Looking at my partner's character's (he's only been playing about 9 months now), i see a distinct tendency to use the new stuff, unless his concept is golden/silver age - then he uses more of the legacy items.
Personally, i am for option one, as long as the updated textures are just updated textures and geometery does not change.
And as for the legacy tails, i have at least two characters that use them old, non-animated, tails, as the "tail" is part of the outfit, not part of the person. Any of my characters that actually have tails that are part of the person use the animated tails.
Also, put me down as another that wants sets completed (steam punk boots, a mask that matches tights shiney option, etc) as well. -
I definitely think the points about foes running away ridiculous distances and that all the maps look "samey samey" really quickly are valid.
That said, he was funny and i got a good chortle out of his attempts at a suicide leap.
Also, as a complete aside, my partner is not enjoying Praetoria at all. He finds the "choose your own adventure" (his phrase) very intimidating, fearing he can make a wrong or bad choice that will cripple him down the road. -
Seeing something similar:
Doesn't matter the character, server or side (hero/villain - though villains seems to be worse) - Peridically the game locks up, no mouse, no key board, it appears the entire system hangs. However, if i am streaming audio - the music keeps going, so its not the PC that locked, just the game. There appears to be a link with me turnign whilst moving or claiming a vet reqard - i've never had it lock just standing around or fighting (as long as i don't pivot/turn in the fight).
Also using Windows 7 - 64 bit, nVidea 295 (latest [6.15.10] drivers), 6MB RAM -

Wrong. Two people can share the exact same environment and come out two totally different people.
For everything good that was done to Marcus Cole in one reality, that turned him into Statesman, could have just as easily had the other Marcus Cole feeling trapped and/or angry.
They both could of had the exact same things happen to them and one thought "I should go with plan A" while the other thought "I should go with plan B"
Of course, Tyrant has Dominatrix, so apparently he married someone and had a child , who had a child (Dominatrix)... Possibly either a) his Maiden Justice wasn't as "good" as ours, b) he became more bitter after her death (hey immortality isn't that great if your loved ones are mortal) or c) something horrible happened to his original wife that set him on the road to Tyrant -
Odd that the Seers have short lives, even with treatment. There's no indication on Primal Earth that psi powers shorten lifespan. Though their outfits remind me somewhat of the Mu mystics (the vertical flight position, the arms tight to the body, the masks...)
Also, if our Sister Psyche doesn't age when mind riding, will Mother be effectively immortal now that she has bonded with Aurora? -

That's a problem. I can't afford two MMOs, and if a new one offers me a "similar amount" of content for a version of "similar" that I foresee as not being satisfactory, I will be unmotivated to drop this one and pick up that one. And herein lies the financial problem - this puts Paragon Studios in competition WITH THEMSELVES. They'll need people to support their new game, and a LOT of those people are going to have to come from their old game, which isn't going to happen unless their new game supports most everything the old one does. And even then, how many are going to abandon their characters and start over?
The only other option is to just stop development for City of Heroes and "nudge" current players to move onto City of Heroes 2. And that's just such a dick move that I don't foresee ANY gaming studio pulling, let alone one as cool as Paragon Studios. -

50 bots/dark MM (orob'ed to 29) was able to get most of them in an alpha of fearsome stare and use the bots to pick off one of them. By then the others had woken up from splash damage and the stacking darkest night got bad... real bad. i had to ran off, come back, ran to the back of the room and they obliging split into nice little clumps that could be picked apart. Still wasn't a cake walk, but got my "Army of me" badge.

Seeing the same thing at the tailor blueside, on a GTX 295. Not at home, so can't get the exact driver level, but i upgraded them last week. i also get the crash at the end of character creation as well.

Can't seem to get the mappack to install under windows 7 (64 bit) i am right clicking it and choosing "run as admninstrator". Any suggestions?

i've had a 5.1 surround sound set of speakers for years now. It can be cool:
- Explosions - BOOOOOM says the sub woofer!
- Enemies - hey, i can hear foot steps on some maps. Where is that dude shooting at me, oh the sound is behind and to the left.
- The Atlas Park plaza theme music (yes i know its a "canned track) - still sounds very nice on 6 speakers.
- Glowies - yep their sound is postional as well - ahh its above ahead and to the right.

Late to the aprty, as usual. 45 going on 7 (mentally), my partner is new gamer and is 38, and i group with several other guys in their 40s. We've long joked about making sure our nursing home has broadband (or whatever will be the equivalent in 30 years).

I've found a pretty big bug with Austin Grossman's arc. It can't be completed.
All of the missions have linked objectives - where one must be compelted for the next to spawn. In his final mission, the third objective never spawns, even when the first two are completed. I went over the map many times looking for it, assuming that I was somehow missing it. I replayed the arc, which was fun up until that point. I even set up a special bind of "targetcustomnext notmypet" and went room to room using it, including the small cave area. I could find nothing except for 2 glowies and the first 2 destrucible objects. In total, I probably spent an hour trying to complete the final mission of the arc before finally giving up. -
I have Windows XP, and i was trying to set up a second account XP account/ID on my PC with limited access, for a family member to play my second CoH account.
The second XP account is working fine, except that when i try to run the CohLauncher program from the program files\city of heroes folder, it wants to do a full patch install, instead of just launching the prgram.
What am i doing wrong here? -
