As mentioned before, is likely a local issue - drivers, file corruption, etc. A handy way to test the mission graphics is to have someone enter the mish and tell you what THEY see. If everything looks normal to them, or for that matter if DIFFERENT things are borked for them, then one or both of you will want to update drivers and verify files prior to your next login.
Will usually straighten things out. -
Darkness Domination
Dark Assault
Broadsword for brutes
War Mace and Super Strength for scrappers
That's my short list. That's been my short list for 3+ years. -

Another point to be made is that pets die easily when alone - a wandering tier 1 or 2 pet is going to get greased very rapidly, usually as the result of aggroing away from your desired target and chasing a runner into another mob. And suddenly you find yourself up to your neck in aggro that is now on you, specifically. Re: Hami AoE wipes, that's been the case virtually every time this has happened - a pet has decided to attack a mito rather than the more boring pylon, and when said pet dies, Hami vents his spleen on me.
My usual avoidance method is to target my desired target directly, spam attack/defensive until it dies, then pulling back away from Hami and mitos, spamming follow/passive until I'm certain none of them still have a burr up the a** about something I don't want them attacking.
In large groups of enemies, I just retarget when the current one dies, and press on with more attack/defensive. Pets are dumb. It's my job to keep them focused. -

Regarding the discussion about gear-gated content vs story-gated content - if you have to run arcs, missions or other content to get the necessary gear, they ARE the same thing. No different in any game I've played with any kind of content gating: in LotRO, you have to run content of some kind to earn the necessary Radiance Gear, or the "currency" to acquire it with. In Aion, you have to engage in Abyss actions (PvP, Fort raids, Abyss quests) to acquire the best PvP gear, thereby becoming more viable for the content that follows. Here... honestly, all you HAVE to do is A) run the Ramiel arc, and B) beat up enough level 50 enemies to get the shards you need. Having done all three of the above examples, I can say that CoH has it the easiest, here. YMMV, naturally.

Quote:This particular test they have already failed, considering that it's users for other games have complained extensively about it for some time apparently, That, at least, was my experience from Aion.I've no clue what the NCSoft launcher is... but I do believe this will be a good test of whether or not they meant it when they said they were listening.
That being said, I was never actually required to use the darn thing to PLAY the game, just UPDATE it, wherein lies the rub. If launcher A bugs (frequently), game B cannot correctly update. If update fails, game B cannot be played by user C. I got REALLY tired of having to go to the Aion forums to find out what was (most recently) wrong with the launcher, fix it myself (seeing as, you know, it couldn't fix itSELF once it bugged) and THEN wait for the game to update, as it should already have done, had the launcher not bugged in the first place. -

Quote:It doesn't reward you for keeping a toon logged out. It rewards you for consistently logging out in certain places. The only way the first statement would seem remotely true is if you would otherwise be playing said character 24 hours a day.For you. Not for everyone. For instance, me, and the OP. The idea of being rewarded for keeping a toon logged OUT makes no sense to me.
My main badger only has about 7-10 of the day job badges - I'd actually have to go look. But MANY of the others are in various stages of completion because, when I log out, I make a point of doing so in a place that will get credit for one of the incomplete badges. Doesn't KEEP me from playing him, I assure you. On the contrary, it REQUIRES me to log into the character to move him OFF a location for which I know he has, since my last logout, completed a particular badge. -
Was thinking about this a bit after the discussion died down, and came to a realization: It's possible that Praetorians don't unlock either hero or villain epic archtypes because they plan on adding Praetorian epics eventually.
Of course, I'm not sure how thrilled I'd be, playing a character type with an acronym of PEAT... but the coolness might make up for it. -

Unrelated note; someone apparently has something - an avatar, sig banner or link, something - within posts 61-80 (inclusive - page 4 on my settings) that repeatedly causes Firefox to crash.

You've always carried yourself as both friendly and professional, Ocho. A *tremendously* difficult line to walk as a forum mod, from what I've seen elsewhere. Honestly, most just settle for professional, and that's the best way to go if, unlike you, they can't manage both.
You will be missed. Fare thee and thine well.
