    ... yeah.
Don't forget the shiny new beaker rack. That was cool, and everyone has been wanting that for years. I'm glad the devs listened to us on that one, I was ready to quit.

I bet any dev that read this would think of the same answer to the OP's request. They don't even consider that the OP might be thinking of a small and easy base improvement. I'd be willing to bet half of the dev team thinks that bases were phased out some time ago. Kinda like when you see Kirk Douglas at the Oscars, and you think "Isn't he dead?" Just my opinion. YMMV

    Base/SG For Sale

Sounds interesting. What's the name of the SG?

    It is Over

It's unfortunate that an area of this game with so much potential has been completely ignored. Bases could really be something great. Look what's been done with the tools we have currently. It is sad when players who are so passionate about bases decide to throw in the towel. I suppose it is to be expected. The current system really does need to be re-evaluated.

I think an improvement to this system can only be good for this game as a whole. There may only be a small percentage of the playerbase who are base builders, but it is my opinion that there is a larger percentage who use bases, and improvements to bases can include new content

If it hasn't already been said, you can bind a key for "target_enemy_near". I have this on

all my scrappers - "target_enemy_near$$follow". It targets the closest enemy then follows

them so I can beat em down on the run
  6. I should've been more clear. I was thinking it would be handled through the e-mail system, to filter out spammers.
  7. I would like to bring up the suggestion again for being able to invite my alts to my sg

offline. Is there a technical issue preventing this? I know the workaround, I just think this

is a matter of convenience. Thanks for reading.
  8. Don't get me wrong, I really like this show. This isn't just jumping the shark anymore. it's jumping the shark, then the shark throwing Fonzie in the lake and the shark jumping him. I just want to see Welling put on the suit and fly already.
  9. Hey Cap !! Great ideas. Sailor is right though, and you will find alot more people who

are enthusiastic about bases and base improvements in the base building forums. There

are alot of posts with the suggestions that you mentioned there. However, I am glad

you posted in the suggestions forum. It shows me that there are more people outside

the base building community that are ready to see improvements in the base system.
  10. On the Justice server there is a mentor program. You can try the forum section under Servers and go to Justice. Or if you see me in-game I'd be happy to offer whatever help I can. @BlueTurbo is my global. There are alot of friendly and helpful players. When I first started, I couldn't figure out how to get on the train in Atlas Park, a quick question in the request channel and I was off to Kings Row. Have fun.
  11. I made this same suggestion for player housing a few weeks ago. Hope your thread

gets more attention. I work around by having 1 player supergroups. There is always

talk in the base forums about a new base system, hopefully if this ever happens they

can find a way to include player housing. Don't hold your breath.
  12. Dangit !! I can't catch a break. I really liked playing my stalker too. Oh well, toss it on the pile of stupid things I've done (note to self: sweep stupid stuff pile back under rug, again). On a related note, I was disappointed in the last base improvement......really, beakers on a beaker rack....not impressive.
  13. Is there an auction house in Galaxy City?? I can't recall, but if there is, I think it is

probably pretty quiet. If there isn't, maybe the devs could add one in that zone with a

studio B type of room to see how popular the idea is. Just a thought.
  14. BlueTurbo

    Finished!

Congratulations !! What a great achievement. Do you mind telling the story of the last

badge? I'd love to hear it.
  15. One thing I always thought would be kinda cool is a sg vehicle that is just displayed in

the base. Kinda like the flyers and other base items you get as vet rewards. Totally

custom from a variety of different types of vehicles.
  16. Since there has been some recent talk about starting over with a new base editor and base system I thought this was a good time to re-introduce the idea of personal bases. I know we can have a personal base with the current system, with most of what I’m about to suggest, but maybe a new system can be introduced starting with personal bases and worked into a SG system if it is popular enough.

    Residence –
Start with basic living area in your choice of styles: Apartment, Condo, Single Family Home, Mansion, Cave, Sewer, Ice Fortress, Hollow Tree…etc.
    - Basic Residence area includes:
    a. One Entrance area
    b. One Living area
    c. One Eating area
    d. One Sleeping area
    e. Clickable access to “Secret Lair” area
    - Residence does not support Teleport or Crafting or Storage.

Living areas can be upgraded/enhanced by spending influence.

Any base portal will have the option to transport you to a SG/VG base (if
available) or to your residence or secret lair.

    Secret Lair –
Access through a custom clickable object located in the residence area. The Secret Lair area is also available in your choice of different styles.
    - Basic Secret Lair area includes:
    a. One Entrance area
    b. One Mission/Storage area
    c. Clickable access to “Residence” area
    available upgrade areas
    d. Costume display area
    e. Trophy display area
    - Secret Lair does not support Teleport or Crafting.
    - Secret Lair does support limited storage.

Secret Lair area can also be upgraded/enhanced by spending influence.

    Mission/Storage area includes:
    - Personal Mission Computer – gives missions similar to tip or radio/newspaper missions.
    - Storage – includes a limited amount of personal storage.

    Costume Display Area
    - A display of your available costume slots.

    Trophy Display Area
    - A display area for your badges, achievements, accolades…etc.

One of the most basic concepts in any sort of coding is that you don't unnecessarily reinvent the wheel. From a coding point of view both "personal bases" and "SG bases" aren't really any different. Both are going to be based around the idea of having a floorplan and placing objects within that plan. The only differences are the actual art resources used in the two (and even then a lot of the cosmetic ones are likely to be the same for both) and the way players interact with them.

If the devs do ever decide to implement personal bases I would expect them to use the same interface and such for both personal bases and SG bases. They might opt to scrap a lot of the existing SG base code (due to the apparent problems with that code) rather than reusing it as is but there is no reason to make new code for personal bases and not apply it to SG bases.
Thank you for the clarification, it was good of you to take the time.

I really just had the idea that in a superhero game, most of the superheroes from my

experience have a secret lair. Some are also members of larger groups, but most have a

seperate personal space. I had suggested this before in the base forums, probably at least a

year ago, but nothing came of it. I simply thought that there may be others who may find

the idea of a secret lair appealing if I made a quick outline of features and structure. It is just

a game and my intention was to make a suggestion outside the base forums for other players

    to start a conversation.

    It never hurts to ask.

    Welcome to the forums.

    Indeed.

Yes the base building community has been lobbying for this for years. They are the only ones interested in it. And no one has told you that you shouldn't re-introduce the idea. Quite the opposite. It was suggested that you post it up in the forum where everyone who is interested in it tend to hash out suggestions like this one.

But oh that's right you have a low opinion of the base forums.

I don't believe that base builders would be the only ones interested in having a secret lair. I think this would be a good way to enhance RPers too.

And the funny is that you say you want to avoid "base building" and yet you are suggesting the devs add an entirely new base building feature to the game in addition to the current system.

I don't like the current base system. I use it extensively and am proud of the bases I have built, but it is a system that is very often criticized as being a bad system.

Yes a Secret Lair/residence/apartment is a base, and would still be a part of base building. What it boils down to is that your suggesting the devs give us the ability to have a personal base in addition to joining a regular SG base.
To be clear I am suggesting a seperate feature that has absolutely nothing to do with the current base system.

Standard Code Rant applies. You really have no idea how much time and work is entailed in the project you are suggesting.
I would never assume what someone else knows or doesn't know. Time and work have never been insurmountable obstacles to any of the other improvements made in game. I was hoping for more constructive criticism or suggestions. If this is something that players have wanted for years, maybe it's time to re-introduce the idea. My initial search didn't produce any recent posts on the subject.

You're right. That's a good idea. Thank you for the constructive input.
  21. Thanks for the replies.

In response-Forbin, I am aware of the deep dark hole that is the base building forum. Thank you for the suggestion, but I'm pretty sure that's where posts go to die. I really want to avoid this having anything to do with base building and the base system. That's why I posted in the "suggestions" instead "base building". I don't think it's enough new content for expansion prices. But I'd pay maybe @ $15.00 U.S. for a beefy booster .

-Fleeting Whisper, I initially thought to ask for a better exchange rate, but then reconsidered to keep the suggestion more simple. I know the rate is stupid, but I don't think earning influence is that hard and having another influence sink in the game could be a good thing.
  22. I have thought for a long time that one of the obvious things missing from this MMORPG is personal housing for our characters. So, I did a rough outline for a Secret Lair Booster Pack. I want to stay as far away from the base program as possible, so I don't think that personal space should include any of the ammenities found in an SG base. I do think that alot of this design could use artwork and systems already present in the game.

    Take a look:

    Residence –
Start with basic living area in your choice of styles: Apartment, Condo, Single Family Home, Mansion, Cave, Sewer, Ice Fortress, Hollow Tree…etc.

    d. One Sleeping area
    e. Clickable access to “Secret Lair” area
    - Residence does not support Teleport or Crafting or Storage.

Living areas can be upgraded/enhanced by spending “Personal Prestige”.
    - Personal Prestige is earned at the same rate and in the same manner as SG/VG prestige.
    - Personal Prestige is earned both in and out of SG mode.
    - Personal Prestige begins earning at level 1.
    - Personal Prestige can be purchased with influence/infamy at the same rate and in the same manner as SG/VG prestige.

Any base portal will have the option to transport you to a SG/VG base (if
available) or to your residence or secret lair.

    Secret Lair –
Access through a custom clickable object located in the residence area. The Secret Lair area is also available in your choice of different styles.
    - Basic Secret Lair area includes:
    a. One Entrance area
    b. One Mission/Storage area

    d. Costume display area
    e. Trophy display area
    - Secret Lair does not support Teleport or Crafting.
    - Secret Lair does support limited storage.

Secret Lair area can also be upgraded/enhanced by spending “Personal Prestige”.

    Mission/Storage area includes:
    - Personal Mission Computer – gives missions similar to tip or radio/newspaper missions.
    - Storage – includes a limited amount of personal storage.

    Costume Display Area
    - A display of your available costume slots.

    Trophy Display Area
    - A display area for your badges, achievements, accolades…etc.

Maybe you have another idea to make this better. Maybe I got something wrong and you know a better way. Either way - lets talk about it.
  23. I would be up for anything that improves the functionality and relevance of bases.

    Including a new base system.

  24. I know alot of people (myself included) who are hoping for a booster with base love.
