But that would take away the whole koolness factor of actually being able to look out at the zone the building is in and seeing other characters jumping and flying around outside.
No thanks. I have a rig that can handle the load and I like these buildings just the way they are. Sorry if your rig can't handle it, but you can always use Studio B.
-
Sorry, pal, the others are right.
This would cause problems and it is completely unnecessary. Leading a team doesn't take a huge amount of extra effort. If you really feel it is such a hardship to create and maintain a team, then don't do it. Others will be glad to take up the reins.

As long as you skip the merits that would have been rewarded for the arc as well, why not?
On the other hand, what if the arc is all that contact has left to offer you? Then you just skip right to the end of the contact and they say, "I have nothing more to offer you."
As for always having a second mission to offer, that would require writing a whole lot of filler missions to allow the contact to continue giving the same number of missions they would have had you done the arc, and even then they will still offer the arc when those missions run out (if you're still in their level range).
Filler missions will run out at some point. They can't have an endless supply.
Edit: And if you want an endless supply of Paper/Radio style missions then do Radio/Paper missions.

Two words, tankmage and gimp. That is why the anamorphic skills system the game was originally created with was changed to a archetype power system. That is the way it should remain.

I'm sure the COMPANY has 50 employees, but how many of them actually work in the same cubicle farm alongside Positron, War Witch & Co.?
[/ QUOTE ]
Paragon Studios (the division of NCSoft that develops that game) has over 50 employees. This is not counting GMs, administrators or sales and advertising execs at the NCSoft corporate offices.
Paragon Studios employees all work in the same building in North California. I don't know if it qualifies as a cubical farm though. I haven't personally seen the interior of the building.

What is a "Teaming Day?"
[/ QUOTE ]
Like say, you always have free time to play on Saturdays. You talk with some others in your SG and they do also. So, you set a time to meet and play together on Saturday each week. That's a teaming day.
-
In the last interview I read, Posi said that they have over 50 employees now and were getting ready to take a new company pic. I haven't seen the new pic yet.
-
I agree with Lemur. The best way to make a SG active is to create SG teams or events. Set up a day every week where you only team with SG mates. Create a SG team where each character only plays with that team. Create a SuperTeam and run that once a week. When you have regular events scheduled that people can get into they stick around longer.
Good luck.

The reason salvage is becoming more rare is not because more people are selling it to vendors. It is because more people are playing MA arcs for tickets and using those tickets to roll for recipes instead of salvage. So, anything for which market stock comes mainly or only from drops (Salvage, Costume Recipes) is becoming shorter and shorter in supply.
So, your plan would do nothing. The four or five newbs that do sell salvage at vendors would supply a very small amount of salvage through that medium that would still not make up for the loss of veterans farming salvage in regular missions and selling it on the market themselves.
Don't worry. In time the shininess of MA will wear off and people will go back to farming salvage again. You just have to be patient.

Yes, let's make it possible for people to judge a character the instant they can open their description window. Not IOed out on that 50 tank? No ITF. Not stocked w/ 6 heals on that rock-a-aura? No team for you.
NTY. This is something that will be available for the Vault and allows the players to option out of showing their builds. That is the way it should be.

We know about the Power Suppression room. But you have to leave that room and walk through the lag-fest to get to the contact and mission entrance.

[/ QUOTE ]
Then make a suggestion to create a Holo Contact and mission beam in the Power Suppression room.
Some people want to role play their characters in the AE building. Some people want to use their travel powers to run or fly around the room while they're waiting for the leader to choose the next mission. I see no reason to stop them from doing so.
After all, we're not using our travel powers to travel if we're doing AE missions. We can at least use them to have fun. Otherwise it's just a lot of standing around waiting.

Not to mention they now have level 50 characters with no influence, no enhancements and no salvage/recipes.
[/ QUOTE ]
How is that a problem? They can always beg for it, or jump on the forums and ask for a nice influence starter package for 50s as the NEXT veteran award.
[/ QUOTE ]
Or buy inf from a RMT spammer.
Really, the kind of players that would want this kind of Vet Reward are exactly the kind that would buy influence with real money. Or they are the farmers that are making the influence for these companies in the first place.
Another good reason NOT to implement this idea.
-
Um, if you had gone through the tutorial you would know that the AE building has a separate area (Stage B or something) that has full Power Suppression on all the time. There is no need to make the entire building do that. Just use that area.
As for Wentworth, it is an open building and it is apparently more difficult to do power suppression in an open area.
Edit: Plus assuming that they could do power suppression in an open area, what happens when someone is just running/jumping past? Do they get suppressed and have to reactivate their powers just because they got too close to the BM or WW?

And also, a while back I suggested combining the EU and US servers. This would give EU players the ability to play on US servers and would give the EU servers a new influx of US players. It's a win win if it's possible to do.
[/ QUOTE ]And before anyone goes ape-doodie, Black means "add the EU server list and the US server list together, so that there is a total of 15 servers", not "blend the EU servers into the US servers, remaining at 11 US servers".
[/ QUOTE ]
Precisely. Thanks, Agge.

I think you meant to say Steel Canyon.
[/ QUOTE ]No, I checked before posting. It may be that the same model is re-used in both zones, but I only checked AP since I was there at the time.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, according to in-game story, I believe the Paragon Times Building is located in Steel Canyon.
-
I play 147 characters across all eleven servers, including multi-server characters that exist on all servers for thematic reasons and I wouldn't want to lose any of them or have them dumbed down just to make it more convenient for you. Thank you.
Edit: Also, remember a lot of us work or go to school during the day, dude.

The Paragon Times Building
Isn't that in-game? We just need to give it an inside
Edit: Yes, it's just east of the Vault Reserve in Atlas Park.
[/ QUOTE ]
Agreed.
We really need more insides all over the place. I'd like to see the inside of those Bar and Grills, the Grocery Stores, the Pizza Shops and the Donut Shops while we're at it. That would open the doors for some lower class types of Day Jobs too (Bartender, Waiter/Waitress, Checkout Clerk, Bagboy/Baggirl, Pizza Guy or Gal, Baker). Not everyone is a Stock Broker, Banker, City Official or Fashion Designer.

But doesn't change my views.

Well it should, as far as how the origins are defined in the game.
As for however you define them out of the game, feel free to make up anything you want.

Not sure if they would add any more to Science (Cyborg), since you already got what you paid for. I am sure Cyborg is science since it is science fiction, half man half robot. Tech would be like gadgets and stuff. But the others I like!
[/ QUOTE ]
To add on to Blackavaar's comment: Using gadgets and tools is more of a Natural thing. It's kind of a fine line, but basically anything James Bond would get from Q is in line with Natural, whereas a suit of power armor, cyborg implants, or an antimatter gun is Tech. Science is mostly chemicals, radiation, or drugs -- Captain America, The Elongated Man, and The Fantastic Four are all examples of Science origin heroes.
Freeze rays and time control might be SCIENCE!, but sadly, we lack that origin. ;p
[/ QUOTE ]
Could be argued that Fantastic Four are mutant. They were mutated when he thing in the space station happened.
[/ QUOTE ]
Nope, they're Science. If they were anything else it would be Cosmic, since they were altered by cosmic radiation. But alas that Origin is not available in CoH.
Mutant = granted powers by a mutation of the genetic structure by natural means (ie. evolution).
Science = granted powers by a mutation of the genetic structure by unnatural means (ie. scientific experimentation).

I'm looking forward to seeing the last 3 in-game.

Well, I think the Vanguard Sigil is going to look like this.
I'm figuring the Kheldian ones will look a l lot like their current transformation animations. And I don't think they'll be so great that VEATs will really give a damn.

[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, I saw these. But while those are good, I still like my ideas more.
[ QUOTE ]
Anyway as far as the OP's emote suggestions go I like them all although my guess is that we'll never get a ccPhoneBooth one for the same reason we'll never get a "Newspaper Reporter" Day Job either. One could argue that some of the other costume change emotes are fairly familiar, but that one is SO iconic that it'd be obvious which existing hero IP that one came from.
[/ QUOTE ]
Not necessarily. There have been other heroes that used a phone booth to change in. I know Supes is the most famous, but he isn't the only hero to ever do that. Does this mean revolving doors are out of the question too?
If that is the case however, then my other Natural alternative would be the simple:
ccninjasmoke
I know a lot of players that want that one and it's an animation that is already in the game.

[/ QUOTE ]
No, Cyborg was released as the Tech Booster pack. Half robot sounds more like Tech to me than Science. You're implanting technology to make yourself more powerful, faster, etc..
Science is more when you're involved in a chemical explosion that changes you or you drink or inject a serum that changes you or when you're bitten by a radioactive spider that changes you, etc.. Being involved in a scientific experiment that changes the genetic structure of your body is Science. Having some mad scientist implant cybernetic parts in you is Technology.

[ QUOTE ]
There are lots of arcs out there already. An absurd amount. Enough that many people fear they have no chance of anyone ever finding their story amongst the masses. Quite a few of those people are right, as nearly no one is playing their arcs.
Three arcs per person is already enough content to drown out the gems, and make it truly hard to find something playable.
I really don't think we need any more, at the moment. If you want more slots, make an arc good enough to be a Dev's Choice.
[/ QUOTE ]
This is exactly how I feel on this subject. You don't need more space for arcs. You need originality and some writing chops.
I've tried several MA arcs recently that are belligerently filled with texting and leet speak, with less of a story than your average Pokemon episode. These kind of arcs will never become a Devs Choice and will definitely never be official game canon. Come on kids. It's time to grow up and learn the language.
