Quote:hmmm...honestly...I have no idea what you're talking about. Why would you want this trash on a stalker? This set has not been good on scrappers since issue 2 when you could go perma-unstoppable and it has not been great on tanks since issue 4. So why would you want this? True enough you could work magic with IOs but you should not need IOs just so its workable.
Going purely by SOs, Id consider most of the sets pretty even.
Have you tried SD with SOs? Burn through END, not enough defense, no self heal.
So counting IOs, INV is perfectly fine. -
Quote:I had no idea where their thread was. So awesome you did it!I went and verified that, then reported it in the update thread. <.<

Quote:Eh. Most people don't actually like the idea of paying extra for it. I'm sure there's been more than one forum goer who's said "Id pay extra for it" and didnt really mean it.You know, I once made a thread asking about just this subject; making animation sets that were purchasable and what they'd have to be to be worthwhile. Just plain vanilla alternate animations crammed into current times for some powers? Weapon options added to non-weapon powers and vice versa? Entire themes crafted with the effects of a set? And you know what the majority of the junk that filled that thread was about? How it wouldn't be worth the time, that it wasn't necessary, or speculation on how it'd be overpowered or something... Pisses me off because a lot of good discussion could have been had like, what may need to happen to get wands and guns for sets like Fire and Ice blast and power themes that fit the concept of existing sets. Nope, just filled it with BS and got on my nerves. Wonderful.

Me. Id just love to get the animations of at least StJ and MA combined. They'd be great to mix and match. MA already has something close to Sweeping Cross as an alternate for one power. -
-
Quote:You do have a point. It was more for just an additional "Oooooh! Higher resists!"The question I'd have to ask is "where is that really going to make a difference?"
Now, I'll grant that electric, with the right IOs can get enough psi res that a hair more from resil will make a meaningfull difference, but negative is quite low on that set anyway, and f/c doesn't usually make or break things. -
Quote:I think I was hitting around 89.5% for S/L Resist, might have hit 90% with my slotting, I don't recall. :/You'll get about 4.66% more to s/l assuming tough, you'll get about 3.26 more to fire, cold, psi.
except... If you have cardiac, you're most probably already capped to S/L, so you're talking about a fairly minimal benefit.
I tried these two a lot on test with an Ele/TW and it was always my impression that cardiac was significantly better than resil. This on the set that is arguably most able to benefit from the extra +res on resil, and ignore the endredux on cardiac.
Now: If you have a cardiac build that doesn't cap s/l res, but would with resil, then I could see the argument, however, I would venture the counterargument that you probably could get that extra few percent somewhere else and stay with cardiac... limiting the debate, again, to the virtue of 3.26% more fire, cold and psi.
Maybe if you're gunning really hard for psi res?
But I was liking the idea of having even more F/C/N/P Resist witht he almost softcapped S/L Defense -
I know it would likely create a little extra work without the payoff (or not as much as one), but I think it'd be nice, great, awesome if they'd just take the animations of all three sets and make them alternate animations for the others.
Personally, I'd love to combine MA and StJ animations!
I'd much rather have Eagle's Claw animation instead of Crushing Uppercut's animation.
It's be a bit faster on StJ, so they'd have to shave some time off EC for StJ, but that would be love!
StJ and MA have been shown to be pretty equal in terms of ST DPS, not sure where they stand on AOE DPS, but I think even with shared animations between them, people will flock to one set or the other purely on the mechanical grounds (some people just won't care for StJ's combo system).
Also I'd like to get Storm Kick's animation on my StJ user.
Storm Kick, Rib Cracker, Spinning Strike, Eagle's Claw...that to me would make for one of the best hand to hand fighters in CoH animation wise. I know, it's all personal opinion, but still!
I'd even pay a little extra for it if needed. And I hate to suggest that for animations they already have, but seeing as how trimming of animation times and adding a bit for others would have to be done, and they'd likely want to see a bit of added return for it to make it worth their time now, Id do it! -
Quote:This would likely be my route when it came to the Interface as well, but there is something to be said about adding a new damage type to the mix as well.Well, if you are going that route, I would suggest taking Preemptive Radial Interface to add to your endurance sapping/recovery stopping - the DoT does the same damage as Reactive does anyway.
But I'd likely go Preemptive due to lots of people using Reactice, increase the sapping potential, and likely to work with the concept better (of course there's exceptions to this). -

Quote:While I think WP is a great set, and suggest it to many while telling them they may find it boring with it's toggle and go playstyle, I have to say INV having that one click heal does make a difference in the feel of a toggle and go set.Just so I understand it, you dislike WP because it is "Toggle up and go", but you recommend Inv instead? Inv has fewer toggles (more passives) than WP, and the only regular click power is Dull Pain. So...1 click once in a while takes a set from boring to nonstop excitement?
Why not just open up with "I don't like WP, and I think there are too many WP characters in the game", and not try to hide the real origin of your opinion?
Some of us LIKE having a secondary that we don't need to fuss around with, particularly with a primary that attacks as fast as StJ. I find having to micromanage my defenses to be very boring, when it's not very irritating. Under no circumstances is it ever fun or exciting or interesting. Perhaps when dispensing advice, you could at least pretend to have some objectivity on the matter.
WP on Stalkers for instance is more fun for me to play as I feel the use of Reconstruction adds to more than just hitting attack buttons, and thusly I continue to wish they'd make WP 2 for Scrappers, where RTTC is replaced by Reconstruction.
I'm probably in the minority on that want though
To the OP, I suggest StJ/SD, but that's because I personally didn't care for EA on Scrappers. But admittedly that's because I don't like how the mez protection has to be turned off to effectively use the Stealth power.
Though, I have been enjoying my StJ/Regen. It's level 50 with some of Incarnate abilities unlocked and plays nicely
It'd be fully Incarnated by now if it wasn't for me trying to level up my ELA/TW Tanker.

I like the idea of Agility.
End Mod to give your Electric Melee attacks a bit more sapping potential.
Not to mention a bit more END Recovery, from both buffing up Stamina and I believe also sapping end from your enemies with a few of the ELM attacks that allow you to sap energy back to yourself.
More Defense! Always a plus! Softcapped already? Get a bit more defense for the iTrials and likely for the Dark Astoria Solo Incarnate Content.
Lastly, MORE RECHARGE! \o/ Lightning Rod and Shield Charge both with more up time!
Just seems like the right pairing for ELM/SHIELD. -
Quote:I think Invincibility will likely need to be changed to a constant buff rather than a scaling buff if they keep to past scaling powers for Stalkers (WP and EA).Hello fellow forumites!
As the title suggests, this post is about the Invulnerability secondary for the Stalker AT. I'd initially considered posting it in the Stalker forum, though I figure more people who've had experience with the set will see it here.
That out of the way; the devs have stated, in regards to proliferation, that they will eventually proliferate every set that make sense. Is this such a set?
Would Invuln. work well on Stalkers? If so, what would need to be changed?
Just drop Tough Hide for Hide and call it a day? Or would more drastic changes be in order, here?
Personally, I would love to see it ported over sooner than later but, I'm curious what others think on the matter.
Regards,
TR
Tough Hide seems like the obvious choice to go with replacing for Hide, as Hide will replace the defense aspect of Tough Hide.
Though I wouldn't be suprised if it was Resist Energies, if they want to help keep the set more focused on not being hit, which tends to favor the Stalker playstyle for many.
If they really want to keep it awesome for Stalkers, I'd keep Tough Hide, replace Resist Energy for Hide, and rename Resist Physical Damage to Resist Damage and have it resist all that Resist Physical Damage and Resist Energy Damage can. -
I'm trying to decide between these two Alpha's for my ELA/TW Tanker, with the deciding factor being, how much more +Resist will I get out of using Resilent (+33% Resist) vs Cardiac (20%)
Is it in the range of an additional 3-5% Resists? -
Quote:I believe we were also telling people in game. I know I was. It's great that you and others went on a 'crusade' to inform others to get the pack while it was available. Unfortunately, not everyone searchs the forums for specific information regarding game purchases and, believe it or not, many rely on Paragon's official announcements to make their purchasing decisions. Said official announcement made it sound as if you had to have Titan Weapons to get the free weapon pack ...
Limited time bonus: Purchase the Titan Weapons Power Set and get Weapon Pack: Titan Weapons #1 free until December 19!
For a limited time, purchase the Titan Weapons Power Set in the Paragon Market™, and you can purchase the Weapon Pack: Titan Weapons #1 for free! This brand new pack contains four (4) additional Titan Weapons (in-game models) for the Titan Weapons Power Set:
Atomic Smasher
Demonic Axe
Plasma Sword
Purgatory Sword
This offer is only available for two weeks; after December 19, the Weapon Pack: Titan Weapons #1 will be removed from the Paragon Market and reintroduced at a later date, so hurry and receive these new Titan Weapons customization options for no additional Paragon Points!
I'm a little annoyed that Paragon deliberately misadvertised the fact that you actually did NOT need to have Titan Weapons to get the free pack. I resigned myself to the fact that I wouldn't have enough Paragon Points to purchase Titan Weapons until after Christmas and so would have to pay for the pack. Now I'm discovering that isn't true. How silly of me to assume that the "official" announcement would be, you know, accurate. -
I agree! It'd be a nice improvement!

Quote:Not really. Those who hold the star and form the team, to my knowledge are suppossed to beable to decide who is and isnt allowed on their team for whatever reason.Yes, punishing the studio. I don't know where you got that idiotic "indentured servitude" nonsense, though. Yes, removing his payment to them because of a player being a jerk. Sure, it may factor into the "is it fun" thing, but, really, it's not Paragon's fault. Pretty sure what he described was a reportable incident, too. Just seems stupid to quit the game as a knee-jerk response to one person's (richard) move.
Sucks in some ways, great in others. -
Quote:This is true. But then they do the same thing in say political movies, where it's not a matter of entertainment. To be fair while corporations occasionaly do positive (and sometimes even heroic) things, these things are rarely stories that make for entertaining films. "Y-corp gives millions to charity, charities are happy, the end." On the other hand, when corporations do bad things, those things are often wrapped in the kind of stuff that makes or can make for interesting stories; subertfuge, corruption, sercrets & lone heroes standing against them.
(actually Stark Industuries can be portrayed as ethical most of the time, and while I only just started playing Deus Ex - Human Revolution, Sarif Industries is presented positively)
Well, movies are made by corpoations.
Personally, I just dont let that part bother me if it makes for an entertaining movie!
I want to be entertained! ENTERTAIN ME!

I'm actually a bit confused now.
Everyone against the OP seems to be saying he's a racist or something else negative, when I'm going over the thread looking for where exactly this is.
Or is it because he said "this wouldn't have happened in this time period" and thusly, because the movie used actors who wouldn't have been in that role in that actual period of time, he's a racist?
o.O
Though, in reference to Flyboys character of Eugene Skinner, he was based off a real pilot. His relations to those in the squadron, I have no idea.
But the characters in the movie were loosely based on real life figures, rather than exact portrayals, likely due to the fact that it probably wouldn't have been as entertaining of a movie otherwise. -
Truthfully, I'm not to displeased with Tankers current inherent, and if they changed it, I'd ask, why not just increase the -resist given in Bruising, or make it stackable from multiple Tankers.
-
I am not one of those players that says "Only need one tank on the team" I am not one of those players that says "Tanks shouldn't beable to do damage"
As a player, my only thought on the role of the Tanker is to do one thing...jump into the next spawn and take the alpha strike for the team!
Anything after that is just gravy in my eyes.
Though, I always thought of them a bit of a controller. Instead of locking down the spawns, they lock all the spawns onto them, then try to survive it while the team lays waste.
I do think Bruising was a great benefit to Tankers (not sure if it's enough) in that I know I hated dealing with single hard targets to a stand still. I'm willing to build for that added damage, but I want most of the combos in an AT to beable to reach the point of (to me) feeling like they are a hero/villain that can stand one on one with an AV/Hero and win against at least some of them (there will of course always be exceptions for a lot of the combos).
If I was to make any real changes to Tankers, well it would include manyc hanges to other ATs and be a different game all together, so as of now, my only hope with Tankers on the team is for them to run right into the next spawn hoping they survive it or that the team will be right behind them in time to make sure they do.
Basically, I hate slow moving teams
For when I'm playing the tank, well, it would be nice if I didnt have that shield scrapper pulling aggro off me IA Tanker with two taunt auras, punchvoke and taunt going.

Quote:I am glad to see this change the devs have in store for Stalkers, for Dual Blades, but at the same time, DB falls in line with StJ for me. It's lack of Typhoon's Edge, ruins the set for me. Not because it's some monster of damage attack, but because the attack to me is just a major part of the DB set.I have thought about the same, Test_Rat. I think Stalker DB will be more appreciated with the coming changes, if too much won't be changed, of course, because it offers stalkers another relatively AoE heavy set.
But yes, seeing the combo's be made easier to use for DB if this change goes through, is an awesome plus, and does make for a more AOE set for Stalkers, that people may actually play more of. -
Quote:And that's fine imo. Do I wish Thunder Kick would get replaced in MA by Dragon's Tail? Yes! YES I DO!I know. Part of the balance between AoE-oriented and ST-oriented sets is that AoE set doesn't have very good ST attack. Well, Spines and Elec will have an awesome ST attack later, while sets like MA and EM will lag behind even more.
But they seem relunctant to do that. :/
I might be willing to accept Crane Kick being replaced (due to most people hating the KB, is why I say CK) for Dragon's Tail, IF and only IF they give Cobra Strike, Crane Kick's animation as an alternate.
But, yes, I don't expect every set to be even, and with these changes, my guess is that Martial Arts and Energy Melee will still out ST DPS ELM, but admittedly, ELM will likely have enough ST DPS most people won't care.
But still, I'm okay with this. If you're going to have a list of power sets, then some of those power sets are going to be on the bottom.
Now when I say this and I am okay with this, this doesn't include new pay for them sets, which I think if they expect people to pay for new sets, then they'll have to be pretty decent sets overall. -
I've tried to enjoy Sonic Resonance so many times. Ive yet to get it to 50.
However, I do have some thoughts in how to tweak the set, without changing it to much.
Disruption Field let it target an enemy! My only real complaint with this power is that it requires an ally. this is fine for a MM, but for my Corr, it's suckie. :/ Maybe make the change for Corrs/Defenders and leave it the way it is for Trollers/MMs who can get pets. Or just MMs, since not all Trollers can get pets to use it on.
Clarity! Change it up! Make it different from all the other sets with a similar power. Yes, Sonic offers Mez Protection with Sonic Dispersion. Let them add so much more! AOE team buff (except for self if wanted, either way is fine imo) with a full 2-4 minute buff.
Liquefy! Lower that recharge! 90 - 120 seconds! Personally I'd prefere if it could become permable with enough (reasonable) recharge.
