Quote:That sounds like a new powerset and not Powerset Skins.I don't think you do, which is a tad frustrating on my part. I don't know if people are disagreeing because they don't like the premise or (what I think) because they aren't quite 'getting' what I'm saying. And it doesn't help when they disagree with points not placed in the idea to begin with.
I really can't argue with your complaint. You don't think sets should have different looks within the set but that options within the set to make it look different is okay...
Most likely, if any use custom animations such as for the demons or liches, it'd be just as easy to make that as a new set. And most likely would be better off with their own appropriate animations rather than animations clipped/stretched to sync with another sets' cast times.
Why would a less showy pistol animation set have to be tied down to another sets' times? Do you feel that, if this other 'skin' had some attacks that animate faster, that you cannot balance it's numbers?
As another example: Katana and Broadsword never existed as sets. We introduce a set called 'Single Blade' who has the animations and numbers of BS this next issue and advertise with the next update in Freedom, a purchasable skin called 'Katana' that had the stats of the katana set in our world. Are BS and Kat not balanced vs each other? They have the same range, area, damage type, debuff/buff, the only difference is cast time and animations. Damage/END/Rech are balanced by formula. One does have better DPS potential but the other has bigger single hits and can be used with a shield.
Do you feel that is unacceptable? It's exactly what I propose if the devs ever release a set like Capoeira. It'd be the BS of MA in that it is ultimately slower to cast because its animations would need to be longer. Same with other sets with same-ish concepts. Depending on the needs of the concept/animations is how the effects would be altered.
And the reason I want the same animation length is because I don't want to see people picking which animation to use based solely on which makes the attack do more DPS. -
It looks like he's not channeling Elvis in this one.
I enjoyed the first one, but it does look like this one will be better on the action and Ghost Rider looks better as well. -
Quote:Resident Evil Afterlife:Well, if they can keep on making Resident Evil and Saw films . . .
Budget - 60million
Box Office - 296.2million
That's why the can keep on making RE movies
And I can't wait for the next one! Haven't been let down by them yet.
Now Underworld 2 had a budget of 50million and a Box Office of over 111million. Is that blockbuster? No. Is that profit? Yes!
The Prequal has a budget of 35million and a Box Office of over 91million.
When you can make movies for that much and get that much return for them, it would be silly not to make more. Especially since you figure the DVD sales brings in even more money. -
I'm wondering if that werewolf she goes up against is Michael.
Maybe he's lost it?
gzonna see it! The prequal didn't look enjoyable at all, but I loved 1 & 2, so I'm going to it! -
I love the original theatrical release of Blade Runner! It's the Director's Cut that is suckie

As for a remake, I was actually wondering when they would get around to it. -

Quote:You always have been able to get to 50, it just might faster to 50 now, it was always timed based.Agreed...But when the destination becomes more a formula, based on Level Progress + IOing + Incarnating +Time = Destination, the journey almost feels as though the accomplishments are just a matter of time anyhow and almost never failing, and thus striving for them is only just controlled by the hours you sit in your comp chair.
You can and always will/get to 50. You can now always have something epic. It's just time based, but it will always happen.
As for difficulty feeling lost when ubered out. I can't help but say it again, play at higher difficulty against enemies that are serious threats.
Now I don't know what difficulty you're set at. But having all those IOs and Incarnate Abilties, but fighting 0/0 Council, well yeah, the game will be a cake walk.
Take that same thing up the difficulty to +4/8 and take on some Rularuu, Arachnos, Longbow, Cims, and you'll see some difficult times! -
Corr! Cuz a Troller will likely bore you!

Well Corr or Defender. Corr if you want to do more damage on the team and have the blasts sooner. Defender is you want to be more survivalable. -
I'm for this as long as the animations stay the same duration no matter what the powerset is.
So sure, let those who want boring animations for Dual Pistols have them, but it'd likely feel slower and then have those who spin about going "You know just standing in place is going to get you killed, this isn't a quickdraw fight."
Really, it's that standing there that bores me of AR and Archery as it is, so if they made flashy animations in the respective sets, I'd actually make one and get it to 50! -

The alignment's are fine as is. I say this as someone who's main is Vigilante.
If you have problems with teaming with your friends and not getting your tips done, do your tips first
Or don't join them in on theirs, solo yours, then team with them.
Vigilantes/Rogues don't need special merits/rewards either. Good/Evil get A Merits, Rogue/Vigilantes get access to both sides.
If anything, I'd support R/V's to get access to each sides Oruborus, but that's about it. -
Well, no one in the global channels I was in where calling me Trilogy. I'm usually called Brand or Jess (Jessica is my namesakes non hero name).

Quote:They obviously want to have something new to place onto the Market. If they give it a month or two after the market arrivals, then that leaves them another 1-2 months (or howevr long they put waits in between) for them adding a new powerset. It definitely seems odd to push back the set despite it being ready. One of my friends is really frustrated with this and pointed out that while the rest of our group will reroll Time something or Beam something, he'll have to wait for his own new character. It ruins team rerolling.
One buff/debuff set, one ranged set, one melee set. You'd think it'd make sense to release all three at once. -
Quote:I've been mispronoucing your name FOREVER!I've always been Redlynne around these forums. That's because back in Issue 2(!) ... the name Redline had already been taken (along with Red Line and all the other "promising" variations on Virtue). So I settled on Redlynne as a compromise alternative spelling that I could live with, which didn't involve l33tsp34k weirdness.
In my own mind, I've always pronounced my forum handle (and the name of my original character, who I still have) as Red Line. I know that Zwillinger has pronounced my name as Red Lynn(e) more than once during the UStream chats when asking/answering some of my questions I've posted in the live chat. -
Let's see...forum name changes...
Trilogy to Joybuzzer to BrandX.
Trilogy was my first, but the name was taken in game and couldnt use it like I wanted as a character name. After awhile I changed it to the character I'd been using for quite awhile, and then again to BrandX the character I've been playing for like 4 years.
Global Handle...
Trilogy to BrandX
I did it just because. Though interrestingly enough the comment from everyone when I did was "About time"
As for other people's name and if it's a male or female. really. I just never cared.
In fact, only once did any one get on me for saying "he or she" in OOC chat, and they said "I'm a girl" (obviously I knew them from a male character first) only to find out they were a male player
Guess they meant their main character.
-
While I wouldn't encourage, and only see the reason to do it with Demon MMs, as all the other combos can be replicated with Defenders/Corrs, I have one question...
I thought MMs had the same buff/debuff numbers as Corrs/Trollers? -
Quote:Took it out int he sense that they only halted it...for now.I've gotta admit, I'm rather disappointed.
On Virtue, 50 of us once took out Hamidon is about 7-9 minutes.
All the super powered people on Praetoria couldn't beat that thing?!
And like GG said, the Praetorian version laughs at the Primal one. -
Quote:lol Hmm I guess I could have been a little more detailed with my post but I wanted to judge reaction first.
In reality I have a main stream toon setup, I have a name, I Bio written up somewhere, and a defensive set selected... (Electric Armor) But I have yet to find a Primary that fits or rather looks good on him. So I was wondering how the primaries fared on each AT. So really I guess now I'm wondering how, at this point, most of the primaries are on each AT.
I've got a ss/fa brute IO'd so no Super Strength needed here.
My main toon now has War Mace and I'm not really liking it (IO'd and 50).
Got an Electric Melee/ Electric Armor Brute. Don't really care for Electric Melee.
Been toying around with Duel Blades on broot.
And I have tried Katana / Regeneration Scrapper.
My suggestion, because I love my Scrapper version so much, that I know it can do even better on a Brute...
Fire Melee/Electric Armor. Im at like 40-41% S/L Defense right now (few IOs and a couple HOs to go before I hit 45%), I chain Incenerate - Scorch - Cremate - Scorch really easy, with no End Issues, and have Fire Sword Circle for AOE.
I believe Brutes make out better with Fire Melee, due to Fury effecting the DoT, Brutes for sure make out better with Electric Armor, and really, I'm just loving the combo.
I just happen to love the Scrapper AT more, but I know a Brute version would be so much better.
Mines basically a homage to Supergirl/Powergirl/Firestar rolled into one! KD Procs in the 3 attacks just give that SMASH/SUPER STRENGTH feeling I wanted.
Already unlocked the Alpha Slot, going with Cardiac, purely for more resists numbers. Going Barrier Destiny so I can always have at minimum +5% Resist/Defense (which puts me really close to 75% S/L Resist in the final build).
Cardiac will also likely give the benefit of not relying on Power Sink as an END Recovery tool, and more as a defense tool (which I basically use it for now and it just happens to keep you going).
Highly suggest FM/ELA. -
Why not get rid of the -REC, and have it cost you 20.5 END to cast, with a hit that that drops the rest of your end down to a minimum of 10% END, so you can have END left long enough to pop a blue, without dropping toggles?
I know I don't mind the crash on my Blasters as much as I do on my Defs/Corrs.
Blaster = NUKE EM! \o/
Cor/Def = SKIP IT!
*cries*

I always thought Offspring "Bad Habit" was a good driving song.
Also, White Zombie's "Dragula" and Kid Rock's "Ba Wit Da Ba" -
-
If you really don't care which, what powersets are you going with?
If you were going FM/FA for instance, I'd suggest Brutes with your current criteria.
Id you were going to say anything/Shield, I'd suggest Scrapper.
If it's not a matter of playstyle (and I personally prefere the Scrapper playstyle...and there is a difference) I'd base it strictly on which AT benefits the most with the powersets chosen. -
Quote:You can also put Reactive in Icy BastionManaged to get on the beta server. Base defense for FA/GA is 12.75% and Wet Ice gives 0.75%.
FA/GA slotted with 4 pieces of LotG (+rech, Def, Def/End, Def/End/Rech) gives 20.1%
Weave slotted the same way gives 5.91%
Hide and CJ with just a LotG: Rech gives 2.17% each.
That's 30.35%. Toss in a steadfast for 3% and 4 pieces of Reactive in Tough for 1.25.
34.6%. 4 more pieces of Reactive in IB for another 1.25% = 35.85%
36.6% total with Wet Ice added in.
So you need another 9% from attack sets in order to softcap. These numbers are below what I was expecting. -
Re-roll? Nothing.
Name change and make new, my namesake!
DP/TIME
Though, what I'm likely to do is do a few name changes, and just make multiple versions of my namesake and see which I like the best.
Titan Weapons/Possibly Regen (Buster Sword skin)
Staff/Possibly Regen
SJ/Possibly Regen
With these new sets, I see lots of OMG! Yumminess!

Quote:Love seeing that mention of ShadowMeld power all the timeDon't know what you are talking about. I'm now fully IO'd (no purps) and T4'd out on all Incarnate powers and between alternating MOG, Shadowmeld and Barrier, I'm a god on iTrials. I solo chambers and boxes in Lams, pull Seige and Nightie in BAF's and run around like an idget in Keyes. I have decent (not capped) defenses on top of all this thanks to IO set bonuses and Parry from my primary.

Yeah it's good! Sadly, it concept limiting.
