Well, I doubt we'll see Aang though, given Korra is the new Avatar. Another thing I'm curious about is if Korra is the new Avatar:
Year 0 : The last Air Bender ends
Year 55 (estimate) : Korra is born
Year 70 : The Legend of Korra

Sooo...that would mean Aang died at around the physical age of 70-ish? Kinda young for an Avatar, don't you think?

Maybe part of the story is how Aang died so young? Although I AM more curious who Toph eventually ends up with.
  7. I'm from 'freedumb' and even then, I've rarely seen any people in the PvP zones. Granted, I'm usually in BB picking up a fresh batch o' radioactive alien but I've only been attacked once in 3 months (both as red and blue side)...and that was because I actually asked someone passing by if they wanted to fight.

Form your earlier post, I had thought you meant events that happened in PvP Zones DIRECTLY affected PvE zones in some way. For example:
    - If the <b>Heroes</b> gain the 'advantage' in BB, you could see a marked increase in Longbow Spawns in the 1-25 lvl PvE zones. Or you could see an increase in frequency of Longbow/PPD newpaper missions. The reverse could hold true if red-side gains the advantage.

I have no idea if this is actually feasible within the framework of the system but at the very least I know I would play it for a bit For how long, I have no idea since I have the attention span of a...hey...is that a shiney?

    *wanders off*

Edit: so I'm correcting myself. At best, what I was thinking is purely cosmetic and doesnt really benefit the game much.

While the emotes are cool enough many people don't really like them that way because they are cumbersome to use without keybinding them.

I figure the only way we'll ever get new travel powers in CoX is for them to be part of a paid booster pack like this. They would take so much extra work that's probably the only way our Devs could justify the time and effort involved.

Exactly! Certain nice-to-have travel powers would require completely new animations just to work properly while a few (such as the cloud/surfboard suggestion above) could at least partially reuse existing animations such as from Power Slide. Heck, our characters already enter the pose in the Ski events

Now, actually coding the objects to ride...that's a different beast altogether.

Ooooh. Good ideas. I had simply thought of adopting the CO's TP animation. Didn't really think of changing just the actual TP effect. Given how fast TP works though, I can see how it may be an issue to actually pick an effect that we could actually see to enjoy. Hmm...

*imagines City of Ninjas with smoke cloud*
  9. That's true. I didn't think of that .
  10. So I just came from the Open Beta of CO and most of the travel powers there, while technically are re-skinned versions of our classic powers, would be nice QoL additions to CoH. I tried searching for some posts but couldn't find any suggestions yet. If I simply missed the thread, please let me know and I'll move this stuff to the appropriate section.

Travel powers unlikely to be added soon. As mentioned in a sticky, probably unlikely due to the game engine:
    Tunneling
    Grappling hook
    Crawling/Running up walls
Fly - Yes, we do have fly. However, what CO did right (to me) is add the fact when you turn while flying, the character model actually banks while continuing to look in the direction the camera is facing (although wings don't flap when moving forward which I'm still undecided on is a good or bad thing). I don't see this happening as part of a possible Travel pack but it's a nice to have QoL and thought I'd mention it.

    Travel powers that seem doable.

Ice/Earth/Cloud/Hoverboard fly. - A nice option. I could possibly see this as a toggle Fly power similar to the Powerslide power. I don't even care if we don't get the banking/looking option but for these options alone I'd definitely pay a pack to get. Well...maybe not these options alone. Add in some Fixed Wing back option as well and you've got me sold.
Teleport - Hmm...difficult to say...Like I read in someone's post, it's basically a Phase-Shift + Sprint + Jet Pack. Could maybe even use the Light Form animation if one were to try to mimic it but power wise it seems possible within the framework. While I already enjoy the insta-travel of our current TP, some additional control might be a nice QoL addition. Plus it just felt a lot cooler than Blink-Poof-I'm gone.
Fire Fly - While we can do this with Auras/Toggles, some people might not want to take fire-themed toggles and Auras have to wait till Level 30. Might be worth a look-see to add this to a Travel Pack.
Acrobatics - Could be a merger between a semi-SS and semi-SJ. Maybe half the cap/max of the full versions?

And for powers that we can already do on our own (albeit with some crafting)
Rocket Boots - Fly + costume pieces. I think I'd like to keep it that way so there's still a need for the crafting
Jump Boots - SJ + costume pieces can to do this. Would be nice to get the crater effect when we land though.

Any other re-skinned travel powers people feel like adding?

As was said below, while the powers itself seem possible within the framework It's the animations which may take a lot of work. Which is why I'm willing to pay for a pack for these

    BUWAHAHAHA!!!! I couldn't resist!

  15. My controller, Raven, was created by the Circle of Thorns as part of a human-demon hybrid experiment by merging a part of the Envoy's power with one of their kidnapped victims. If the CoT were defeateds she would probably try to slowly fade into the background, become a librarian, anything to isolate herself as she still feels like she doesn't really belong with the rest of humanity (her 'father' being the Envoy of Shadows is what led to this feeling).

My tank, Captain Supremo, would continue to serve in some legal/peace keeping capacity as this was his original reason for putting on the cape.

My other tank would return to being an ordinary school girl, her only reason for taking up crime fighting was that crooks 'annoyed' her to no end whenever they'd cause a ruckus. She wants nothing more than to live a normal life. She would, however, continue to hang around Raven as she considers the other girl her best friend.

My villain would try to take over another dimension as soon as she overthrew Recluse You know the feeling. Once you pop, you can't stop

Actually, I have such a predjudice against abusive Stalkers, I take it out on all Stalkers. Which, is not polite. I will be playing my Ice/Ice Blaster or my Controllers in Siren's Call, and even if I am one shot away from defeating a Villain, if I see a Stalker suddenly appear somewhere on the playing field, I go right for them and leave the other to get away if they can

I have very limited PvP experience. A few times, being the Arena when it first came out. Pretty fun given it was a controlled environment.

Bloody Bay was my next PvP experience. I wanted to see what the place was all about and saw "Ooooh. Meteors? Mission? I'm there." While I was doing my mission, some Stalker 'uncloaked' beside me and tried to take me down. Unfortunately for him, my controller (who was only PvE spec'd) turned out to be more than a match for him. I had him chain-held for quite a bit too. Nearly arrested the bugger till he SJ'd away from me. Blasted Fly not fast enough to catch up...

Ah well, when it strikes my fancy again I may try to get that temp power in Bloody Bay once more.

  18. Or it could be a hybrid system.

For major events (bear with me, I have no idea what the devs will implement for the SG raids and all) such as capture the base or take some major important item, schedule it but word it as a previous poster said to keep the RP feel to it.

For events which don't have a permenent effect on the base the raid system can still be used. Maybe wreck it which causes some status effect on all members of the SG: "Your base was attacked last night and destroyed. Since your base was destroyed, all SG members need to pay 1/2 of all inf you WILL earn to the repair of the base" or to something like that.

It somewhat prevents griefing because whatever was lost can be easily regained and you can still have those epic battles

    Just my 2 inf
  19. I have a poor lvl 14 Grav/FF controller. She doesn't have Wormhole yet but she does have Dimension Shift. For me its a 50/50 toss-up as an "Oh crap" power. 1/2 of the time, I use it to phase out mobs I don't want to deal with (I solo with this controller ) while i take out a smaller number. The increased recharge will greatly affect my play style since I can no longer rely on it as a buffer against getting overwhelmed.

As for the new wormhole, I've never used it but it looks like it can enhance or replace my Dimension Shift in the sense that i can remove a group of mobs I don't want to deal with at the moment. The almost nonexistent disorient is something I hope gets looked at though.

    Just my 2 inf.

  21. I love your guide! I'm building a new hero right now (currently lvl 10) based on your guide. Wish me luck
  22. I spent several hours online over the weekend. Got me all 6 badges on 2 characters, and 5 badges on a third.

While I did find badge hunting fun, it was more fun since I was with a group of people. Even when my 2 characters already got the 6 badges, I stayed around to help the ones who still didn't have theirs.

Since I wouldn't be able to play CoH for the next few months and the fact that Halloween only comes around once a year, yeah I enjoyed just clicking on doors with my team mates.

The best part of the event, IMHO, was hunting Eochai. I mean, we weren't in it for the xp. We just wanted to kick his big pumpkin head and make pumpkin pie...as many times as we could.

Overall, congratulations to a great event. I'm looking forward to seeing more fun stuff here in Paragon City.

P.S. On the plus side, the badges actually fit one of my characters background of hating the CoT and anything remotely supernatural so I'm happy.
