Quote:Agreed. Whatever my point of view on the Praetoria situation, this sniping back and forth is ruining the thread. I have missed half the posts on this thread due to the ignore function.

I wish everyone was able keep from cluttering threads that appreciates all aspects of the stories and character opportunities in the game like this was some sort of PvP arena.

The devs wrote some nice stories. In some ways, much Redside should have been more like this. Take the Burke/Kalinda debacle. At the end of Mercy Island, there really was no choice to either contact. They all the same. It would have been nice to have that schism that exists in Praetoria.
Is Cole a good guy? No. But as historians have learned, and I was reminded from a friend, a good Ruler is not a good man. A good Ruler need make decisions that a good man would not. -
Quote:I liked the story behind that. For the longest time they thought nothing could live in the stomach. A doctor proved them wrong. When no one believed him, he swallowed the culture of the bacterium he had found. Heh.I have a friend who had an ulcer last year. He was treated with antibiotics, no surgery required. I don't believe his ulcer was bleeding, but what Lothic said is indeed true, many *stomach* ulcers are caused by a bacterial infection, specifically Helicobacter pylori.

Regardless of the cause or treatment you may receive, my thoughts and well wishes are with you. -
Quote:Relaunches are good, as are adding new characters. I approve.they're not exactly rebooting things over and over. one would assume a reboot would be something like the Ultimate titles, or the 1st Crisis for DC. this is really more of a relaunch of an old title with a new team. (so me saying the last H4H reboot was a misnomer, it was a relaunch as well) the problem isn't with rebooting characters, it's in trying to do new things that are just gorram horrible, and worse is the knowledge that if something doesnt work out that it's essentially going to return to the previous status quo. there are few changes i can think off the top of my head that have lasted more than a few years lately.
(of course, atm, i say this knowing im looking forward to the upcoming Superman:Earth One GN) -
Quote:Lets hope it is an ulcer. They are relatively easy to treat. I worked with a guy that had an ulcer in his intestinal tract. The surgery was not fun and neither was the recovery.Anyone have experience with this?
I ask because I may have one. My hematocrit level (the amount of red blood cells you have in your system) dropped to 21, which is in the danger zone. My doctor told me that at 18 people are generally flat on their back unconscious... or worse. So I was lucky they caught it through happenstance. I spent Friday night at the hospital getting a transfusion and I feel 100% better, but if I'm bleeding internally as they suspect, I'm not sure how long this will last.
The two potential causes are a bleeding ulcer or leukemia, which are super fun choices. They're pretty sure it's not leukemia, for which I am immensely thankful, but I need to return to the hospital tomorrow for multiple tests and to get scoped inside and out, top to bottom. (I think you know what I'm trying to say.)
Just wondering if anyone has info or advice.
(I did a self-examination and I'm pretty sure my lack of blood is not caused by vampires. However, if I start posting only at night, you'll know something's up.) -
Quote:People were going to exploit MA. Prior to it going live, I flat out said that it would be used for primarily power leveling and farming, and the majority of the missions would be trash. I was told by several posters, "I have better faith in humaity than that, you can't know what's going to happen." and "Some of the best games out there thrive on player generated content. Look at the mods made for Neverwinter Nights." Others were mentioned of course. I do not want to sound like a hypocrite, but the MA was a bad idea from the start. Sure, I made a mission, and I am working on my other two slots. I am also a very story driven person and am working on actually making a story. These words do not mean what you think they mean. If we juggle things around a bit, you'll have part of it right. People did 'exploit' MA missions and so they had to be adjusted.
Some exploiting involves farming, some does not.
Farming can be exploitative; or not.
Here is an irony for everyone. Co* was not the first MMO to make character created content. Ous may be bette, but we did not make it 1st. -
While I am no big fan of some of the caves, I have hated the layer room since I first set foot in it. I am getting better at it, but I still curse when ever I realize it will be the end section of a very long map that was not a kill all.
In some places in Oranbega I feel the need to widen the corridors are spread out the spawns. Those corridors where there are 3 spawns are annoying as hell for a melee character. -
Quote:I have faced giant ambushes solo with -1/+0. I mentioned some thing about some problems with some AE missions killing me with spawns of 20 or so ambushes, and I know the last time I was in Preatoria, it was bad at some points. Sadly Sam, I never take screen shots.Show of hands: how many people who face gigantic ambushes are set to +0x0? I'm asking, because this is something the game defaults you when the character has not had his or her difficulty altered since creation or the introduction of the new difficulty setting.
It SHOULD act like +0x1, but maybe it isn't and is instead getting occasionally tagged as something else? As a general rule of thumb, I always try to set my difficulty manually, even if I'm just reaffirming what a character is created with, just to avoid doing this. I'd suggest people who face absurd ambushes try that and see if anything changes. -
Oh I agree Veritech, but they keep rebooting everything one at a time, and as much as I hate it, I would rather them get it over and done with and make it more fluid and organized. Joephisto is hung up on his past. Most of us have moved on, and as a man with a 16 year old god child, I can tell you my god child loathes what Marvel has become. He liked the married Peter Parker. He liked the characters and how they grew.

Quote:And the hair style as well.He seems to be more upset that it was in 3D. They do have 2D showings he could of gone to.
That said, yes, just as well to see it in 2D.
He also gets the last bit wrong, though I could understand why, I didn't recognize the actress (its the same one) from #2. I'll blame it on the hair color though. -
Quote:Ah the big red ball thread. I posted in that back in the day.The big red ball wouldn't work because physics items like a free floating ball aren't shared over the net. This could possibly be coded without doing the shared physics engine part of things.
For example:
You have the soccer ball animation playing & a "pass" temp power appears in try, you target someone and hit "pass." That person gets a timed prompt, and if he accepts, the game does an attack animation that appears as a "pass" to the recipient, then the recipient starts the soccer-ball-playing animations.
You probably couldn't make it a fully-fledged soccer game, but you could have some simple guessing mechanics to make it fun for those waiting moments. Give the passer a 3 pass animations "" and make the receiver pick one. If he picks the same one, he gets "whacked" by a ball that bounces out of view... the sender gets a point. If he picks the others, he successfully catches it and can "pass" it to another (or return it). You have a simple "killball" game for a small team to play while waiting for people to assemble for raids, based on basic "shell game" mechanics and non-physics animations -
I think Marvel needs to bite the bullet and restart everything. Joephisto is already doing it. Make it official and stop pissing of fans.

While I enjoyed the movie, I have to admit the 3d was lackluster. I was not surprised there though. I noticed Milla was moving rather slowly, though I blame a recent child for that.
Overall, a good movie that will be great for the collection.
Unlike my god daughter I did not laugh when the plane left the smear of blood. Instead I thought, "How can a plane continue flying after hitting that many people?"
I did notice that the Redfields seemed to be the focus of the film. Odd that. -
This movie has been on many radars. Last I heard it was to be set in post-apocalyptic Mexico, and they lions were to be Aztec in origin.
Until I see a trailer, I am not buying anything. No offense to the OP, this is not their fault.
Unless you are secretly a producer, then... How dare you taunt failthful fans/geeks and their dreams!!
Seriously though, a Voltron movie will be difficult. We may have to stomach some bile with our dessert for the movie to happpen. -
During one of the GR videos, they showed a toon leaping with a new animation. It looked like a varient animation, one that gave that trace effect. If they are working on it, it seems to have been left out of GR. Only those that were in closed beta for GR could say anything about that... I think.

OP.... How could you do all that?
I mean, where is the time for a nice meal with your family, or hanky panky with your significant other. My fiance plays with me, and loves playing as much as I do, but we still find time to make whoopy. -
He is Wakandan actually, and he apparently is living outside his kingdom for some reason.
My point of view? What is Joephisto smoking, and they should make it highly illegal what ever it is. The man has to be on serious drugs to allow this. -
Or a way to get rid of the random tables for mutations and technology. That's how I would use it.

Quote:Actually that's interesting. Reminds me of the original printings of Deadlands and it's sequel. You used playing cards though out the game. As well as poker chips. I never looked at the D20 version, but I could not fathom how they made those rules into a GURPS version.Ignoring the 4th ed/3rd ed/etc debates, I was excited about Gamma World.
Then I read this article. Everything's done with cards? That you have to buy ******* booster packs for? What. The. ****. -
Quote:Well according to the writer, becoming Frankencastle was essentially Frank's "punishment" for biting off more then he could chew by taking on super powered criminals and not sticking with the street level criminals. I doubt it was ever intended to stick but it sure did a great job of killing the book and tarnishing the character far worse then when he was an agent of heaven, sometimes referred to as Zombisher or the Spawnisher by fans.
So, let's see now...Frank has been an angel, and most recently an undead-Frankenstein imitation. Now he just needs to become a werewolf for awhile and then later get bit by a vampire and lose just enough blood to become a half-vampire like Blade for awhile.
Also for those that wonder how old Frank should be now in mainstream MU books since he is a Vietnam vet and been around for some time, the writer of Frankencastle has stated that the bloodstone will restore his body to full health and make him a 30 year old again. While in the Max Punisher its been stated that Frank has been in action for over 30 years and the Max books do not have the sliding timeline that the mainstream Marvel books have, thus Max Punisher should be in his mid 50's, possibly pushing 60.
So this is Frank's deal with Mephisto that will deage him and give a whole new supporting cast and bring back much beloved villains for continuity?
*Not bitter at all. Nope* -
Quote:THey still do in EQ2. Guides come around with scripted quests, some of them playing a monster to play hide and seek, and give you stuff. Recipes, house items, just fun stuff.Everquest used to do this kinda thing pretty frequently.
Many of the zones had toggles a GM could trip to trigger zone-wide events, like the sky turning blood red and all the normal zone creatures changing to zombies & skeletons. GMs could also spawn most monsters and take control of them to rampage around.

I won't argue that, but what I read on the Punisher wiki page was crazy.
Either man him up with some high tech gizmos or keep him away from the heroes and villains of the 616 U. Turning him into Frankenstein's Monster, (Or Mobius's Monster as the case may be) is insane. -
Is this an effin joke? What in the name of Cthulhu is Joephisto smoking? He lets this by, but writes OMIT and allows BND to continue?
UGH!!! -
On a related note, I just found this.

Looks like it is set up for 1st or 2nd edition Gamma World.
