Quote:genius!i have to say i'm not seeing the logic. The less players there is, the better these players have to play to complete the trial successfully.
On a standard 24 men pug baf, i'd say easily one third to one half of the league is close to dead weight. The more players you have, the less each of them has to actually play, to the point that people can actually leech and still get rewards just fine. One of my friends actually pushes that to the extreme by using his defender with a debuff on auto while he plays another account doing another activity entirely on a different server. -

Quote:That's not how rating reviews work.Well, in that case, they should remove the cigar option for males.

Cigar smoking for men may seem standard fare, while cigar smoking for women push those limits.
I doubt it was because of ratings though.
It probably has more to do with not many female superheroes smoking cigars, when they made game.
Might be hesitant to add them now for a lot of reasons. While I know at one point they did this, not sure if it has stuck, but they had characters stop smoking cigarettes, cigars could be next.
Could be as simple as looking stupid on the female faces.
Im not against the idea to have cigars added for females. I have no characters to make use of it, but then I have no characters to make use of a lot of the costume options.

Quote:Actually. you're wrong on this one.Complete bull, and we have a precedent: Task Forces. People have been duoing or even soloing difficult task forces, but there have not been mass calls for removing the requirement of initial number of players.
This check makes it super easy to grief a trial. Join a trial that plans to run with the minimum number of players, then do nothing. If they kick you, THEY FAIL THE TRIAL! It's ridiculous.
If a TF drops to 1 person, then the TF ends.
If a trial drops to a minimum amount of people, then it ends.
The difference seems to be, is if someone DCs or logouts of the trial, they're out. If someone DCs or logouts of a TF, they're still in and can log back into it. -
Quote:I think this needs to be cleared more, because it needs to stop being said.Just so this can't keep being used as justification: Dual Pistols can turn off its knockback at the cost of a +ToHit/+Dmg buff click.
Dual Pistols can turn off it's Knockback, because it's gimmick IS BECAUSE it's gimmick is switching between effects.
Yes, it gave up an AIM power for this, to make room for this power, but that's besides the point.
Just because Dual Pistols can turn off its Knocback doesn't mean all other knockpowers should be able to be turned off or changed on the whim.
If you don't like the knockback, don't roll the set. -
Quote:If it wasn't for changing the IO sets, I still think the best suggestion for these sets is removing...Stalker's problem also has more to do with some of the old sets that don't get any aoe at all. The newer sets like Dual Blade, Electricity Melee and Kinetic Melee are what I consider "good enough".
Sets like Martial Arts and Energy Melee still need more love.
...Thunder Kick for Dragon's Tail. Not sure if it breaks the cottage rule to do so. But they did turn Stalkers Eviserate into a ST attack after the fact, if memory serves me correctly.
Move it up on the Power levels and move other attacks down the list.
...Stun for Whirling Hands. Stun isn't even almost okay damage, and Whirling Hands still stuns. Whirling Hands may not be the best PBAOE attack (could be made into one though) but its AOE. -
Quote:I'd say it is rare, as forum goers are rare, and it's not every virtue forum goer who does it.Glad I'm not the only one who has made this observation. =3
In defense of the D,however, I have met some great people/characters there, and even found a great VG to join, finally. Of course, this is pretty seldom, but I still find myself going back once in a while because the odds of making a friend there are still better than in random iTrial PUGs and speed TFs.
I know PD is a popular RP hub because it allows both sides to mingle, but I think it's also the fact that it is not a mission hub, outside of special events. Some have mentioned other co-op zones as potential RP hubs, but they will never work well due to the latter. A good RP location requires very few barriers to entry and a lack of mission/quest content in the immediate area to keep general traffic and chatter low. As a result, PD remains the only "attractive" RP environment, despite the other more interesting locations we have. The people who -do- RP in other, more public places tend to do so privately to avoid the haters, so it's never really clear when RP is even happening.
On the forums I always read the claims from people who RP at any time, with any one, any where, and on any team. My in-game experience tells me that is a rare occurrence.
Have I RPed on PuGs? Yes. Is it common? No. More of a mood set for me. Had some fun times when I do do it though.

I'm not really for it.
You're being shielded with fire! You should be covered in fire. If it distracts from your costume, then ask not to be shielded.
That said, I'll say it again, give us new animations for the shields.
The original competition has awesome effects for Ice Armor and Fire Armor, which would be awesome to have here. -
Quote:I'd agree with this post.At this point billions of inf are not as needed as before, because there are now so many ways to get the good IO w/o buying them. You should come up with a dream build and arrange your second build slot for it. Then you can run one on SOs, and switch to the second when you have IOs you want to slot in it.
Also, I would suggest at lvl 50 using TO inventions instead of the SO. IIRC, they have a better % than SOs at 50. Again, if inf is an issue, run SOs and slot the IOs as you find them.
Bank your orange salvage as you find it also, that can save you inf in the long run also.
As for slotting, that is going to vary depending on what you want out of the build. My DB/WP is slotted for Heal, HP, and Recharge. Others prefer to soft cap for +def. If you are going for just SOs, or TOs because of cost, you are going to be looking at the standard scrapper building for attacks. There I run 2 acc (some run 1 acc here, but I HATE to miss), 3 dmg, 1 rech post lvl 40, change the rech to an end reduction for pre 40.
For WP with IOs, I slot heals or whatever else the power may accept as it's primary power type.
Hope this helps some.
Edit: BrandX and I seem to think a lot alike I am finding as of late.
Come up with a dream build, then slot your build using SOs., replacing them out as you get the IOs.
For instance on my DB/WP I have Nimble Slice 4 slotted. I'd slot it with 1 ACC/3 DMG or 2 ACC/2 DMG SOs untill I got the 4 Kinetic Combat's slotted into them.
And yeah, the most expensive build is easy enough to obtain, if you're just willing to do the content.
Reward Merits, Astral Merits, Emp Merits, Alignment Merits...all this makes getting what used to be impossible builds, possible. -
Quote:HELL YES!If stalkers did about ~20% higher damage than they do now, lack of AoE or not, squishie defenses or not, I'm sure there'd be plenty more people playing them.
Truthfully, it's just the lack of ST DPS that keeps me from getting into Stalkers.
Yes, I know Assassin Strike will make that DPS better. But taking a softcapped Stalker out against hard targets, and seeing my placate get blasted through and negating me using the Assassin Strike I was setting up to use, or even just AVs having so high of perception, that I couldn't even sneak up on them. :/ I had to rely on defense to hopefully get that first AS off. -
You know, something the devs could do, is look over the sets, and give them all a few "alternate power picks"
Much like the Widows have the option of Follow Up or Build Up. Once they pick one, they're locked out of the other.
The devs could do something similar.
I do see the problem of people flocking to the one people consider the min/max power of choice, and then wondering why the power just wasn't changed all together to begin with though, if the better power was the new one.
Sure a few die hards may stick with the old one, but most new players I'd imagine would take the newer better power, and I'd imagine the die hards sooner or later changing out as time went by. -
Quote:Good point. I know I wouldn't want an eye on every piece of the set. Before we discuss if and how the armor should be unlockable, don“t you think we first should define it to give the Art Team something to work with?
So, for the head I was thinking maybe a rather torn cowl and one of those nifty moving eyeballs instead of a face.
Or better make that two parts and the eye(surrounded by some metal) a head1 piece. How about making it look like as if the metal was grafted right onto the flesh?
Any other ideas? -
Yes! Slot those +END Procs into Superior Conditioning and Physical Perfection!
If you keep them at 1 slot each, that's what you should be slotting in there! -
I'm actually okay with the unlocking.
As long as we don't do more "only at 50" pieces.
Also anything new that is unlocked by doing a TF, I would hope would be account wide.
Not that I wouldn't run the TF often anyways, but I would like my costumes not level locked.
Hunt Badge ones I am fine with, because then I can get level 50 friends to help me get the badge on my level 1 then make the changes quickly.
Locked behind a lvl 35+ TF means waiting till level 35 :/ Locked behind level 50 gear, means waiting 49 levels!
It's an awesome thought to reward the lvl 50's (and I have plenty of them so it's not like I can't get to 50), but when you see a costume piece that's perfect for your charfacter, can you can't get it pretty quick with a bit of help from friends...it's sad. -
I find this a funny.
What exactly is confusing?
Want to make an Incarnate Ability. Click on it, so you cna mouse over and use the window slider bar and scroll down and see the different ways to make it.
And what exactly is complicated about using Shards and Threads?
On my recently SS/FA Brute, I used shards on some of the Alpha slot powers, and Threads on other parts.
Some of us don't go around doing multiple trials a day, but also go about running ITFs, STFs, and other TFs and then pick up shards in the process.
I really don't see what's complicated about Shards, Threads, Components or any of their conversions or use. -
Quote:Now I'm not one of the Pocket D regulars (though I go there time to time), but I'm curious as to what you mean by bad emoting.Typical bio consists of:
((Any Rp, Walk up encouraged, tells encouraged, Futa, Looking for sub))
[insert bio about how "she" smells like flowers, is not human, has mental powers of some kind, and also list all of her measurements. Oh and a theme song. Always remember the theme song.]
Typical RP consists of:
*giggles*
Bad emoting. (two male virgins trying to be sexy...nuff said...)
Hardcore walk toggling.
An eventual trip to the base teleporter.
Oddly enough the ERP crowd isn't the type that annoys me the most. The thing that bothers me is that everyone -not- ERPing in Pocket D is roleplaying the -exact- same character. Regardless of their backstory/character description/etc they will all be "smart alecs" who seem to have lifted their sense of humour straight from a badly written version of family guy. Even the demi-gods, paladins, robots, and whatever else all seem to be "chasing the joke".
I would love to meet some RPers who don't live vicariously through their characters.
If you're roleplaying a normal person sure. But if you're roleplaying a superhero/supervillain/etc it should be easy to strike up a situational conversation.
I much preferred Gemini Park because you'd actually find characters there that didn't look like they'd jumped straight out of a Cyberpunk RP.
/em giggles "insert dialogue here"
Are you looking for something more long winded?
I'm just curious, because not everyone can think of almost maximum allowable text in one message (not even thinking of going over it), without possibly taking some time to think about the right wording.
Then it has people waiting around, wondering if you went AFK. Not to mention trying to think of the right thing to say when it's something short, when you get hit by something that sends you for a loop, or has you thinking 'What would my character say to this?!' (note I RPed regularly with someone who always want to think of the right thing to say, at times this would mean waiting around a bit longer for a reply...it didnt bother me...but it bothered others).
Also, in the D with all the chatting going on, I think people have decided to just make it quick. And instead of taking it to team, they want the audience.
And I know people who would go to the D, except when they get there it's lots of chat going by quickly, they miss what they're going for.
This has happened of course at big SG gatherings with coalitions involved showing up. So it's not a knock on the D, as that lots of people equals a lot of chatter, which can have chat going by quickly for some. -
Say its in the destroyed zone and now it's a pile of wreck, but you refuse to leave your now ruined home, and you RP that you live there but the water is bad, when you can get it, the air conditioner is out. But on the bright side, your rent is cheaper.

Quote:And gawd forbid if anyone kept Pocket D to the no fight rule. Were heroes and villains can come to party without worry of losing an eye.2. If people started RPing and a conflict occurred, offended party A could attack party B and then all hell breaks loose, because almost no one's willing to accept a defeat IC in this game.

QR and Stamina 3 slots of ENDREC SOs
Attacks - 2 ACC/3 DMG/1 ENDRED or RCH
MoB, HS, RTTC - 3 RESIST or DEF or HEAL and possibly 1 ENDRED
Iron Will - Original Slot ENDRED
SoW - Depends on if you have the slots available. But 2 RESIST and then 2 HEAL if you actually have slots left.
Really shouldn't need Aid Self
HPT - 3 HEAL -
Quote:I think you'll be wrongMy Broadsword/Willpower stalker. I doubt they will make titan weapons for stalkers.

Titan Weapons will be a set people have to purchase. There might be people who only play the Stalker AT over any other melee AT. Those player may buy the Titan Set, but would only buy it if the Stalkers could use it.
Essentially, I think the devs are going to want to cover their bases, and get as many sales as they can on it. -
Quote:I use Rebirth myself. I've used it when I've seen a team member about to die, and Ive used it as a self heal when I needed too.No, but that was just an example - the point of my post is that people are more concerned with buffing themselves than their teammates with the destiny abilities. I still think emps are valuable in teams, every powerset and AT got a bit shafted by the incarnate system but none of them are flat out useless.
When I had Barrier, I just clicked it when it recharged (or wait for AVs to be pulled over) and just kept it up.
Of course, I do like that Rebirth gives my WP a self heal

Quote:Im sure there was someone out there who prefered to have their Taunt earlier.Yeah but that's not really "against the cottage rule." All the powers were still there adn doing the same thing, just rearranged a bit.
Now it makes me wonder if there's someone out there with a Tanker who hasnt been respeced in that amount of time, still running around with the fitness pool and likely 6 slotted stamina, because they want their taunt earlier!
-
Get in there and click buttons!
I say that as a melee player who doesn't worry about teaming with knockback characters anymore.
Now I just run in and kill things. If they're knockedback by some AOE, I run after it like rabid scrapper would!
that said, it's nice when they don't mess up the group, but if so, so be it!
Now get in there Energy Blasters and Assault Rifle Blasters and click away!
Not you Dual Pistol Blasters. You can turn off your knockback! *glares* That's right, I said it. Besides, I want you doing more damage! -
