  1. I have to agree. I love corruptors, in fact I love all the CoV ATs (with the exception of Stalkers). I like corruptors because they are nice and versatile. You can play like a blaster when the team is ploughing through missions and you can switch to defender mode when the going gets tough. Scourge is also my second favourite inherent in the game (second to Domination).

Sorry thought this was the Right Said Fred thread. My bad.

Your first dom you mentioned is ice, which has aim and should help you hit.

[/ QUOTE ]/thorn is only dom with Aim, ice has power boost.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Oops, my mistake
  4. As MaX said, don't be afraid to run away and come back once MoG or Elude has dropped. Sometimes i'll die against an EB, but I won't rush straight back into the fight, I'll try to get back up to domination outside the mission.

You say that insps aren't the answer but I'm afraid that if you want to try and hit through elude then you are going to have to pop a good few yellows. Your first dom you mentioned is ice, which has aim and should help you hit. Your second is /psi and because MoG doesn't offer psi protection just a few hits with psi dart (after popping yellows of course) should do the trick. If all else fails go and grab some friends/shivans.
  5. The best way, in my opinion, to compare Scrappers and Brutes would be to look at the powersets that they share. The only primary shared by both Brutes and Scrappers is Dark Melee and the only secondaries shared by Brutes and Scrappers are Dark Armour and Invun.

If you take the inherent out of the equation to start with; Scrappers deal more base damage, Brutes have higher defense values (and by defense I mean resistance or Defense).

Looking at the two ATs in that simplistic fassion gives allows you to see scrappers as the higher damaging AT and Brutes as the better one to take damage.

As soon as you factor in the inherent the situation changes completely. Let me start by saying that I have no trouble building fury in pve or pvp with any of my Brutes (the only one I haven't tried is /Stone).

Scrappers get a chance to crit allowing them to double their already sizeable damage output. However fury increases a brutes damage output by such a substantial ammount that they can easily surpase a scrappers damage output with full fury.

I don't have any hard numbers but if you look at it in the simplistic fassion, a dark/dark brute is going to out damage and be more resiliant than a dark/dark scrapper. With the exception of better epic powers why would you pick a scrapper over a brute if you are looking for the "better" AT?

    sg arena event

I'd like to come along. I haven't done anywhere near as much arena pvp as i'd like. If it is a VG event i'll be there with the Violators.

What lvl would this be at? And when are you thinking of doing it?

    e) When using it there is always the potential for a HORRIFIC SCREW-UP SCENARIO to occour. This is because Darkest Night is an anchor debuff. Should you get into a tight situation and fire off Black Hole, the AoE nature of the Black Hole means that your anchor may well be caught by the power. If this happens, they go intangiable, and cease to be able to affect anything. Unfotuantly this also means that your Darkest Night has also ceased to affect anything, as the game judges it to be an effect eminating from the now-intangiable anchor.

[/ QUOTE ]The debuff should work just fine even if the target is intangible, the effect's source is the player, not the foe.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Hmm, so does Telekinesis work on intangible foes?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Interesting idea, I see where you're going with this
  8. I'm not familiar with it at all. I've played Dark Miasma but never picked black hole after only hearing bad things about it. There are so many great powers in /DM anyway. I dont think i've even seen someone else use it. It is a kind of Phase Shift power right? My only experience of phasing powers is Dimension Shift with my dom and I have to say I love it.

Yep, was a good night, we seemed to really know each others powers as well, maybe cos we had 3 gravs and most of our powers were the same :P

    [/ QUOTE ]

hééé the fire/fire was good too

    [/ QUOTE ]

I just meant we know what most of the others powers do, seeing as 3 if us had the same ones. Dimensional shift is a bit fidly though.

    [/ QUOTE ]

So true. But it is probably my favourite power in the Grav set now and has become a bit of a signature move for me. I'm glad the new dom team is working out for you all!

    Hi everyone!!!!

Hey Sandorph and welcome to the EU servers. I'm sure you'll make some friends in no time, we're a great bunch on Union (unlike those Deviants ). Try to join a friendly sg to meet people. I find joining random teams as a great way to meet new people also. If I see you in game I'll certainly say hi.
  12. I'll pop along with Blind tonight and attempt to give the heroes a christmas beating. Fear my hooves heroes!
  13. Illusion would be my choice because it has a lot of tools at it's disposal. As well as having Phantom Army you get a confuse power (deceive) fear in the form of Spectral Terror, a pocket energy blaster (the phantasm) and the usual single target hold etc. You also get spectral wounds which is a decent single target attack. On and you also get Superior Invisibility which can be handy for pvp as well.

I have an illusion/storm and the two sets do go nicely together. I can solo confortably in pve at a good speed and I have pvp'd at times with him.
  14. I was using wormhole tonight and it was working on bosses so i guess it would work in pvp. I haven't tried it yet so I cant guarantee it.
  15. [ QUOTE ]
The way I would see it - a buffbot following you in combat would die in seconds - squishies are always the first targets and if there is no-one to guide them, they're as good as dead... But having a toon inside the hospital, spamming heals might not be a bad idea

    [/ QUOTE ]

Even when my main has grant invis and taunt?

I was mostly thinking of having it in the hospital so that I can get some buffs after dieing and get straight back in the action.
  16. I am someone who has a two Co* accounts. I mostly pvp with my villain Blind Minotaur in the zones. Teaming, on the villains side at least, is not the best. And even when I do get a team buffs from the corruptors aren't exactly free flowing.

I was thinking recently of the possibility having a support toon on my second account logged in to provide me with a constant stream of buffs. I could even spec the toon so that I can set it on follow and have it following me around the zone with the buffs on auto.

Would this be considered "bad form"? Could it even be considered to be cheating? Does anyone else do anything like this? Is it a pain in the...?
  17. I'm starting to think it could be a useful pvp power. With more than one Intang SO i'm wondering if it would break through a tank or scrappers mez protection and phase them. If it did, would it drop their toggles and allow me to go to town on them when they came out of phase?

Would it be worth slotting three intangibility enhancements in DS or would that be overkill? What sort of magnitude would this produce, enough to phase an AV or a player in PvP?

    [/ QUOTE ]

While I don't know if this would work or not, I think (with the exception of the LRSF) it would be more useful if you achieved a magnitude that could intangiblisze (not a word) everything except for AVs, and maybe EBs.

That way you could eliminate the lackies from the fight and let everyone gang upon the AV for a while, using the power like a sieve.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That was my thinking too. I want to have enough magnitude without getting to the point that the AV themselves become intangible. The only way i'm going to find this out though is by doing some testing. It seems to be one of those powers that not many people have information on.
  19. I'm going to have to disagree with what Miss Chief has said (i'm not saying she is wrong, just that I have had a different experience).

I can't talk about how well Dark Mellee and EA go well together but I can talk about EA. I find that it competes very nicely in PvP but I guess it does depend on your build.

I have focused on my defenses quite heavily by picking up most of the EA set, CJ, Tough and even Weave (i know the values are small but I had a spare power choice). I picked up both end drain and conserver power so I never ever run out of endurance whilst pvping. I find it harder to PvP in RV because, as Miss pointed out, there are a lot of +acc powers about. In sirens call I feel a lot more powerful and people do have a tough time hitting me. Overload is a godly power for higher lvl pvp and i do rely on it a lot. If you time it right you can pull of an end drain at the moment OL drops and your toggles wont even drop.

My primary is Super Strength so as I said I can't really comment on how good EA and DM would go together but as you have said you have some nice -Acc powers and I would have thought they would go well together. A lot of people do see EA as one of (if not the most) weakest Brute secondaries but I have had a lot of fun PvPing with mine, definately worth a shot.
  20. I guess it depends if i like the cossie in general. Scantily clad or wearing a baggie jumper doesn't really matter too much provided I think it looks cool. If I run into a semi naked female toon with a hook for a hand, robot legs and an exposed brain I sigh and move on.
  21. Thanks Kitty. I'll head over to test when I get a chance to find out what it does.
  22. Would it be worth slotting three intangibility enhancements in DS or would that be overkill? What sort of magnitude would this produce, enough to phase an AV or a player in PvP?
  23. Does anyone have any advice on how they think Wormhole and Dimension shift should be slotted. I use DS as a panic button so it is vital that when I use it as many mobs as possible are phased. I want to use wormhole as a psuedo hold by combining it with my aoe immob so again it is important that it hits as many enemies as possible. I am happy to spend up to six slots on each of these powers.

    Any tips from experienced Gravs?
  24. Do you have the fighting pool? It is well worth picking up boxing and then Tough. If you use brawl, boxing, air sup, shadow punch and/or smite you should have no problem building fury with your attacks. As a previous poster said Blazing Aura should enable you to grab a nice amount of aggro when in a team. Use your bigger hitting slower animation attacks once fury is nice and high, or your immob/burn combo.
