I was wondering, is the placement of the Restoration Techs in the AE building a hint as to the dev attitude toward sides in the game?
Check out these images:
CoH Medtech
CoV Medtech
Is this some kind of hint?
He he he! Just kidding.

What DumpleBerry said. And yes, "cc 5" will switch to the 6th costume.
However, in my experience, it's not always a copy of the second slot either, it seems to be a duplicate of whichever costume you are currently wearing when the slot is added, so lik ehe said.. make it something good before you earn it, then edit your existing slot to something else and you'll have 6 different costumes.
[/ QUOTE ]
Oh, then what would happen if I was wearing the VEAT costume at the time? Would I get a second VEAT costume and be able to do my helmet and non-helmet versions finally?
-
Kool. Thanks, Dumple.
Now I have to start playing my VEATs more often.

Now again, what was the reason villains didn't get empathy ported over?
[/ QUOTE ]
Because the act of empathizing with someone else's pain is in itself a heroic act. Sure, an Empath can go bad, but they will always be empathizing with those around them, which is inherently heroic.
So, when you think about it, it still makes sense that an Empath would have to start on the good side.
-
I'll probably just create a bind for it. So, that would be cc 5 for the bind, yes?
-
The busy zones on villainside are Cap Au Diable and Grandville. You can go to those zones on pretty much any server and find teams broadcasting for members during peak hours. During off hours good luck. That's why I'm so glad villain ATs solo so well. When I can't find a team, at least I can still do something.
-
[ QUOTE ]
No problem. One good thing about that though is with VEATs you get a 6th costume slot at level 10 as part of the VEAT arcs if you're looking for that new slot still. Part of Brick Johnson's arc (i'm pretty sure, might have the name wrong) unlocks a costume slot. You can access his missions starting level 10 if you follow the VEAT arcs.
Note: If you unlock this extra one, plus the other 4 slots (3 tailor missions, and the halloween salvage slot), you'll still only have 5 slots showing up on the UI and you won't be able to edit the 6th slot, but you can select it using binds.
[/ QUOTE ]
Wait a minute. You can get a sixth slot but you can't edit it? So, what's the point? It's just going to end up being a duplicate of the first slot, isn't it?
Edit: No, I haven't had a VEAT up that high of level yet.

Just for kicks - quickly thrown together illustration of some of those terms. >.>

Can't find video. That or it's just not wanting to play for me.
[/ QUOTE ]
I see it fine.
It needs a little editing to make it more fluid (there's a moment during LFT where it sticks on the blue screen a little longer than necessary) and the intro for each abbreviation should be consistent (some intros are full page, some are not). But hey, for a quickly thrown together little vid, it's good. I might have picked a more energizing song though.

In addition I would like to see exterior textures (grass, hills, stone walkways, etc.) added to the Base Editor. This would allow us to make peaceful gardens and proper graveyards for your tombstones.
And it's spelled, maybe.

Um, why don't you just go to the Arena?
Really, how is the Arena going to get more use by adding an Arena kiosk nowhere near an Arena?
What's the matter with actually using the Arena?
-
[ QUOTE ]
/unsigned. It can get annoying, but sometimes you want to broadcast something to the whole zone while in the AE buildings.
[/ QUOTE ]
In addition, how could this be done? Really the only way they would be able to do this would be to move the interior of the building to another separate zone. That would kind of ruin the aesthetic quality of being able to actually see the zone you're in through the windows.
No thanks. If you don't want to listen to brioadcast you can always turn it off or go to another zone.
Remember, the broadcast channel is in zone only. If you are broadcasting in Atlas Park only people in Atlas Park can hear you.
-
Yep, Knockout Blow is always right handed, no matter the AT.
-
Remember, i15 was already in the works when the Architect was held back from i13 and changed into i14. The time frame you are suggesting for i15's release does not take this into account. i15 will likely be out before the end of summer.
Going Rogue will likely be released in time for the Christmas Shopping season.

Try changing your difficulty setting and then changing it back to Heroic and see if that helps. This has helped me when I came across that problem. Sometimes the difficulty settings seem to mix themselves up, especially when you change them a lot.

What if those new players... "finally quit when they decide they don't want to grind THRU BORING LVLS X-Y any more."
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, I think part of the point being made is that the new players being powerleveled to 50 didn't grind through boring levels x-y, at all.
I have no problem with experienced players PLing past the parts that they have played through before and hated. My objection is to taking a new player along for the ride and not letting them decide for themselves that "levels x-y are boring."
It is entirely possible that the levels that you consider boring could be the kind of content the new player was looking for when they came to the game. This is what makes taking a newbie and inducting them into AE farms from the moment they step into Atlas Park a bad idea.
When an experienced player powerlevels, they usually have a goal in mind. The only goal that exists for the new player doing this is the level cap, expecially if they came from another game where the game really kicks in at the level cap. Can you blame them for getting bored or frustrated when they just spent 4-12 hours doing the same mission over and over again to get to 50, just to be told that the major activities to do at 50 is to either farm moar for phat lewt, do the same 5 raids or TF's over and over again, or go back and do the things they missed in Orobouros?
This is how powerleveling "distorts the game" for new players.

Precisely. Thank you, Lightfoot.

AFT - Another Farming Thread.
And by that I mean - You can't eliminate it in game, you can't stop the threads here.
It's in every MMO.
Let's just keep things as is and admit it's okay. The broadcast spam has stopped. The hype is over. It's fine. Get to 50 in 4 hours. Besides the anti farming stance, there's nothing to stop it besides gutting the game and making it City of Heroes: Level 10 Forever!!!
[/ QUOTE ]
Oh, yeah. It's fine. No problem with new players getting the impression that this is what the game is all about. No biggie when they get to 50, can't properly play their characters and find out there's not much to do except more farming to grind your way to those purples. No problem at all when they leave 3 months later for another game because their experience of this game was skewed by PLers. Yeah, that's no big deal at all. Let everybody do whatever they want because they're going to find a way to do it anyway.
I hope you sensed the sarcasm there because I was laying it on pretty thick.
[/ QUOTE ]
Hmmm, nice sarcasm I guess. Does an illogical argument still get the positive benefit of being really sarcastic? Isn't it pretty reasonable that the same people who can't stand to play the game till lvl 50 without getting PL are probably also the ones who wouldn't stick around for more than three months if PL'ing didn't exist?
Personally...I don't really get PL'ing. Most of my 50s collect dust so getting to 50 so quickly defeats the purpose. But, if there are others that enjoy playing that way then more power to them. The idea that it somehow has a signfnicant impact on the enjoyment of the game is sort of amusing. I haven't had any enjoyment differences over the last two months...anyone else?
[/ QUOTE ]
I guess you really didn't get the point of the sarcasm though. I enjoy the game just as much as I always did. The PLers don't affect me at all because I don't play with them.
My main objection to this is that new players get the impression that this is the way the game is supposed to be played. They get PLed to 50, have no clue how to use their character properly, can't play through a TF or SF entirely because their massive misunderstanding of their characters causes wipe after wipe until the team finally dissolves and they finally quit when they decide they don't want to grind for IO sets and purples any more.
We shouldn't be giving new players the impression that this game is just a costume creation system with a bunch of dings that follow. There's an adventure to be had, but it's not going to be found among the farms, AE or otherwise.

[ QUOTE ]
I would think as long as you set the costume change effect under the costume window that it would, but I haven't tested it.
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually, if you set it on the Costume Window (Menu > Costume) and then change your Keybinding Options (Menu > Options > Keybinds), no, pushing those buttons will not activate the costume change emote. I have tried this.
In order to do this you need to set up a /bind.
This is what I use:
/bind numpad1 "emote none$$cce 0 cclightning"
/bind numpad2 "emote none$$cce 1 ccprestochango"
/bind numpad3 "emote none$$cce 2 cccast"
/bind numpad4 "emote none$$cce 3 ccspin"
/bind numpad5 "emote none$$cce 4 cclightning"
You can substitute any key you like for the "numpad#" part and then use whichever CC emote you want to use at the end.
Adding the "emote none" part to the beginning just assures that your combat stance will turn off so that the CC emote can work properly.

Done. Thanks for update regarding bugs. I sent a ticket, we'll see how it's handled. Here is an idea for 63 month veteran reward....Free "Going Rogue" hehe. Seeing as how i've spent 900 bucks on this game so far, I think a free expansion would be in order hahaha. Nah, just kidding. Would be cool though.
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually there was leak a while back of a Vet Power that is likely to be the 63 month reward called Veteran Reveal. This would be usable once per hour and would have the effect of removing the Fog of War from whatever map you use it on.
I can't seem to find the link to the image and description right now. I'm sure someone will come along who has it though.

this game isnt hard to play lol
People dont wanna waste their life away grinding.
99% of the people who play this game PL & its been like that since I started this game yrs ago.
GL to them trying to nerf PL.
[/ QUOTE ]
Um, wait just a minute. What grinding? I mean, come on, man. The missions and story arcs and TFs/SFs throughout the game have great stories. Why is it such a grind to level for people like you? Because you make it that way. If you never read the stories and get into the adventure you will not enjoy the game and you will probably end up just leaving again when your AE farms get nerfed and you can't hurry up the dings all the time any more.
PLing is not what the game is all about and 99% of the players of this game DO NOT do it too, just 99% of the people you happen to see and team with. If you never leave Atlas Park or Peregrine Island you're never going to see teams that don't PL. I suggest you try actually playing through the missions sometime. Take the time to actually read them. Enjoy the story. Stop waiting for the ding of your next level. Otherwise you're just a quitter waiting for a nerf to piss you off.

Where is this reference coming from? Did you see it in game somewhere? Was it a name discussed by a contact? If so, which contact told you this name? Was it just something a player was saying? Could it possibly be referring to the Pinnacle server and spelled by a drunk person? Pinnacle is the "drunk" server after all.
We need more information to research properly.

Okay this seems to happen alot so could someone explain if there is something more going on?
Blackavaar's post was over a half hour after Alt posted that they found Percy. Yet it seems as if Alt's post was not visible to Blackavaar when they later posted.
Or is this simply a matter of not hitting refresh?
[/ QUOTE ]
It's simply a matter of not hitting refresh. However, the information I posted will still be useful to anyone else who finds themselves in the same situation and uses search to find this thread, while Alt may not be here to join their team and lead them to it. So, it really doesn't matter.
-
I would assume they would make it so that if you switch sides you lose contact with your former villainous/heroic brethren.
This insures that heroes and villains would still not be able to trade (moving items through use of salvage and enhancement racks) and would make it as easy as possible to track what is what and who is who.
Co-op SGs? I very seriously doubt it. Not only does it not make sense thematically (The Champions of Paragon allow criminals in their HG? The Killer Spiders have heroes in their VG?), it's a slippery slope to just making the whole game co-op. Forget that mess.
As others have stated though, this is all conjecture. We really just don't know. But just think about it for a second. Would you really want this? Would this be good for the game? The answer to me is clearly no.
-
Then what if a player in a SG found a way to exploit the system (like the MEOW missions)? And what if the other players in the SG kept it quiet so that their SG could farm the crap out the mission without fear of it ever being reported and banned since it doesn't appear in the MA missions the public can test and report?
Sorry, that's a no go for me.
Yes, the SG mission computer should be used for something. No, this is not it.
