The Curse of Pie!

I posted this in another thread but then I remember that there are so many other people out there who love Pie... well, I just wanted to share.

Reading through different threads here and there, I see that some people want to be able to not just pick their Patron Powers for CoV, but then if they don't like them they want to respec out of the Patron they choose. And are upset because they cannot. From a Rp point of view, I can just picture it.

(You stand before the intimidating form of the Spectal Ghost Widow. Her life-barren eyes judge you and find you worthy of her blessing. She approaches you with arms outspread as if to embrace you in her death touch, yet you do not fear her. You know that you are about to receive a gift she rarely bestows upon her servants.

But what gift will that be? The thought troubles you. And will it have pretty lights when the power is used? What color is it? Will you have to wait 5 minutes before you can use it again? And, ohmygod, what if she bestows something you can't see very well, like some kind of resistance to physical damage?

The thoughts trouble you further as Ghost Widow leans in to grant you this gift from beyond. You are about to become her Patron... her loyal servant! Forever!!

"Hold it, GW", you say, raising your hand in a halting motion.

Ghost Widow withdraws her embrace with concern somehow stretched upon her pale countenance.

"What is it, my fiercest Warrior?" She asks.

You pause, wanting to be careful in your word choice for what you are about to say.

"Ummm.... this Gift. Uhh... I'm wanting something flashy, ya know? Something that will fit someone like me. Do you have anything like that? Because if you don't, I just may not want to be your Patron."

Ghost Widow pauses in mid-air. Were you able to read her dead mind you might be surprised to learn that for the first time since her return from the grave Ghost Widow wished that she had her eyes again so that she could roll them back into here head to display the ridiculousness of your request.

In response to your audacity, Ghost Widow leans in toward you with one outstretched hand.

"Such a brave request from such a brave servant." Her words sounded more like a snake's hiss than a compliment. " Such bravery should be rewarded."

You smile with pride as Ghost Widow touches your forehead with one cold finger of her outstretched hand. You feel dizzy at her death-touch. Your skin grows pale at first, but then you notice that the dizziness is replaced with a dryness that starts in your mouth and then spreads downward into your body and then outward across your skin.

" The gift I give you shall be great indeed, oh Brave one. " Her voice seemed miles away even though she was right before your very eyes, not even a foot away from you.

You notice that the dryness faded from feeling, as did everything else for a few brief moments. Next, you felt the life return to you along with a strong new energy that wanted badly to escape from you. But, clenching your teeth you held firm with your will to keep it contained. What POWER she must have bestowed upon you!

" Great is the power of Pie! " Her voice boomed and echoed as if she were in some great catherdral. " You dare ask with specificity? Let my gift be your curse, mortal. Now the only power you have is to create Pie ( again the echo ) for any villain who asks for it, yet never be able to indulge in it yourself. Serve me you shall, but only after dinner, you Worm!"

Ghost Widow's laugh threatens to break your eardrums with its great volume. You realize that your small-minded pickiness has indeed brought upon the wrath of one who does not forgive. You are regretful at last, as the thoughts of all who love Pie will be lining up for you to serve them. You, too, love Pie... but to never get to have any yourself? Oi! What a dreadful mistake you have made.

Beware... the Curse of Pie exists.
