It's just the original press release for Going Rogue.
Quote:SEATTLE, Washington - May 12, 2009 - NCsoft®, the world's premier publisher and developer of massively multiplayer online games (MMOs), and Paragon Studios, the developer of City of Heroes®, today announced the development of City of Heroes Going Rogue, the first major expansion for the City of Heroes franchise since the launch of City of Villains® in 2005. As the name implies, Going Rogue will blur the line between heroes and villains in the first and longest-running super-powered comic book MMO game.
In the Going Rogue expansion, hero and villain characters will become immersed in the new parallel universe known as Praetoria, which is governed by Tyrant, the evil incarnation of the game's main protagonist, Statesman. As gamers search for Tyrant and the rest of his Praetorian guard, implacable foes and fierce resistance will arise to face them from all sides, causing heroes and villains alike to question their loyalties.
City of Heroes Going Rogue will introduce a new alignment system that helps players explore the shades of gray that lie between good and evil. For the first time, hero characters can become villains and vice versa, enabling hero archetypes to cross over to the Rogue Isles and villain archetypes to experience Paragon City. Clearly marked missions, in addition to behaviors and decisions made by the player, will move a hero's or villain's moral compass, which could eventually change the hero's or villain's alignment. Going Rogue will also introduce two primary new fictional characters representative of this alignment shift in the game's lore: Maelstrom, a pistol-wielding hero gone rogue, and Desdemona, a demon-summoning villain who has been redeemed.
"City of Heroes has brought a fresh new perspective to the MMO stage with its foray into the super-powered hero comic book genre, and we are excited to present gamers with even more innovative content in Going Rogue," said Brian Clayton, general manager and executive producer at Paragon Studios. "For years, players could choose between playing as a hero or a villain. Now we will present a third, malleable path where players can be affected by the results of their actions, enabling them to further develop, unveil new perspectives, and overcome new challenges."
NCsoft will share more details on Going Rogue in the coming months. The game is currently in development by NCsoft's Paragon Studios, the City of Heroes development team that most recently launched the ground-breaking Mission Architect system. The launch of Mission Architect sets a significant milestone for City of Heroes as the first MMO to allow players to create user-generated content. City of Heroes has and continues to set new standards among its MMO peers and player community with its engaging and approachable comic book-inspired universe theme and consistent delivery of concepts that break the standard MMO mold.

If you can convert it to .ogg format, save it as /data/sound/Ogg/CrashSite.ogg in your CoH game folder.

Assuming you mean the Demo Decks based on individual Heroes (Mynx, Positron, Statesman, Synapse, Tricksie), the bulk of those cards were included in the regular Battle Packs for the corresponding Heroes. The few cards in there that were normally rares, I already have them.
It looks as if I might be able to get some of the cards knocked off the lists in my original post. I'll update here when I know for sure. -
Yeah, the game was discontinued in 2007, not too long after the expansion set was released. I've been working on getting a complete set primarily just for collecting and archiving purposes. None of my friends around here are much into CCGs, so these'll probably not see any actual gameplay.
PM sent! -
Thanks for the response. Yeah, "Arena" was the base 324-card set. It was never actually called that on the packages, but was indicated on the official Web site.

I've gotten very close to completing sets of the Arena and Secret Origins decks for the CoH CCG, but there are a few cards that have eluded me thus far. I'm looking for the following rares (non-foil, preferably), and I've got several other rares I can trade if anyone's looking for something specific.
Arena
48 - Inspired
71 - Synaptic Speed
161 - Pendulum
218 - Inferno
274 - Resuscitate
278 - Atomic Blast
296 - Revive (Foil)
297 - Foot Stomp (Foil)
308 - Oil Slick Arrow
Secret Origins
43 - Power Crash
Please PM me if you have anything that you can help with. Thanks! -
Thanks for the help, guys. I did some digging through www.whatthefont.com and some other searching, and here are all the fonts that appeared in the pics:
Bold Title: Red Circle
Powersets: BankGothic Md BT Medium
Regular Text: Officina Sans Book
Italic Text: ITC Officina Sans Std Book (Italic version)
All put together...

I've got a little project in mind, and I need some help with figuring out what the fonts are in the following examples:
The powerset name:
and the text block:
Any thoughts from typeface gurus would be great. Thanks! -

Quote:Check to make sure you're not in compatibility mode if you're using IE for your browser. The new site should work fine without it. The discrepancy in your badge totals might be due to having turned on the "hide inactive badges" option, though I can't tell you exactly where to go to change that.Second, there seems to be something wrong with the badge completion bars. They don't have a right-hand piece and so look as if they are cut in half. Also, the badge total is not displaying the correct total (though the bar above it seems to be correct except for the aforementioned problem). This only seems to be a problem on the screen in which each category is summarized and not on the screen where you pick your character.

There was a closed beta sometime back that actually added a slash command to disable the breathing animation. Unfortunately, your character passed out five minutes after using the command and began breathing again anyway. The devs never could get the bug worked out so they just removed the command.

Welcome to the game!
Unlike other MMOs, CoX is much more accomodating when it comes to creating alts, so don't be afraid to make lots of different combinations on different servers. That way you'll get a feel for how the local communities vary. -

Considering that a world based on an urban landscape with real-life proportions and details is inherently more boring than a fantasy-based world, I think he might have missed the point in his comparison. A more valid thematic comparison would be to compare CoX to CO, but CO's kind of a mix between CoX and WoW graphically. He should turn Ultra Mode up and give it another try.

Beef Cake will have more details on this, but I believe the .texture files are universal between PC and Mac, and the only issues would be with making the installer Macpatible (tm). There was a Mac version a while back, but it was outdated and neither of us have a Mac to work on a new version. If someone on the Mac forum has experience with making an installer, the best thing for them to do would be to get in touch with Beef so he can work with them on it.

I'd also put in a vote for GenCon. The convention center where it'll be held is an excellent facility, and Indy is a great city in which to attend an event. The fact that it's centrally located and easy to get to for many people makes it that much better of a choice.

Just remember to post any relevant future situations and dialogue in this thread.

Sorry, it seemed to be most obvious response. -
If you don't mind PvP zones, and are at least level 40, you can also find some in Recluse's Victory. Or, if you'd rather not hang out in the PvP zones, you can find some in the Bulge and Pavia neighborhoods in RWZ. Both of those zones, though, are going to be dependent on the size of teams that are hunting them. Getting a full team together will make the bosses spawn more regularly.
The method that I think is used the most, and is the most reliable, however, is to just farm the first mission of the STF. It shouldn't take more than a few runs with a full team.
Oh, the other option you could use is to run missions in Warburg. Toxics will sometimes spawn as the final boss in missions, and they'll still count even if they're just Lieutenants. -
