic could be applied to this type of situation. In general is there a reason why it could not? -
From Calash, a Cyborg hero who at the time barely had a grasp of his human parts. The communication is to a contractor working for DATA who had been helping him for several months at this time.

Dr. Veil,
As the calculated probability of our return to this world is less than 1% I am terminating my service contract with you. Attached is the final payment for services rendered.
Current status reports show me functioning at 98.322% efficiency. One anomaly still exists within my organic components, but I hope to resolve the issue before the Omega Team leaves.
Anomaly Analysis: There is a chemical shift within my organic components centered in the primary cortex. As I calculate the effects of this I have observed reactions in the other team members that I can identify as similar to my current anomalies.
A detailed search calls this “Fear” and “Sadness”. A more detailed analysis will have to wait until our return. As these functions are not needed for my primary mission I will isolate them until such time as I am able to further study them.
Observation: I am finding the prospect of no longer working with you to be of particular concern to my organics. I have cataloged these observations and attached them to this document. I assume that this is a result of familiarity with you as well as your consistent and exemplary performance during my system maintenance cycles.
I feel the need to state that I have enjoyed our time together. You are very skilled and have resolved all of my system errors in a efficient and accurate manner. While I disagree with your assertion that my organic anomalies, or feelings as you call them, need to be explored I respect your motivation and overall goal for the betterment of my function. Attached is a recommendation letter that you may use for any future endeavors as well as a catalog of all service up to this date.
Final preparations for our departure are completing. I have observed others on the team leaving letters in the “Time Capsule”. In an effort to mimic human function, as you have requested me to do, I will leave this communication in that location as well. While not as efficient as direct transmission via email perhaps it holds some value that is still currently beyond my capability of understanding.
I am finding it difficult to close this communication. All calculations indicate that we will not return, and such actions are necessary for the greater good. This is part of my design and no part of me is rejecting this decision. Yet I find my organics express an anomaly during this final communication with you in particular.
Is this Love?
Anomaly will be stored for future analysis.

Quote:No... just no... for the love of all that is sacred, HELL NO!!!
Seriously, if they actually started selling this, I would probably drop my account in an instant. This idea is just... horrible! Is this some kind of joke?! I sincerely hope it is, otherwise is would be very smart to get your mind out of the disgusting gutter it dug itself into.
Wow, I didn't think a single post could make me be so rude...
No strippers in my game please, kthxbai.
Strippers are people too. And some of them have super powers.... -

Quote:No need to explain this very much as the lore already supports Rikti disguising themselves as humans. Hero side this is not covered as much as Villain, but the scattering of billboards saying "They are among us" as well as some mission text support this. Villian side has an entire contact with two story arcs with this subtext. All Rikti are of the Science Origin, and are (initially) restricted to the Rikti Body Type, and Rikti Costume Pieces. Like VEATs, they get a bonus costume slot at level 10. However, they also get to choose a single additional Human body type, for free, even if they don't have Superbooster Science. (This can be explained as either SCIENCE, A Riktification Cure, or a Hologram or something... Basically it's to keep people from being locked into the Rikti Body Type and the sure to be somewhat limited (at first) costume pieces.)
One thing I would suggest, and it would just be for flavor. In Paragon and the Rogue Islands the civilians should run from you when in Rikti form. Not sure how Praetoria would react to them...do they even know about them yet? -
Kings Row makes for a nice practice area to tighten your control and refine your jumping skills. Been hopping around there for a few days now...having a blast

Last I knew they did as well, barring any patch changes I may have missed.
On a side note, the mobs that use to spawn at the top of the very tall buildings in Bricks have stopped spawning. I miss being able to send them flying to their doom, just out of visual range -
Cimerorans are to Defence what Vanguard are to Resistance. Too many hits with no debuff resistance and you are in trouble real fast.

I think you just made my head explode. You can not logically combine two things of such awesomeness without taking into account the fragile nature of the universe.
There is a reason Mr. T and Chuck Norris never had a lovechild.
Actually many reasons.......
Oh god....the image is stuck in my mind..... -
I have been having a lot of fun with my baby Ninja Run stalker.
Jump in, Assassin strike, wait for suppression to drop, jump out. Run, rinse, and repeat.
Outside of the stalker I will never level past 6 it has solved my travel power problem with my WP/Elec tank. My poor jetpack had 4 minutes on it when I got the pack. Mixed with the jumpjet from the GvE edition you get a great movement ability on all your characters. -
Quote:If you move the slow resist out of temp protection and into plasma shield I could get behind that. May want to see about balancing out the durations of Fiery Embrace between Brutes, Scrappers, and Tanks to allow for the longer duration. In the case of FA:
Burn would be replaced with a straight PBAoE attack like a mini-nova without the endurance slam side effect, probably balanced around the current PPP AoEs for its level of damage. A zero range fireball.
Temp protection would be yanked completely replaced with RoTP.
New tier9 would be more along the lines of one with the shield and strength of will.
This will allow the primary dam-res toggles to be buffed while retaining the damage aligned feel of the set.
+5%S/L boost in Fire Shield would also make me happy..but now I am dreaming in my dreams -
Quote:Fiery Aura and Dark Armor: No self rezzes as tier 9s. Give them a real tier 9.
Nerf all tier9 powers to buff the rest of the set's powers.
Wait....Give my Fire/SS a god-mode power, then nerf it and buff the set? Why not just leave me with a rez and buff the set? -
Old Hami I could just show up and be a part of the raid.
New one needs planning...planning that I usually miss so I never get to go.
I understand why they changed it, but I am in the camp of missing the old raid, if for nothing else than the social aspect.
You don't get nearly as much chatter on the Ship raids. -
Burn for tanks. It has been altered and adjusted almost from release. The inital concept was for it to be a "Wall of Fire" type power. However the common playstyle of a tank makes this use near impossible. Instead it was used as a pBAoe power that could melt away the mobs around you.
Since then it has been neutered and tweaked to it's currentl state where it is useful only against mobs that do not run or if you/your team have a way to stop/slow the mobs. This is not ideal for a AT that spends it's team time trying to keep mobs as close to them as possible while keeping the attention off of your teammates.
There is also the argument that the damage potential that Fire/ set has was balanced around previous versions of Burn and that with the current state it no longer is balanced for the lack of defensive ability.
Solutions:
- Turn Burn into a Damage shield. It blocks nothing but every Melee hit causes damage to the attacker. This damage can be buffed and is Fire based so it gets the full effect of Fiery Embrace.
- Make it into a pBaoe with a DoT component. Scrap the fear and balance overall damage around what the current expected output of burn is.
- Turn it into something along the lines of Omega Maneuver. Target attack that draws the attention of the mobs before erupting in a blaze that induces choking animation.
- Add a +slow, increase the radius, and double the taunt magnitude. This will allow the mobs to run away yet stay focused on you. -
Quote:Let me first thank all of you who have commented so far, this is becomeing a good info-mercial for Farming toons. I've seen some posters write things that were answered in my original post. For instance, someone wrote that it depends on the driver or player; however, I wrote ALL things being equal, meaning map, spawn size and lvl, player ability. Also, I wanted to know who everyone thinks is the FASTEST farmer, not the funnest to play or least likely to be killed.
So. . . this time I will list some paramaters:
1.Fastest for Influence/Infamy, set to 8 man solo run at -1 to +3 spawns
a.Villagers Map or BM Map
b. Demon farm map
c. Family map
d. Dreck map that doesn' thave dreck in it
e. Lib TV run w/Nemisis and mobs on Freaks map
2.Fastest for Purples, set to 8 man solo run at -1 spawns
SAME AS ABOVE
Try these parameters now for your picks.
All things are never equal when we can design our own missions just like our characters.
For what it is worth, a well built Tanker, Scrapper, or Brute can make a mint in the back corners of RWZ. Pull the aggro cap, wipe them out, and they will just about be re-spawned by the time your ready. My Fire/SS cleans up out there and it is how I afforded to get my last couple of Purple sets. -
In this modern age of difficulty sliders, AE Missions, and repeatable flashback missions it is hard to pick a single "best". We can tailor missions to work around the strengths and weaknesses of any build.
I prefer Tanks myself for my farming. I can setup missions with large body counts and bosses scaled down to LT's. Great for collecting recipes in large quantities.
For tanks I prefer Fire/SS, Shield/SS, Shield/Elec (Lots of fun), Fire/Fire. Fire/Elec should also do fairly well but I have not had the pleasure of trying it yet. WP/Elec is a fun build but I have not found it's sweet spot for farming yet and it is being outclassed by my Shield/Elec. -
