It's been a fun time, guys. I'm going to miss the "usual suspects" just as much as I'll miss Pally and Kestrel.
Maybe someone else will come along and make us another great hero game and we'll all cross paths again. The world works in strange ways, sometimes.
If not... I'm happy to have known all of you and wish you many excellent adventures. ^_^ -
Count me in, too, Tony.
If there's a way to keep the lights on, even in perpetual "maintainence mode", I'm for it. -
I will once I get over being angry...
I get very, very strongly attached to the characters that I like the most, and the idea of losing Palrah and Kestrel and Nemissary makes me sadder than I can really explain, even though I knew all along that sooner or later the servers WOULD go dark and they WOULD be taken away from me. It was inevitable, and honestly I guess there is some rational part of my mind that accepted that gracefully.
That part isn't the bit that's running the show at the moment.
The bit that's in charge right now is furious. And disappointed. And utterly confounded at the timing.
Once it gets past all that, it's only going to be left with sad. And, when things are finally shut down, with a couple of holes where my sweet, goof-ball boy-scout of a tank, my ferocious, devoted stalker and my dreamer of a Death Mage ought to be.
I suspect it'll be the act of taking all of my birds back home to the Chantry that'll do it. I want to leave them where they belong... But it really is going to break a little piece of my heart saying goodbye. -
My "other MMO" is Aion...
Honestly, the way things are going over there, I seriously suspect AionNA will be the next thing up on the chopping block. -
The plushie eyeballs are freakin' adorable... Plushie!Kestrel and Plushie!Cardinal recommend them.

My own archery blaster, Keiranen, has been wearing "Regenerate This!" from the Underground trial for quite awhile. He's kind-of the snarky sort, so it fit his attitude.

Quote:You should try it on a Nova-form Peacebringer...Now I love my flight but gosh.. If so much end game stuff has these bizzaro patches of floating death that force me to cut my hover (and loose 2-5% Defense) Is it just better to take CJ? What about hover blasters? do you guys just train yourself to not pull up when you in danger? Because my first instinct is to fly up when I'm being pounded on! Oh and not just end game but I realized that the bubbles of doom in DFB might act in the same way. Some times you just get creamed but no bubbles ever appeared!
Quote:One solution for a ranged character is to stay high enough that the patches will be well above the rest of the team. I find that staying ~40' + in the air keeps the patches from becoming a problem, it keeps some of the patches away from the melee teammates and as an added bonus it keeps your squishie butt away from those friggin' swords.

Yeah. I get that you want a rodent head... but how does that make our request at all invalid? The request is just as old. This OP is far from the first person to bring it up.

I wish.
People (myself among them-) have been asking for feathery bits for ages. -

I'll admit it... I *like* getting new toys for my characters, so yes. I do look forward to the new slots. Even if they're not particularly impressive or showy powers, they're still something to tinker around with that we haven't had before. I also like the majority of the Incarnate content we've gotten so far, both League and solo/small team, so I'm all for more of that as well.
What I absolutely do NOT look forward to, though, is another round of endlessly running one single iTrial over and over and over and over again to unlock each new slot we get, a la Hybrid/Magi.
I have a lot of 50s.
Most of them are Incarnates.
It gets VERY old, VERY fast when you have to run the same damned thing multiple times on all of them. <_< -
I've had a great time with the Summer movies... No matter which character I ran it with or what the group looked like, it was good entertainment and those procs have been a Very Good Thing for my Peacebringers.
Our best time? A pre-formed group of four Masterminds (Demons/Thermal, Demons/Dark, Bots/Time and Ninja/Forcefield). They just tore everything in the place apart.
Our worst time? Finishing it duo with a Kin defender and a DB tank. (We started with four, but two DCed at the beginning of the second film. FCM and I decided to see if Rush and Palrah could finish it on their own. They did. But it took. freakin. forever. to kill Sylvia. o_0) -
Quote:This.Exclusives are all fine and dandy on their own right, but costume exclusives are just not the right way to do it. You know, since pretty much the majority of the appeal of this game over other MMOs is its rampant customization.
I have both of the auras and the facepalm /em (Which I love enough to have key-bound on almost all of my crew-), as well as a lot of the other "exclusives" that have gone out over the years, and it wouldn't bother me *at all*... not one little bit... to see ANY of that stuff show up in the Market. The Tier 9 VIP and Elemental Order costumes and the Black Wolf, likewise.
If you guys feel like you just HAVE to have exclusives for what-ever reason, that's fine... But making them non-exclusive after some period of time is more than fair in my opinion. The "Special Snowflakes" among us would still get to show off and feel unique for awhile that way, without locking out other players who might want those items down the line. -

Quote:This. For red side I'd rather keep having my own war ship from part 1. But I know darn well I'm gonna get screwed out of that before the story's over.
I think my exact words on finishing Part 1 were on the order of "Kestrel's *really* going to hate having to give up her new toy". Because we all know good and well there's no way they'll let us keep it. -
We don't have the long hair or longer, flowing costume bits... which has always made me a bit sad, myself.

Rikti designation: Target practice.

Quote:Villain-side, I think it depends a lot on who the boys go for... Some combinations are a fairer fight than others.Villain side, the NPC allies where useless anyway, barely lasting a few seconds.
Hero side, the NPC allies blasted everything in sight before I could get a look in.
But yeah, Penny...
When I ran it with Kestrel, Castillo went right for Nocturne. Who, as you might expect, absolutely ripped the poor guy to shreds. Odysseus went after Sands and just kicked his butt all over the room. He was completely done with Mister-Yeah-I-Forgot-My-Helmet, and had taken a fair chunk out of Nocturne by the time I was finished with Ghost Widow.
I suspect if they had switched targets, both of them would still have been standing at the end of the fight. -
I haven't run the blue-side version yet, but had a blast taking Kestrel through the red... In particular I loved the Arachnos "boss fight". (Though Kes is going to be in a little hot water with her boss over beating the snot out of GW, I suspect. "Aw, come on Im... She started it!"
) Castillo continues to make me grin pretty much every time he shows up.

Quote:I have. (Twice, actually... Although I suspect the first one I sent Tuesday afternoon may not have gone through, to be fair. The post-send page stalled, and that's usually a bad sign-)Bright, send Hit Streak a PM here on the forums to check on that with your Twitter name. It's possible it's an oversight and can be cleared up easily.
Ashes to ashes,
Pheonyx
I've also sent two Tweets about it.
At this point, I've honestly given up on it. The dots are cute, but they just aren't worth wasting much more time on... Call the whole business a case of "lesson learned", I guess.
ETA: And now I'm going to grin and say "YAYS!" ... because Hit Streak got the second PM and sent me my dots. Thanks again for that. ^_^ -
Quote:I've been doing the same, but it hasn't made a difference. When I got mine, it was from just typing the first one in the middle that my eyes fell on, rather than working from top or bottom.
After not getting an aura code last week, in spite of doing everything they asked (and having both tweets and a PM about that completely ignored- <_<)... and seeing the speed at which entire lists of grab-codes vanish... I think i'm officially done with this Twitter business. It's more of a pain in the rear than anything remotely like "fun". -

I'd still love to have Rikti as an Epic AT option...
