This thread is the soul of comedy.
Price doesn't matter. No amount of Inf matters. It's raining from the sky and all you have to do is hold your hands out to get as much as you want.
If you can't afford something, you simply dont want it very much. -
These sound like excellent issues for Manticore's weekly canon thread.

I remember Inert Gas selling for over 200k each about a week ago on Redside.
Yeah, someone broked the market.

I appologize for nothing. -
They want you to be able to use it from 1 to 50. A minimum level requirement defeats that purpose.
Maybe if you opened it for your whole account once you hit level 20, or something, it wouldn't be so bad, but it's still a rough kick in the pants. -

I don't understand the question. We already HAVE a zombie apocalypse. -

What was said on the site...Twixt" became perhaps the game's most reviled, abused player because his playing methods were unpopular.
Thats a bunch of bull. Probably only about 1-2% of the player base, probably less, knew Twixt. Played on one server, mainly in a PvP zone...not that many people really. I didnt know who this person was untill this.
They need to change that crap cause it's a lie. A big fat one.
[/ QUOTE ]
This is a normal media practice - exaggerate and sensationalize a 'fact' that is not easily refuted. Can you PROVE it's not true?
[/ QUOTE ]
Well to become the games most reviled player he would need to know and have teamed with most of the people that play the game. Now from what I am hearing he spent damn near all his time on only a couple servers and even then it was mainly in PvP. Following that train of thought there is no way he can be the games most reviled player due to only interacting with a small percentage of the actual population of the game.

I encountered him once. He did his damndest to get a rise out of me. I have seldom since seen a man work so hard to make me angry. -

The funny thing is he could fight back quite well, I remember M3zm3r1ze saying VORI hunted him down once and they had a hard time of it
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes Twixt knew how to PvP quite well on his LOLMelee. Yeah and no Phase on the toons I had seen prior to I13. He had superior skill, tactics, knowledge and timing.
Recently in the Freedom section of the boards someone started a thread to grief Twixt (you know who you are) and M3z popped in and said something along the lines of "I'm a better PvPer then anyone posting in this thread and Twixt was the best thing that happened to PvP" or "Twixt is a Beast". Sorry the thread was deleted and only M3z or those who remember can confirm it.

If that joker was the best thing that ever happened to PvP, then let me pour a 40 out for it right now. -
Thanks for the review Mirror Man!
Some of my thought process on your comments.
Thanks for pointing out my typos, I worked really hard to correct them, but most of my friends left the game lately, so I am sort of working without a net. I'll fix the ones you noted.
I didn't see an option for making glowie objectives translucent, but if I could figure out how this was done, I would make that change.
Nobody is angrier over the lack of the burning forest than I am. When I wrote the arc, that was the map that I used. Unfortunately, it was later pulled down for no reason that was ever explained, and my arc ended in "Ruined Atlas". After much grousing, I settled on the regular forest map, as it has the same lay out, just no fire. I didn't change the dialogue because I hope that one day I'll get the map I wrote a story for back.
Belial is not an Archvillain. He caps out as an Elite Boss with Dual Blades and Fiery Armor power sets. His Blade skills are set to extrreme, so he will use combos, but the AI is kind of too dumb for it to be a factor. He does call down a lot of ambushes throughout the battle though, so it's my hope that he proved a fitting challenge for the end of the arc.
You're comments on my Elite Hellions are very kind. If you ever want to try part 2, you will find the Elite Skulls are designed with a similliar style. I'd have liked to add a second LT, but as designed, the Elite Hellions take up a lot of space, and the arc is already at 97-98%. Of course, I'm not sure if the I15 changes give me enough space or not.
With Belial, I kind of wanted to paint an aura of mystery around him. You read the Hellion info and you get the idea that there are these new, more powerful creatures gathering on the island, and that it would take a monstrous will to keep them all in check. But no indication as to who or what their master might be. If he weren't so arrogant, you might never have known. But as you face his minions they drop his name. And unlike a more reserved archdemon, he doesn't take care to guard himself from rituals that can bind him. So that's how it comes to pass that you find yourself in combat with him so soon after you learn his name.
Also, glad you liked my take on Midas. He was a tough design with no visual reference, but it's my hope that he looks the part. Thanks for the review again! -

Where exactly was this confirmed? I see people say it all the time, and I would like it, but I have never seen any official confirmation of these, or any other new powersets in Going Rogue.
[/ QUOTE ]
Positron mentioned it during some sort of event around the 5th ani. State of the game, it was semi-confirmed with the trailer for GR/I believe a dev post has pretty much stated it but I dont remember who made it.
[/ QUOTE ]
During a fifth anniversary chat session whose transcript appeared via a fan posting on the euro boards, someone had asked about new powersets. Positron made a remark saying something to the effect "I thought I'd already mentioned Demon Summoning and Dual Pistols."
Then the GR trailer went live. And a week later the press release stated that the two characters in the trailer are a pistols blaster and a demon summoning MM, both with shades of grey morality.
Take what you will from that, but it sounds like a pretty solid couple of hints that both pistols and demon summoning are all but confirmed elements of GR.

Does anyone have a link to this press release? I can't find it. -
I hope you enjoy it more! But I am greedy :-)

Final Analysis: 4 stars.
I liked it. The final mission really would benefit from having the timer removed though.
Finding a hidden glowie and rescuing a hostage on a multi layer Arachnos map full of healers can be time consuming. With the timer in place, I didn't get to fully enjoy reading the clues, which are a big part of what makes this arc enjoyable.
Remove the timer, and I could justify a 5th star. But even with the timer in place I liked it. Lots of cool custom enemies, very immersive storytelling. -
Good feedback guys.
AcesHigh- I agree. Hardcase's presence is non negotiable. He must die.
EvaDestruction- Full disclosure, I've never done Viridian's Arc. I refuse to waste my time killing things that give me no xp or loot just so I can unlock a contact. Having never experienced what he has to offer, I don't feel like I could do justice to Viridian in a story where he is killed.
-MrCaptainMan. The contact in question is Virgil Tarikos. He is on the list. I'm not sure I can fully recreate his costume, since he wears a closed robe, but he will be present to answer for both trying to sacrifice you to Bat'Zul and for calling you stupid during OoP. -
Taking notes.
With five missions to work with, I am sure I can fit everyone in.
I also am not setting these guys up to be shot like fish in a barrel. They'll be a suitable challenge. So that's something of a design constraint, but one that I think will make beating them more fun. -
How are they different at all? I didnt notice.

I myself would love to see this.
If done well I know that my friends would also be interested in running it also.
I'd like to recommend dropping Blue Steel though, his presence seems to break with the premise of thumping villainous contacts that have played you. I don't know right now who to nominate as a replacement though.
[/ QUOTE ]
Blue Steel is included for a very specific reason though. Every time your villain triumphs over and captures a well known NPC Hero, it is always Blue Steel that breaks them free. His meddling must be brought to an end! -
The Galactic Protectorate 01.
Still running this, I ran out of time before I had to leave for work. I finished the first mission. My thoughts thus far.
- This is not a neutral mission. It's very clearly heroic. Saving yourself from a danger that may threaten you in the future is not villainous. Even if it was, you wouldnt do it by rescuing civil servants that you have never met. It's a fine bit of Heroism, but not Neutrel as was advertised.
- I like the diverse custom enemies. I think they all hang together on theme, and are well fleshed out. This counts for a lot with me.
- However, you might want to cut back on the number of healers. I'm not made of endurance, and I cant target the healer first when there are 3 in every spawn.
- I get that nothing says "distopic alternate earth" like a ruined Atlas Park. It's not the most fun place to have to find 4 hostages though.
-Mega points for having the decency not to make me escort the hostages back to the nigh impossible to find entrance to this map though. That would have lead to a ragequit.
-Overall I think it's a good effort and solid theme, and I am curious to see how the rest of it plays out. More to follow as I get more time to play. -

Notice that as with your exmaqple, there has been a complete lack of anything being done to fix it.
[/ QUOTE ]
That assumes that the Devs think there's something to fix.
I remember reading about people's complaints of Kheldians, being a little of everything and a master of none, and refusing to play them until the Devs fix them, saying as such as if the design as a Jack of All Trades was somehow an error.
A friend in a SG I'm in had similar complaints about the Arachnos Soldier Epic, proclaiming on our SG Forum that he'll make the ugliest most painful eyesore of an Arachnos uniform and wear it all the time as a never ending protest until the Devs fix the VEATs.
I'd have to think it was written that way for a reason.
Kind of like the arc from Magus Mu'Drakhan, you're cursed and forced to save all of Mu kind, numbering some one billion people across the globe. Why would my character care if a billion people die? OH! I've been cursed so that if they die, I'll die too? Well, that's convenient isn't it?
Like it or not, the game needs something to push the player into doing the missions we do, and being threatened by something more powerful than you is the typical way to get a villain into working through something he wouldn't want to.
Also, Hardcase is a representative of the Anti-Villain type, he's protecting the innocent using underhanded means, so he won't want the totally random and dangerous violence going on at the end of Verandi's arc, since you started it you get to fix it. What do you expect from another villain, him to say "Pretty please? With a cherry on top?"
[/ QUOTE ]
Some answers that I would have accepted, just off the top of my head, which would have been better.
- I'll pay you double what she's paying
- I have proof that Verandi's going to turn on you in the near future (and reasonable proof provided)
- The Carnies duped Verandi into a scheme she didn't understand (ala Crash Cage). Help get the girl out of the mess she made and the Verandi family will make it worth your while.
- Verandi's a Longbow agent in disguise trying to destabalize an Arachnos power base. Disrupt her plan to clear your name of any involvement
I can go on. There are any number of better ideas than "Do it or I'll [censored] spank you!" -
I think Willy Wheeler gets it at the end of his own arc, doesn't he?
Mender Tesseract deserves a mention though, you've got that right.
