If it were a serious character bio, I'd say Science all the way; he ostensibly got the super aspects of his abilities from being irradiated. He's only Mutation if those were latent powers derived from inborn mutant genes.
But if it's entirely meant as a joke character, you can say Natural and it wouldn't be an issue.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'd lean more toward natural or Mutation over science, there was no sort of scientific inquiry or process, his powers appeared through natural behavior, the question is was that because of an inherent mutation or not.
[/ QUOTE ]
It is a serious character which is why I'm asking... I actually started him as mutation and immediately thought "this isn't right..." Mutation seems to be purely something that was there at birth, and would therefore not be susceptible to his environment.
In part, he is natural since his powers were derived from his day to day, but they were enhanced to heroic abilities. Since part of his abilities include firing radiation from his hands I'm thinking "natural" probably doesn't cut it.
Thank you for your input!

Mutation could well be there from birth - just not apparent until exposed/trained/used.
"The Lifeguard's abilities stem from a mutation that just wasn't evident initially - the ability to store and redirect energy. Sure, maybe he stayed hyper from being over-sugared longer than some kids. His high school football coach had even joked they could only use him on sunny days, not knowing just how true that was. The job as a lifeguard brought it all to the open, though.
"Merely a month and he was yelling louder than solely a pair of healthy, well-used lungs could explain. If he needed to make himself heard, he had the energy from being in the sun all day long to do so. The short-lived (one hour) reign of terror of what could have been another Lusca, where he found himself directing energy to stun, then destroy the creature, convinced him he had a new career..."

I now really, really, REALLY want to use this bio. :0
OP, use this one. It makes (comic book) sense. It's written. And it just plain rocks. -
I've had a Fire/Ice tank sittin gbenched for almsot as lon gas the game has existed, because of its utter stupidity when it comes to playing the game. You CAN play it... but Fire gives much less resistance than many other defensive sets, and Ice does far less damage than many other melee sets. If you want difficulty, go with a Fire/Ice Tanker.

Dude, I'd SO join the Grammar Nazis.
Or Grammar Fascists.
I talk with absolute PERFECT GRAMMAR on Co* anyway. So why not have a VG dedicated to it? It's perfect! -

Yes! The Extraordinary [censored] Clowns. It was a group of players (from the Blaster forums, IIRC) that decided to roll up a toon and abide by only one rule: "It's my $15, I'll play however I want." That was an awesome group of people and we, surprisingly, steam-rolled the Hollows. There was a Scrapper that would run through the level and pull *everything* back to the group, that was his 'thing'. As Fulmens stated, we had Tankers that would play Defender, Blasters that played Controller/Defender, Defenders that played Blasters, etc. That was the only time I actually had fun in the Hollows. I had an AR/Dev Blaster that played Controller using only Trops, Web, Taser and Beanbag, but never used any attack abilities because "I'm a Controller, not a Damager."

Dang. I want to join that SG. :0 -
I'll bite.
Blargenwargen (AR/Fire Blaster): Wargenblargen (AR/Fire Corrupter)
Petey Pencil (MA/Regen Scrapper): Benny Pen (MA/Regen Stalker)
Gish Gerrone (Ice/Sonics Controller): Mercy Merrone (Ice/Sonics Corrupter)
That's all I got at the moment. -

Concussion Collective!

I like that one, actually. -
Double-XP? Sweeeeeeet.
I wonder if this will stack with the Patrol XP? 3.5% XP, mebbe? -
I have an Ice/Sonics Controller that I highly enjoy, but it is built for teams, and is slightly more than useless solo. Plus, it sucks Endurance like a Hoover.
For your (highly specific, difficult) needs, I would go with a Kheld. I really don't play Khelds all that much, so I have no idea which. BUT PBs get Fly automatically, and as a previous poster said, they also get Hover automatically at level 10. And f you want to be a Jack-of-al-trades, I would try an all-human PB/WS. My best friend has an all-human PB, and he LOVES it.
That's my two cents.
PS- I15 is making some Dominators horrible, so don't try them unless you have good knowledge that it will work! -
Hey there again Corrupter peoples!
I, being the altoholic that I am, have a GREAT new idea for a character! I want him to be a Corrupter, but to tell the truth, I have no clue which powersets I want!
I really want Dark/Rad, or Rad/Dark. Both will work for me. But I don't know which, since I have very little experience in either.
Or should I do something else entirely? Rad/Rad? Dark/Dark?
I'm also open to other secondaries. As long as I don't end up being a huge support person. I really just wanna nuke the heck outta things, while buffing and debufing along the way.
Help meh! -
I've been trying to contact you guys, and nobody's been answering me. My character that I want to join is the Shrupsher Smasher. My global is @D0M1N0
Please answer meh! >_> -
I know what you're saying Shadow. I hate people who RP... and then, when YOU RP they attack you!
Like I had a character on villain side, who is a crochety old supervillain who just came out of retirement. He's basically a homophobe, and so when I got on a team with two dudes who were RPing as guys "on the other side of the fence" I was practically reported. Had to ease up, or I WOULD have been.
In another case, I was on a Mutant extremist who HATED Arachnos with a passion, and so when a Spider came on my team, me and her had a very long (ver, very fun) RP session of smack-talking one another back and forth.
Well, the WHOLE time some girl was PMing me over and over and over about how I needed to be "mor nice" or she "would do something about it." Which made no sense, since she wasn't the team leader, and the leader knew that we were RPing. And no matter HOW many tmes I explained to her that we were having a good time, and just staying in character, she would NOT shut up!
Argh.
Now I'm all angry and stuff. -
Yeah. I truly hope that someday, we'll have grappling hooks and "ice slides" (or other slides).
But I prefer that they work on more important stuff first, like they've been doing. -
Why is this thread not dead yet?!
-
My best name is either Blargenwargen, my Blaster, or Petey Pencil, my MA/Regen Scrapper whsoe costume looks like a pencil.
really couldn't choose between the two.
Oh, I also have Napoleon Washington, which is catchy. -
Sorry dude. This is a Teen rating, even if a male character makes a female costume. >_> Which I won't be doing.
But what if somebody wants a male and female character of the same AT and powerset? Won't it just be easier to make a female/male costume? They could play like two seperate characters.
Anyway, your argument is invalid. Good day. -
Ya know... I actually agree with everything the above poster just said. Go with all of that!
But I would suggest that it was NOT Dr. Aeon that found him. He's a mad scientist. He stays holed up in his labs for the most part. Maybe Silver Mantis, though. She is a lower level villain, and thus has many more "hands on" type missions. She could have easily found him, and with the help of her connections, gotten him his eye piece. -
Congo rats man!
So... is she a Radiation Emission/Sonic Blast Defender? -
Oh my gosh. I's like they took the new scientist "one button set" directly from my sketchbook of one of my characters.
I neeeeeed this naow! -
Whoah, holy dang. This is sweet!
-
This is fan-freaking-tastic.
This will surely be the first "booster" pack that I buy. Because seriously. Shapeshifting PB/WS! Size changing! Little kids piloting giant robots! Shazam! And the list goes on! -
*yawn*
Hey guys. I love Summer. Let's ya get up at noon. -
Good news!
I was on my new Scrapper, Napoleon Washington last night. Joined a sewer team.
More than HALF of us there were RPers!
There was me, the chatterbox/sarcastic/biting insults teenage type.
There was a (presumably newbie RPer) bigoted, confused PPD cop who had been transferred to Paragon from the NYPD. (it was interesting talking to him, since he seemed to be a superhero "racist"...)
There was the kind, but stern healer who made the occasional remark and made sure my insults weren't taken too seriously.
And then there was the "acting team leader." Not ACTUALLY the team leader, but the hero that never cracked a smile, and was DEAD SRS BZNS. Still, a fairly good RPer.
And then there were a couple of other dudes who didn't RP, or even type words. Which was alright.
This has given me new hope. Mostly because a guy that I spotted as a new RPer. Note the word NEW. Which means that we're not Freedom yet! Hahaha! -
I try to. I do, occasionally, find RP teams. Usually on villain-side, though.

You should post that over in the art section and see if anyone can draw it up.

It's been done - a while back (like, over a year ago, probably two). I remember seeing someone's photoshopped picture for it, though.

Yes, and that was a funny pic, too. Sure wish I knew where it was; i would post a link.

Found it!

Oh my good gosh.
Now I wish that I could actually fight that guy in the game. He would be hilarious.
