AE Buildings -> Portal D "clone"
Portal D? you mean Pocket D right?
The lag is bad in Atlas when you are anywhere near the AE building (or anywhere in the zone really) but I haven't noticed AE lag outside of there.
I really do like the fact that I can go to almost any zone and have an AE building almost to myself. Plus being able to look out the windows and see the landscape, and walk out onto the balcony is just TOO cool! I wouldn't want to give either of those two things up.
But that's just my opinion.
the AE buildings are useless eyesores right now, why would you want to put more useless junk in pocket D?
Put something USEFUL there instead.

There's already useful stuff in there. A Vault, Inspiration sales at the bartenders, last I heard, and I think they upgraded War Witch to a trainer.
But no, the OP was talking about making the AE work like a Clone of Pocket D, not to actually put in into Pocket D.
So you could, say, enter the St. M AE building and team with folks inside the Cap Au Diable AE? And not have AE's LFT spam mixed with regular zone broadcast.
But that would take away the whole koolness factor of actually being able to look out at the zone the building is in and seeing other characters jumping and flying around outside.
No thanks. I have a rig that can handle the load and I like these buildings just the way they are. Sorry if your rig can't handle it, but you can always use Studio B.
It isn't so bad now, but I have seen a number of people moaning about the lag when near AE buildings.
Don't know how big a issue it is, but I have thought of a solution:
Make the insides of the AE buildings a fully fledged zone much like portal D.
But, you may say, that would mean that you could go from any zone to any other, nah, thought of that one, only one entrance/exit door, much like the base entrance, so you return to the zone that you entered from.
Would mean, if you log out in AE then it would "eject" you, and you would be standing outside when you log back in, but I can live with that.
Not sure if a communial "base" type zone for AE would be easy, but instancing it should keep the numbers manageable.
