Since you've touched a bit upon grunge (my genre of choice), allow me to add a few grunge and alternative albums:
Nirvana's everything, of course!
Soundgarden's earlier albums, "Ultramega OK", "Louder than Love" and "Badmotorfinger"
Alice in Chains - "Facelift", "Jar of Flies", and their self-titled
Temple of The Dog (self titled)
Mother Love Bone - "Apple", "Shine", Self-Titled
Green River - "Dry as a Bone/Rehab Doll"
Mad Season - "Above"
STP - "Core", "Purple", "Tiny Music..."
Meat Puppets - "Meat Puppets II"
The Vaselines - "The Way of the Vaselines: A Complete History" (currently getting heavy rotation from me)
Pixies - "Doolittle", "Surfer Rosa", "Come on Pilgrim", actually all of their albums are fantastic -
Quote:Common, too.Although you're making me nostalgic for the uncommon salvage market at the heights of AE madness. That was the most fun I've ever had in the market.
I remember one evening on a global channel, someone said something about Circuit Boards skyrocketing, with high demand and nothing on the market. I sold a number that evening for between 500k and 1m. -
It was a weekday. I was at work. I remember a salesguy called in, and he spoke in fractured English. He said "The world trade station was hit by an airplane". We thought he said "train station". So we didn't think it was THAT big a deal. A guy was listening to the radio, and the breaking news came across. We spent the most of the day in the sales manager's office, watching a local channel that was accessible via antenna.
Downtown Toronto was a mess of traffic, and some of our technicians were, obviously, stuck in traffic. We had more than one customer say "If your tech doesn't get here soon, I swear to God, I'm flying a (f-ing) plane into your building"
Fortunately, I have had no personal link to the tragedy. My now-wife had a distant relation die there, though. -
I understand your limitations, and I'll take that into consideration. Leaping into strenuous exercise may not be a good thing, given your weight and your injury. (I'll echo the "swimming" sentiment, as it's low-impact) I would suspect that despite not being initially related, your weight now is a contributing factor to your injury's continued presence.
Try to modify your diet before jumping into so much physical activity.
I know, you don't like to cook, but if you want to lose the weight, you will need to do things you don't like. Obviously, what you have been doing hasn't been working, so if you're that serious about losing weight, you'll need to make a change.
You don't live in an area where fresh foods are readily available, could you possibly have groceries delivered to you? We have Grocery Gateway here, so I did a quick google search, and one that seems to cater to your area is: http://www.groceries-express.com/
It will likely be a bit more expensive, but if you want the fresh produce, and cannot make it to a physical store, perhaps it's an option? Don't use it for all of your groceries, but maybe just the produce.
Go to recipezaar.com it's a great site that has a ton of really good user-rated recipes. It will help to vary your single chicken recipe :)
Good luck! -
Stalkers - "History's Stranglers" by The Bronx

For my Brute that I intend on making a Rogue, "Wanderlust" by Every Time I Die:
"I've drowned my conscience and cast another stone.
I took to preaching while dancing on the code.
I can't see where I've been and only god knows where I'll be.
But there must be a place for a wretch like me.
Oh, lord knows I'm tired,
But I, I, I won't rest my head until I'm home.
And if my hands find themselves another body, well,
You can't blame them for trying to keep warm.
Morals are simply a matter of time,
And where you lay your head's a question of pride.
But when it's said and done you'll find in the light,
That privilege and wit make me misfortune's child.
Can't tell collapse that it needs to slow down.
Can't tell death that it shouldn't come around.
And when they take my head and put it on a stake,
I know that guilt and disgrace keep the dead man awake." -
I tend to only listen to a handful of artists at a time while playing. My most recent phase has been:
Ted Leo and the Pharmacists
The Vaselines
The Bronx
Every Time I Die
Death From Above 1979
The Pixies
In general:
Since you're into grunge, I listen to a lot of Nirvana, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Mad Season, Mudhoney, Mother Love Bone, Temple of the Dog, Foo Fighters, and so on.
You didn't really list any punk-esque music but judging by your varied tastes, you may be receptive. I listen to quite a bit of The Bouncing Souls, The Vandals, Bigwig, Choking Victim, Leftover Crack, Star F*cking Hipsters, Cursive, Propagandhi, Against Me!, Descendents, etc -
I would say I use my keyboard more than my mouse.
I loved the ergonomic keyboards (the split ones), and I haven't been able to find a decent one in years. I stopped using one in 2003 or 2004, and I STILL find it difficult to type properly on a standard keyboard.
Right now, I'm using a 5-button wired mouse, and just a basic keyboard that came with my PC. -
The longest that I waited was about three hours. I've had several that I gave up on waiting and got a follow-up email, but I can't recall the time between. At least one was the next day.

Currently, I'm using these:
http://www.bestbuy.ca/en-CA/product/...116df628fden02
I got them on sale for about $25 CDN. They're slightly offset, and I think they have pretty decent sound, and I have no slippage. Granted, I don't do a lot of working out. -
good thing you didn't use the other initialism.

-
Yep. I remember doing a Manticore with some folks, and we waited around for three hours for a GM to fix it. The upside was that we all got the Warden badge while we waited.
-
I don't know that I would lump Radiohead's music in with "some emo song"
-
I'm listing pretty much everything, history or not for a single digit. Whichever I happen to hit.

Quote:I know their system may say "not released". That would be fine if I hadn't advised it's been released, and basically called a liar. It would also be fine if it hadn't been followed up with, "there's a problem at customs".Black Pebble recently posted something to the effect that the distributor in Canada *****'d big time and didn't get the boxes shipped. So Gamestop CA may indeed show the title as "not released" because they haven't got it yet. Just guessing, but this isn't directly GS fault I think.
Give me non-information, and I would have been fine with it. But give me conflicting information, that tells me you aren't interested in my business. -
I've cancelled my pre-order with gamestop.ca
The physical box, and a handful of enhancements aren't that important to me. Communication and customer service are.
I called today to ask about the status, and I was told, "It hasn't been released yet". When I told them it's been live since Monday, they said, "No it hasn't". When I asked when the new arrival date was, I was told "I don't know. Next week? Maybe September 1st. It's not out yet". Then I was told there's a problem at customs. So, it hasn't been released yet.. but there's a problem at customs? And a problem at customs will take two weeks to sort? Come on. I deal with over-the-border shipments daily. -
I just cancelled my pre-order. I'm done with EB/Gamestop.
-
I also want to chime in that I'm really digging your guides. I normally play melee classes, so it's helping a lot to have a point of reference. I'm currently leveling an ice/cold and I am REALLY enjoying it, and I'm messing around with the idea of a something/Dark.

Quote:Their main distribution centre in Canada is in Brampton, Ontario. Most within Canada should be shipping from 8995 Airport Rd. I worked in the building next-door, but we moved, and they took that building over, as well.... actually, 20th sounds about right for their usual "shipping delay" to Canada. Nearest as I can figure, (this is all guesswork) their main distribution centers are in the us, and rely heavily on UPS. I doubt their distribution model takes into account customs. So while everything is sent out at the same time, customs results in it reaching stores in Canada a bit later. It is likely possible that they could - either through better planning, or spending a little more $$ on shipping - get things to arrive here on time. But unless the merchandise is a big hyped money maker (SC2), they cannot be bothered to make the effort.
They don't rely heavily on UPS that I know of. Or at least, they never used to. They used to use Purolator primarily for outbound, and inbound, I saw a lot of DHL and Purolator for courier service, and for transport they used to use Yellow Transport. -
I preordered a few weeks ago, and called today and asked Gamestop if I could pick it up, since their building is literally the same building I used to work in, and one that I now work a block from.
They said it no, I had to have it shipped.
My gamestop.ca status says it's not shipping until the 20th.
The Wal-Mart by my work didn't have it. Nor did the Best Buy or the EB Games near my place.

Another bad PuG experience. Same server as before.
We're doing a mission in RWZ, and the Team Leader recruits a kin. We're in the mission, the kin is on his way. She says something to the effect of, "It's level 47 here, I only invited you cause I want SB"
Kin: "SB?"
TL: "you ARE a kin, right?"
Kin: "Yea. Still new though"
TL: "Good God, please tell me you know how to play it"
Kin: "I don't know what to say to that".
TL then went on to regale us with a story about how she played with a Kin who didn't use Fulcrum Shift or Speed Boost, and so that made her roll a kin. Then bragged about how great she is.
The kin arrives, and TL sees no vet badges. She's polite for about a minute, and asks when Kin started. He tells us he registered this month, but has been away for 2 weeks. TL says, "I'll show you how a real kin plays. The next member is my boyfriend".
We play around for a bit, and she belittles him a little more. He asks "anyone who wants SB, speak up, I can't read minds". I politely tell him about the arrow in the team window displaying icons. TL has a different approach:
"Have fun dude. Good luck with adventures ahead" and she boots him. A level 20-something in the middle of a mob in our level 47 RWZ mission. And says, "I guess he didn't see that coming either, since he can't read minds".
I immediately say, "Thanks for the team. I think it's better to coach and teach new players rather than to degrade and belittle them. Good luck." and quit the team and noted the global. I apologized via tell to the kin and tried to explain that the community as a whole isn't like that. He mentioned he doesn't intend to continue playing, as it wasn't his first experience like that. I told him to ignore the people who attempt to tell him how he should be having fun, but he seems unconvinced.
It's unfortunate how negative interactions can sour a person's opinion on a great game. -
