Quote:Rikti raids are poor XP compared to any farm, and if someone leeches you can kick him off the team. There's no point punishing other, legitimate uses of the RWZ because of a minority when there's already perfectly working solutions to deal with these people.

Quote:Well, its true that Robot/FF can solo an AV but Im having trouble doing the same with my Merc/FF...
Poor Mercs, they always get shafted.
The strongest Mastermind, eh? I've said it before and I'll say it again: there is no strongest. Each combo performs well in varrying circumstances, and the few popular builds are usually the things you can put on auto in situations that are easy for them to handle. -
A henchmen by himself is decent if slotted correctly. The Mastermind by himself (with the appropriate secondary) can do decently at best and dreadful at worst. They were made for each other, although seperate they perform adaquately (the Mastermind himself/herself varrying on the secondary in question, and the pet also varrying by the slotting in question).
Henchmen make wonderful distractions, as well as being fodder for alpha strikes if you are built to recover quickly. Honestly neither is impressive alone, but together the henchmen and Mastermind can perform feats that alone they could only dream of.
Henchies <3 the Mastermind -

Quote:Ninjas are pets on crack that enjoy ignoring your commands happily.Weird thing here. Running Ninjas. Ichi and Nii are my genin, and I just picked up the Jounin, Shi.
/macro PRI petcom_name Ichi attack defensive$$petcom_name Shi attack defensive
Target... hit the macro, and Ichi heads for the mob. However... Shi attacks ANOTHER mob before moving on to attack the targeted mob.
Am I missing something here about Jounin? This is my first time running ninjas. -
Quote:Both the melee/ranged toggle and the 'stay right here no matter what' have been requested since beta. Neither have or likely will see action...
If I recall correctly:
The melee/ranged issue was one of making sure the player was in the loop and not running on autopilot. In other words, they want you to be active in controlling your pets. Their opinion of what constitutes active play through pet management is what matters here.
The Stay command was one of programming, where the pets don't retain their absolute location when issued the command, but are tethered to the MM's location (ie they stay in a relative sense in place until circumstances dictate they move, and no longer have a location to return to other than the MM).
...but it's always worth asking again periodically I suppose!
Hey, we got color customization, so why not ask for stay to actually mean stay? Lord knows how long people have begged to actually color their powers. -

Quote:The protector bots also only get one each, so really only the battle drones and assault bot get double-bubbled. That's not a bug, that's "working as designed".
And if you demand the developers re-think how protector bot shields work, they might just remove double bubbling altogether, so shush!
Mostly because the Prot Bots can't buff themselves. -
Quote:I am not bothered about giving extra options, I just want 'stay' to mean 'stay no matter what the hell happens - do not move!'
I would think they could code something like that much easier than melee/ranged options.
I will take the option to have them chill the hell out in that spot in "Stay" before ANYTHING else. -
Quote:I wonder if there even is an Arachnos in Preatoria? We know there isn't a Lord Recluse, but he didn't start Arachnos, so maybe a different incarnation of the organization exists there.
If I remember correctly Cole kills him after they get the power of the incarnate in the Praetorian universe. -
It's nice other than the fact I see no page on the tactical and strategic understanding and use of your secondary powers. Pets alone do not make the Mastermind, the advantages both the Primary and Secondary pools bring is what makes you a truly formidable force (so long as you aren't playing Mercs
).
Other than that it's a nice guide albeit a little out-of-the-ordinary with the two target "temptation". -
You didn't spell "mystery" correctly...
Other than that I believe it should definitely give better random rewards than it does now. -
Robots are not merely the best for AV soloing. Ninjas/Dark Miasma, Necromancery/Dark Miasma, or Thugs/Dark Miasma also work in this example. Necro/Dark and Ninjas/Dark may take much more preparation and concentration/coordination, but they definitely work.

Shorway would be down for team 1 (Fire/Fire Scrapper lvl 35)

Quote:Might I suggest you DO NOT TURN OFF XP, just refuse to level up...
That way.. someday, when you feel like it.. you can try the ultimate level 10 build, level 20 build..etc...
I say, bank that XP, just don't use it until you want to!
Please read the original post. -
An SOE MMO? After the SWG disaster I literally swore never ot touch anything they make, as the rule of thumb suggests they'll end up killing it because they'll feel inferior to WoW in some way (and why the hell does that matter? A larger subscriber base than yours doesn't mean you've gotta cry about it and try to copy aspects of the other game entirely).
Until they fix SWG to a greater extent than I've witnessed I'll consider anything with SOE on it the plague. -
So long as its fun and interesting I could care less about the "deeper aspects" of the game as a whole. It's here for my entertainment and that's about it.

Read it. We need some unique flavors for our event GMs. I was sadly disappointed at the Halloween event's GM, and the "Lord Winter" is just a re-hashed Winter Lord. Even small details or a size change would be nice, like a top hat or corn pipe or clothing piece. -
A Mastermind has downs...?
Whaaaat?
Kidding, kidding. Yes, a Mastermind is probably the more advanced of any available Archetype in the game present. The sheer amount of roles you can fill with this Archetype alone, and the ways with which you can accomplish them, are staggering. That does not, however, come without folly. The Mastermind is a difficult class to utilize and understand at first being that, in the higher levels, many newer players are turned away without advice from existing Mastermind experts.
Another downside is the nearly total reliance on the pets themselves. The vulnerability of the first tier pets is also a huge problem for Masterminds, as a merely "adaquate" AoE will ravage them while only denting your hardier allies. -
Quote:I think the ultimate 5 man team is 5 thug masterminds. You can argue that there is no one best mastermind for all circumstances, but when you're talking about GROUPS thugs are unbeatable because enforcer auras stack across the entire group.
With 10 enforcers each giving a 12% defense bonus each, that's up to +120% defense. This gives you a comfortable margin of error above the 45% soft cap, to put it mildly. Accuracy and damage are also boosted, and damage isn't soft-capped.
As for the secondaries, that's a bit more debatable but offhand I think Pain domination has the most powers that have descriptions that begin with the crucially important phrase "all nearby allies". In particular, they have the best aoe heal a mastermind can get, "nullify pain" which heals minions and masterminds alike. It has a base recharge time of 8 seconds, which you can cut down to about 4 seconds. 5 masterminds casting that every 4 seconds behind a wall of nigh-invincible thugs would be a force to be reckoned with.
Every primary from the currently available choices must be used. -
It's official, every costume needs green or pink to be classified as disturbing.

Self Destruct -> Rise of the Phoenix. Wonderful little mix if you're gonna die anyways. Get a little rooting in there from a teammate and deal double nuke damage. Works well with Soul Transfer, actually.
I do agree, though, that a power that basically kills you does a little less damage than I was actually expecting. -
Quote:Not that I think it matters much (any?) in this team setting, but I'd swap to Ninja/Storm and Necro/Dark with the rest of the combinations being the same.
Both work in Melee, it's all up to your own feelings on the matter to decide that. Honestly both sets work almost exactly the same with both primaries, except Necro/Dark is a little more thematic/traditional. -
