There seem to be two schools of Corrupting.
School One seem to be the "Defender" class corrupter - those who take their secondary powers more than their primary
School Two is the "Blaster" school where the primary powesr take priority.
I keep bumping into "blaster" type corrupters who basically can't help other team mates with any form of beff/debuff/heal. Yesterday I was teaming with 2 Corrupters (A Dark/Dark and an NRG/Kin) and the second one complained that we needed a healer. We had both Twilight Grasp and Transfusion but neither of the corrupters had slotted them. I wanted to turn around and say "you're a corrupter you're supposed to be the healer" which is too much of a gross over simplification.
So which is better "Blaster" type or "Defender" type corrupters?
My Dark/Dark is definitely more a "Defender"

making mine a bit of both....¨
and i will call him a "BLENDER"!!!! -

I pretty much stopped playing my regen stalker for this very reason, I simply got fed up with it dying all the time. Regen for stalkers is flawed as they don't have the same base hitpoint as scrappers so the regen rate is slower.
I rolled a claws/sr stalker and am having much more fun and success playing her than I did with my regen.
[/ QUOTE ]
ye the other defensive sets seems much better for staklkers, and it fits the whole "cant see me, cant touch me" feel stalkers have -
[ QUOTE ]
currently the level cap is lvl 40 which means you can only pick 20 powers so think long and hard about which powers you want.
you will defo want the fitness power pool powers (swift or hurdle, health, stamina)for more endurance.
2 powers for a travel power which is mainly to taste but most take super jump with stalkers.
Then theres more stealth if you want to PVP.
Most ppl take the medicine powers (aid other, aid self) with SR coz it has no heal.
NB i'd skip the first skill gamblers cut as its low damage.
Divine avalchane is a non damaging power but will boost defence when it hits. SR i'd focus on the toggle defences first and skip the passives.
Practiced Brawler is a must as its you anti hold power.
thats all i can think of atm.
[/ QUOTE ]
wrong you are my friend, Divine Avalanche deals damage just as gamblers cut does, they deal the same amount of damage as well, the only real difference between them is that Gamblers debuss the enemies defense and Divine buff your own... (if you do nbelieve me read the power description, it clearly says that it deals low damage, 14points to be exact) -
i agree, regen is more for the longer fights. Scrappers has great use for regen.
allthough i had 3 regen scrappers in RV during the event, the ma/regen i have on live as well as a katana/regen and a bs/regen. and i lasted well long with all of them.
you must also think about the fact that you cant play a regen toon as you do with others. it takes training and learning to get it together... -

1. SG Recruitment - I think we do need fresh blood as has been said previously if we removed all out alts then we would be left with prob ten members. I7 should resolve some of that as we will have some old faces sneaking back on who are going to want a base and established team just to jump back into ( n.b kitty has had most players "jump" with her at some time! ) I think we all need to be more proactive when we team with others that we are acitvely recruiting and not just sitting in our comfort zone. I must admit I enjoy logging on and chatting/ teaming with the same old faces but thats not going to increase our numbers. So I shall also start actively recruiting.
[/ QUOTE ]
fresh blood needed eh? i'll pop a vein for ya
have done as i was told in my little "thread" and taken a look at this one, you all seem like a rather sane(ish) bunch of ppl
i'd be glad to sign up Rogue Brim for a spot
and as i has been told i'll be contactin Cold Spark in-game for further details on the current situation -
[ QUOTE ]
Hi Brimmy,
I think we can give you a nice (in a very villainous way of course!) home in Demons and Vengeful Spirits.
By all means checkout our thread to get a feel for the "characters" we have :P I'll be on most of today - @Cold Spark is my global.

Just abit of very unnecessary info .. hehe -
Just started playing CoV a few days ago, i know i've sworn never to get CoV but i just couldnt resist at the price i got
.
now then, my lvl 10ish stone/stone Brute is looking for a home, a vg/sg with active members and a good sense of humour
Been asking around in-game but ppl doesnt seem to keen on talking to newcomers -
[ QUOTE ]
swift is better for scrapper then hurdle tho..moving fast is a must in pve..also in pvp (you could slot sprint..but why not just 2 jump SO's in SJ..(it does work:P)) .....reason why..come on..does no-one realise that having SJ perma on gives crappy acc?..its minor but still noticable..
btw doesn't every scrapper have imob protection or does da lack that?:P
[/ QUOTE ]
actually you can run 3 jumps in SJ, i know everyone says it caps at 2 but its 3 just like SS is -

starting to fit in then arent i(j/k)
well if it had been some sort of question or some other point i could have simply said that there would be a better placement for it. the OP from my PoV is just an attempt to start another "we hate hollows" rampage...
[/ QUOTE ]
Not quite, this was my first experience in CoH and fankly to be sent to the Hollow was just painfull, so much that i was about to give up and forget about CoH and rolling another villain. So i felt like letting know other Unionist heroes my feeling on this not so great experience.
The thread tittle state that i'm venting, thus if you don't want to read a rant, don't click on the thread! Thanks you very much.
Edit- Also you can't deny the fact that CoV missions, contacts, story arcs are much more friendly to new player and less of a hassle. Nerva is perhaps the expection with the hospital at the bottom of the map but by then you are 25-30 so having a travel power helps alot and not so much of a problem.
Just try to keep in mind i started the game via CoV so having to experience the harsh zones in CoH is not fun, -at all-.
[/ QUOTE ]
in this case all i can do is rephrase myself then i guess.
When it comes to hazard zones such as Hollows you do not have to do it.
When you are sent there all you have to do is talk to the contact you get and then return to the former one, without taking a mish ofc, sure there is a chance that some "non-hollows" mishes will be located there but they are few and rare....
That better then? -
[ QUOTE ]
I should have read the descriptions on my other shields last night! Doh. Thanks Brimmy.

hehe,, npsglad the minor´knowledge i have can be of use

[ QUOTE ]
Well i got to level 12, couldn't remember quite what my build plan was and took Obsidian shield!
Does anyone know if it protects from Endurance Drain also? Or is that another power in the set or is the hero planner incorrect?
[/ QUOTE ]
absidian doesnt protect against endurance drain, but murky cloud does.. -

oh stop it allready, what is this, like the 10000th thread about how bad the hollows is?
If you dont like it then dont do it, just go and talk to wincott and return to your regular contact....
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, because as Brimmy so politely makes clear to someone who is a new player to CoH, with a bluntly rude post, these forums aren't the place for expressing an opinion without someone jumping down your throat!

Whoever designed The Hollows must be a masochist. Now that said, i started the game with CoV in November and frankly after a day of CoH i can honestly says Villains are indeed spoiled mission/xp wise.
All the run back and forth is driving me insaneAnd to think i thought Port Oaks with no travel power was harsh? Crazy.
My Scrapper is now lvl 11 and i can't wait for Bloody Bay at least it will be somewhat close to newspaper missions on CoV.
[/ QUOTE ]
yeah when i came back to COH from a break I was not pleased with the inclusion of the hollows, its a really sucky zone imo

acrobatics is just useless, it detoggles for nothing.
i'd advice you to skip it and get yourself a heavy meele attack, total focus is great.. -

Unfortunatley, as I've used the test repec up already trying some tweaks to my current build, so I'll be there with my own Spines/Regen, using the level up facility to try some further tweaking stuff

well, technically, no you wont, youll have to make a new toon wich will be lvld to 40 when you logg it on... -
ye i'm not telling you what to do, each does what works best for them. and my "rule" is for me and my playstyle.

[ QUOTE ]
The level 32-38 powers NEED atleast one ACC SO, as well as ALL the other powers. You aren't going to be running double mire all day long, trust me. Put some ACC to the mires themselves, as they do not auto-hit - neither does Eclipse. Eclipse, btw, doesn't need 3 damage resistance slots. Change them to 1res, 1acc.
Stygian Circle doesn't need 3 heals. Put in an end reduction and an end modification.
Also, review My Warshade tri-form guide for I6

what he saidtake a good look at his guide as well, helped me loads with planning my ws

With 'healing' you feel like you're doing something...until you get into a good team, where no healing is needed. At that point, empathy becomes nothing more than handing out fort, auras and AB when they're available, which is boring as hell.
[/ QUOTE ]
when/if this happens there is time to enjoy the nice chatting and just being with nice ppl in a nice team.
