Well i am - but the only other option is MA/DA!
I know it's a borked combo, i know it's gonna take some effort - i know i'm gonna wanna give up at lvl 10 (like i do with all scrappers), but damned if i'm not gonna make it work!
I was going to suggest MA/SR.

MA/DA could be a very effective combination because both have control elements. The disorients from oppressive gloom and MA will stack well, and as MA isnt AoE intensive Clock of Fear would be useful too. As for end slotting 2 end red in each toggle and 1 in each attack (if you take 2 accuracy) shouldnt be too painful but will require toggle management unless theres a Speed Boost, RA, or AM going

MA/DA was the second ever toon i made - got to level 10 and eventually deleted. Was a bit underwhelmed by MA though due to animation times - didn't feel good - though i know now at later levels it improves.
Might go for that....still would like to do BS/DA just for kicks(or slashes tho)

I have a little (lvl 10) Broadsword experience, and have found it a neat set so far, nice damage, if it is a little slow.
I don't know the set well enough to comment on the powers though.
For DA, I'd say the main one that my li'l Satisfaction could lose is Murky Cloud (Elements resist I believe). Some would say that Death Shroud isn't worth it, but I think it's great, loads of damage really after you Soul Drain (or Build Up in your case) over a load of mobs.
I haven't gotten Satisfaction out in a few days, so am having trouble remember the power names. Basically at 32 I run The first (smash/leth res) shield, death shroud, the hold resist one, the fear one, cloak of darkness. Hmm I wonder if I'm missing anything from that list, possibly. The self-heal power is awesome, and does a little damage too. I think that's in the armour set. Maybe it's the end-boost one that's in armour. One of them is DA the other is DM... Sorry I forget, they are both awesome anyway!

Murky Cloud is your only source of Fire, Cold and (most importantly) Energy resistance. I don't really recommend not taking it.

Murky Cloud is your only source of Fire, Cold and (most importantly) Energy resistance. I don't really recommend not taking it.

The supposed Endurance Drain resistance should be a reason to take it as well.
I'll definitely be taking murky cloud - death shroud probably not - i do like it, having taken it previously on a /da, but doing a build that is already going to be very endurance hungry it's going to be of little help i feel.
BS Isn't that bad on End as some people think.
Only Whirling Sword and Headsplitter seem to take a chunk out of end, one can be easily avoided and the other can be slotted or put up with.
Not played a DA past lvl 10 so don't know how bad the end problems are on it.

I play a broadsword/super reflexes scrapper.
Why is broadsword good? Broadsword has massive damage and parry. Parry is one of the best defensive powers in the game. Every other shot I will parry. With broadsword my opinion is: your choices are limited and before 20 you will be in endurance problems, after that take stamina and all is fine. Also hasten will help Broadsword alot. It has got pretty long reloading times and benefits very very well from hasten.
You will have to think pre and after 32. Because at 32 you will get Head Splitter. My chain is: parry-head spliter-parry-Disembowel with hasten up and with hasten down I throw in an extra Hack or Slice depending on the situation.
I think you can skip Slash, Taunt and Whirling Sword (maybee even build up but some will disagree). But that depends on playstyle.
You are gona love the damage and you're gona love the defense from parry. And with head splitter and disembowel you can keep most bosses in a "down chain" single target control and damaging :P
Ok, so this is my build up to the epics - any comments most welcome - hopefully i won't need to do a respec, but it's quite possible i will depending on how things work out

I'd slot the toggles for endurance reduction before damage resistance, and I'd definitely replace the recharge reductions in Dark Regeneration with endurance reductions. It's quite an endurance hog (base endurance usage is ~34!). I'd place another heal increase in it as well, to make it acc/acc/end/end/heal/heal.
Obsidian Shield should be taken a lot earlier as well. It's your mez protection toggle... and without it, you'll most likely find yourself slept, held and disoriented a lot. If anything, it should most definitely find its way into the build before Acrobatics!
Was thinking about mobs with obsidian shields and how many mez before 30 - if i stay away from tsoo and cot, which i do most of the time it might be ok - kb is much more prevalent - but agree with what ur saying and will take acrobatics at 30 then and obsidian shield sometime earlier.
Dark regen i'll def change round - 2 acc, 2 end, 2 rech i think - i'd like it up as much as possible.

As long as you're not planning on doing any PvP in Bloody Bay, it could probably work out alright .

That too - sirens and up for me.
i would NOT take cobra strike since its a crappy power imo and instead put murky cloud on that spot, thus you can take obsidian ALOT earlier which you really need. the mezz protection is a must as early as possible..

Also, you've not included dark regeneration which is one of DA's saving graces.
Oh, and if taking super jump, hurdle is much better as it stacks with sj improving speed.

i see this as a "rule".

Super Speed + Hurdle
Having it like this makes up for what you will lack from the travel power....

My next project is gonna be a scrapper and i need some advice.
I'd like something i can PvE and PvP with, but i don't want to go with the cookies.
So, i'm thinking of doing something a little different and going with...
...BS/DA.
How can i make this work. Endurance is going to be a massive problem. Are there powers in either/both sets i can miss out on. Has anyone got any experience of using this particular combo?
I'm fairly sure this is going to need a respec at every opportunity and planned fairly meticulously, so 3 builds are what will be needed.
