    Cape Question

    [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]
I believe it's possible to get a High Collar Arachos Cape if you have both, for the record. It looks sweet.

    [/ QUOTE ]
High-collared Arachnos cape, with a Wolf Spider helm nestled inside, looks awesome.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I like the High Collar Arachnos cape with the Mystic Helm. With the cape done in all reds you can get a very nice Mu look.

  2. You need a space between {color: and blue}. The correct coding should look like this {color: blue} but with {} replaced with [] of course.

    Villain Empaths?

    [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]
The power of Empathy is the ability to sense and manipulate the emotions of other people psionically.

    [/ QUOTE ]
That is complete hooey. The power Empathy and the even the definition of the word "empathy" has nothing to do with the manipulation of emotions.

As for any psionic involvement, please show me even one example that Empathy has anything to do with Psionic powers.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The power Empathy is a Psionic power and is basically an extension of Telepathy, but instead of reading thoughts, you read emotions. The power (as described in various texts and PnP RPGs) is one way only. The Empath feels the target's emotions and does not gain any kind of control over the target. Generally the power of Empathy does not bestow any healing abilities.

Being that in this game the Empath feels his team mates' pain and then heals those wounds, it is inherently a power that only someone who was heroic (not good) would be able to use. A villainous (not evil) character would not use that power in such a way because a villainous character would be more apt to care about himself than others. Hence Pain Domination was created, which allows a Corr or MM to keep his team mates alive for his own sake, not theirs.

Edit: Oh and example; AD&D Second Edition Psionics Handbook, Shadowrun, Darksun: The Prism Pentad collection by Troy Denning, the Dune novels.

  4. You want Shield Defense without a Shield for a concept?

So, why don't you take one of the other Defensive sets? Try Willpower. It has many of the same strong points as Shield Defense.

Or is this really just about wanting to do a Shield Charge without having to use a Shield?

    AE Teleporter?

    [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]
... or alternately, if you're on a team, treat it like a train mission. Go to the nearest AE building, hit the stream, and be there.

    Either one's good with me.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    This.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    That.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yep. That's the way it should have been in the first place.

  6. Studio B was obviously created to allow players with lower end systems to use the Architect system without worry of lag from too many active powers and auras.

The problem is that it only helps these players when they are creating or editing an arc. If they want to talk to the Holocontact or enter the mission they have to leave Studio B.

So, how about adding a Holocontact and a mission beam to Studio B. I'm more than positive that this would get a lot of use, especially in overcrowded zones like Atlas Park during peak hours on Freedom.

  7. The limitation is an anti-farming nerf to keep players from exploiting certain enemy groups on various maps. It comes from the days when a Tank (usually Fire/) and a Blaster (also often Fire/) would herd an entire map of Freaks (or Wolves or Ninjas) into a single dumpster and blast them into oblivion.

Good luck trying to get it reversed.

    Vintage Cape?

    [ QUOTE ]
Even the vet reward Arachnos chest symbol is different than the CoV CE version (the vet reward version has a border and does not have a smooth transition from color 1 to color 2).

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yes, the Veteran Arachnos Chest Detail has a border, while the CoV CE version has a gradient effect.

Note: These have gotten mixed up before because they have nearly identical names. For a while the Veteran Arachnos symbol was the same as the CoV CE version.

  9. [ QUOTE ]
The Pre-release CoV box set was released with two Arachnos helmets - 1 male and 1 female

    [/ QUOTE ]

Note: Only the Blood Widow helmet came with two versions, one for female (the Blood Widow helmet) and one for male (a red Wolf Spider helmet). The others only had one helmet and it was the same for either gender.

    [ QUOTE ]
It looks like they combined the whole set of what was available via the CoV pre-release in the CoV collector's edition box.

    [/ QUOTE ]

No, the CoV CE does not come with any of the Pre-Order helmets.

  10. The Unlockable Costume Pieces page on paragonwiki lists all of these plus several pieces that are unlockable by in game actions.

    Purchasable options include:

City of Villains Collector's Edition (Arachnos Cape, Arachnos Chest Detail, not the same as the Veteran Reward version)

City of Villains Pre-Order (One of four Arachnos Helmets depending on the store where it was pre-ordered, all four of these are now available as the 51 month Veteran Reward)

Good vs Evil edition (Sinister and Justice Costume Sets, Jump Pack and Pocket D VIP Teleport and badge, the Pocket D VIP badge grants access to the Tiki Room, a special area of the club with it's own tailor and bartender contacts)

Mac Edition (Valkyrie Costume Set, including Wings, Armored Wings and Capes plus Mission Teleporter power)

  11. Hey, at least you didn't get the bug where you enter a different instance of the mission and find yourself in the map all alone.

    Villain Empaths?

    [ QUOTE ]
It makes sense. An empath is someone who can feel another's emotions. Now imagine an Empath who is completely psychotic? Feeling everyone's pain around them, getting a kick out of it, a rise out of it. So they use their powers of Empathy to twist up their opponent's emotions driving them to the brink of insanity while getting their own allies in the right kind of mindset to promote more misery.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That would be Apathy. The complete disregard for the emotions of others in favor of the emotions you yourself feel as a result. IMO, this is what Pain Domination should have been called.

Still, as others have said, these powers and their titles and descriptions are merely placeholders for whatever power you imagine the character actually using. Some people imagine they are using medical techniques. Others might call it the light of heaven. Still others may imagine it is a set of druidic spells.

Either way, I doubt these powersets will be proliferated cross faction, since they are basically the same set when it comes down to it.

also i still havent found the new costume part i unlocked. when i turned 24 as widow and was able to respec it said on my screen "new costume part unlocked"

any idea what this part mite be? maybe im just over looking.

    ~thanx

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, the unlocked part wouldn't have anything to do with you turning 24 or being an SoA. What were you doing at the time? Have you been awarded any Defeat badges recently? There are some unlockable Claws you may have accessed. This is probably the most likely case. As a Widow however, you won't actually be able to use those Claws.

But really, as a level 24 it couldn't have been either of the Claws. Vanguard Claws require becoming a member and collecting Vanguard Merits to unlock them and you're way too low to have unlocked the Rularuu Claws.

    I'm stumped on this one.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Lvl 24 is the forced Respec.

Any time you respec a character with customizable weapons, it basically takes the weapons away, and it will say "unlocked costume piece" when you are re-issued the weapon at the end of the respec.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Aha! Yeah, that's gotta be it. You got a phantom unlock message.

  14. [ QUOTE ]
i unlocked the 2nd costume slot. suprisingly it wouldnt let me edit the widow archtype costume under that slot only the normal game outfits.

i kind of wanted go for 1 slot with a helm and one w/o ...

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, that's what we were discussing above. Unfortunately at this time you can only have one Arachnos costume and only in Costume Slot 1. All following Costume Slots have regular costume parts accessible only.

  15. Are you entering the AE mission from the same building the other players did, or are you in a building located in another zone?

For some reason you don't seem to be able to enter AE missions from a different building than the leader of the team did.

  16. [ QUOTE ]
And no, temp powers ignore buffs.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Are you sure about that, Mateo?

According to the numbers my accuracy appears to go up on Sands of Mu, Ghost Slaying Axe and Nemesis Staff whenever I use accuracy inspirations.

Swallowing yellows before a Self Destruct always seems to insure that I hit all the enemies in my range. Is it really just blind luck?

  17. [ QUOTE ]

Every time I use the power I just blow up. I thought it was supposed to make me drink too much, do drugs, sleep with unsavory women and invest my money in shady schemes.

    What gives?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    LOL

    Good one.

  18. [ QUOTE ]
    Do inspies buff temp powers?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yes, Inspirations are a global buff.

  19. Note: There is a to hit check made against the enemies. You do actually have to hit them for it to do damage. Try swallowing a couple of yellows before you test it next time.

  20. [ QUOTE ]
Nope. Well, not handy. But for you, I looked it up.

/unsigned. It can get annoying, but sometimes you want to broadcast something to the whole zone while in the AE buildings.

    [/ QUOTE ]

In addition, how could this be done? Really the only way they would be able to do this would be to move the interior of the building to another separate zone. That would kind of ruin the aesthetic quality of being able to actually see the zone you're in through the windows.

No thanks. If you don't want to listen to brioadcast you can always turn it off or go to another zone.

Remember, the broadcast channel is in zone only. If you are broadcasting in Atlas Park only people in Atlas Park can hear you.

[/ QUOTE ]We would loose the cool windows but on the other hand all the AE players would suddenly be in the same zone (or AE 2 o r3) and Atlas Broadcast can go back to being people arguing about what levels should run sewer farms and who has the prettiest cyborg cat school girl.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I would prefer to keep the koolest buildings to be added to the game since CoV launched instead, thanks.

You can always have your cat girl arguments and costume contests in Galaxy City if you want to. That zone could use some life.

And reminder to AE users, there is an AE building in every single zone except PvP and Hazard zones and special cases like Croatoa and Cimerora. You don't all have to gather in Atlas Park and Cap Au Diable.

QR: Go in game, and type [Reveal]. The icon image is on ParagonWiki, but doesn't really 'reveal' anything. Har har. Bear in mind that there have/are/and will always be powers and art that are added that don't ever make it into the live game.

[/ QUOTE ] Do you think that would work on mission maps?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I would assume so. I'm only guessing, but my thought was that the game wasn't able to tell the difference between mission map fog and zone map fog.

I'm actually really really hoping for this to come true. It's usefulness is super limited...but at the same time I think it might be a great reward for all the Vet's who have played this game for nearly forever, and still have to deal with map fog.

First off: uncover all the gravity geyser paths in the Storm Palace. I already have almost the entire FBZ and Cascade Archipelago explored.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Being OCD myself and having to uncover the fog completely on every map (yes, even in missions), I can't wait for this Vet Power.

I knew you would have the link, Dumple.

Edit: Do you happen to have the link to the image on Paragonwiki as well?

    <QR>

What DumpleBerry said. And yes, "cc 5" will switch to the 6th costume.

However, in my experience, it's not always a copy of the second slot either, it seems to be a duplicate of whichever costume you are currently wearing when the slot is added, so lik ehe said.. make it something good before you earn it, then edit your existing slot to something else and you'll have 6 different costumes.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Oh, then what would happen if I was wearing the VEAT costume at the time? Would I get a second VEAT costume and be able to do my helmet and non-helmet versions finally?

[/ QUOTE ] Think about what happened when you got your second slot on your VEAT.. The same thing would happen to your 6th slot if you were in your 1st costume when you unlocked it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Oooh, yeah. Not good at all. I definitely don't want a "blank" costume.

    Thanks again.

  24. Blackavaar

    Is this a hint?

    [ QUOTE ]
It may be different for each facility. For example, the signature NPCs sprinkled about each branch.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Other facilities do not have the robotic Medtech you see in the images. Only the locations in Mercy and Atlas Park have these as they are part of the Architect Studio Manager's introduction mission.

    I checked.

  25. Too bad. It would be nice to have a second VEAT slot. Thanks again.
