What ever happened to the in game ads?

Really, it's been a long time since I've seen any new ads.

Have we simply given up?
Are we having trouble selling the space?
Maybe we should try advertising that we have advertising?
Maybe we should add an Advertising page to the Official website for prospective clients to go to?
Maybe we should focus on trying to secure ads that pertain to the market we are selling to?

Really, it seems that advertisements for soft drinks, snacks, fast food and movies would go over a lot better with a MMO clientel, don't you think?

I never bought one of those Tony Hawk edition doodads and I didn't buy any of Derek Jeter's shoes, but hey, I can't say I didn't know about them. Put in a Pepsi or Red Bull sign. Pop in a Movie poster and you'll see some actual sales with this game's advertising to thank.

I liked the ads and I'd like to see more of them.
Or at least I'd like to know whether there will ever be more.

And did anyone ever notice that AD is misspelled (in the phone number) on this sign?

Why are you even considering desolving the SG and your Base? Are those other guys in your SG actually friends or not? Are they pissing you off that much by existing that you seriously want to spite them by leaving them out in the cold?

Why do you believe that there isn't going to be the possibility that they'll welcome you back later and re-promote you? Do you really want to be guaranteed homeless when you return along with a bad reputation?

I agree. Just leave the SG as is and let one of your friends take over base editing responsibilities while you're gone. I mean these are your friends, right? Do you really want to leave them without the amenities your base offers? You just said that having a glorified apartment was something you need in this game. You don't think maybe your friends need that too?

I just don't think the engine is so silly that it wouldn't dynamically determine animations based on height/model. It's not like it's referencing a separate library for every character or something.

It's not the skeletons that matter, it's the invisible box the skeleton is in. The size of your avatar box is determined by the model (female, male, huge) and your height. Once this is determined it never changes.

This also determines what sounds you use (jumping grunts, thumping footsteps) and what badges you receive (male or female).

The Halloween temp costumes just project a NPC skeleton in your avatar box. The box itself never changes.

This is why my very short characters can still go under pipes in sewers even though the NPC costume they are wearing is too tall. This is why my female characters can still squeeze through those slim areas between pipes even when they are wearing a Freak Tank costume.

Edit: That said, I remember hearing something about Positron being very excited about the possibility of changing models to go with the new costume change emotes that are coming in i15, or was it in the Science Booster?

Maybe we all don't play and pay subscriptions for 10 games at once? Maybe we just chose to play this one and that's it? Maybe we don't play console games? Maybe we don't have a PSP, PS3, XBox, etc.? Maybe we won't be buying and subscribing to every single new game that comes out the moment they come out? Could that be a possibility?

Yeah, we pay bills too, pal. The difference between us and you is we choose to play one or two games so that the subscription rates are within our budget. We don't have to have subscriptions to every single thing that is put on the shelf.

Sometimes you've got to make choices. This game has been out for 5 years and the subscription rate is within reason. If you think it's too high, you don't have to pay it. But if they just suddenly lowered it globally that would create a huge drop in the income for the company which would cause Paragon Studios to reduce staff instead of increasing it which would cause increased time between issues and fewer booster packs, expansions, etc., etc..

I'm good with the subscription rate as it is and I'm nowhere near rich. Thank you. And as for what I'm going to do when Champions comes out, likely I won't even bother with it. It just doesn't seem to be that great, IMO. I'll stick to the first Super Hero MMO and be happy.

Dark Melee is a basic melee set. Sure clouds of darkness are forming around your fists as you're beating your enemies down, but you are beating them down with your fists, not a weapon.

Promote all of your characters to Leader, set all of your friends to one rank below that. Set permissions on all the storage items, etc, so that your friends can still access them. This way the only characters eligible for auto-promotion are yours.

In addition, make sure your friends have permission to pay Base Rent. Having a base is kind of useless when you are locked outside.

Just broadcast that you are looking for help inviting alts to your solo SG. Someone will usually offer to help within minutes. It's nice to throw in a tip, but not required.

I did this just recently. I created a number of characters on every server and then invited them to my multi-server character's SG on every server with help from random players on each server. I just asked nicely for help and I got it. And this was on villainside.

The community in this game is the best of any game I've played. There is always someone willing to help those in need. You gotta love that.

And since we have a good community there really is no immediate need for an offline SG invite/promote/demote capability, which is why it's something that will always be on the "back burner". This is after all a MMOrpg. That's not to say you can't form a solo SG, but you can enlist community help with creating it.

Those are the emote quick keys.

Hitting ' brings up the emote quick menu, then you can select from the available categories with a single letter (like O for Other) and then select an emote on that list with another single letter. This allows the quick use of emotes once you get used to the keys.

'ob = Other > Bow
'of = Other > Fancy Bow
'bh = Boombox > Heavy Dude
'ca = Combat > ATTACK!
'ev = Emotions > Victory
'ew = Emotions > Winner

I use the emote quick keys quite often myself.

Also, check out List of Global Chat Channels. Using these channels can really help you find teams for the specific server and type of teaming you want.

I don't know how he could have accidentally respecified instead of creating a second build. The two options are not even possible at the same contacts.

And if he had a primary build before, what happened to all of his enhancements? You would think they would have gone somewhere. After all, you can't use the same enhancements on both builds.

I'd /bug it. It doesn't sound like you could have made a mistake here. Your primary build should still be intact.

That doesn't seem right either. Both Delilah and G are levels 20-24. So if you outlevel Doc Delilah, then you would outlevel Agent G as well. Or is Agent G one of those contacts who will give you his arc right at 25 even though he is 20-24?

I believe so, yes. I may be mistaken now that I think about it though. It's been a little bit since I did those arcs, and I never specifically outleveled Doc before to test this. But I do recall once going to Doc and not being able to get her arc and getting G's arc instead. Now I am going to have to go and test this out to make sure.

If you have the GvE edition you have the Pocket D VIP teleport. This drops you right in the Tiki Room in Pocket D. The tailor is just up the ramp (a rickety wooden bridge-like ramp) from the main entrance there.

This is the easiest tailor to get to for low level characters.

As far as some of my heroes go, the Zig's teleporter reacts too late to save some of the villains they take down. Some of my guys are themed as vigilantes and do not necessarily work within the law.

Remember, according to in game story the MedCom Teleporters do not rez. They simply teleport you the moment before you would have died and heal the wounds that would have caused your death. My vigilantes know this and so they use methods (a jamming device, a warding spell, etc.) to stop the MedCom from teleporting the villains in time to save them.

Edit: As far as the idea goes, I think it would be kool to add more of this kind of Role Playing interactivity. Good idea.

But add in an option for heroes to tell the system that they are killing these villains, so maybe they can end up in the court room as the defendant instead.

yepper, them's it. I only mentioned Doc because she introduces Agent G and so is technically first (as far as I know) even if they are for the same level range. I've never gotten the portal from the G man. It has always been her or a friendly portal trip to grab the badge.

I'm guessing very few (if any) have received the portal from G. After all, you don't get introduced to him until after you have completed Doc Delilah's arc. So by the time you get to Agent G, you already have the O-Portal.

You might even be able to skip Doc entirely if you started Jim but leveled up a lot before you returned.
