  1. As much as I really do not care for redside, I love mayhem missions. In games I just have a blast letting loose my inner vandal and destroying large tracts of land.

One of the many reasons I loved Auto Assault.

Perhaps they are called Longbow as a description of their mission statement. They are the archers for the Freedom Phalanx. They act as long distance attackers while others act as the "knights" and foot soldiers.

Pshh. Grant me a moment of glory here. I have yet to scoop anyone :P

The magazine article itself was in the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly section, Swellguy. They mentioned Cryptic had trademarked CoH2 while discussing the lack of console port for STO and CO.

I sent them an e-mail mentioning this error.
  6. Scooped! By me no less. I mentioned this in the other CoH2 thread actually.
  7. I did, and I have to admit I can see where it is in doubt lol.

I think I will stick with my normal thought about these sort of things, and say they are none of my business, much less the general publics. What ever happens in their personal lives is their business as long as it is not illegal.

But back on topic, using the EQ analogy is not entirely accurate. With EQ1 and EQ2 there is a massively different game play as well as a huge catclysm that affects the world. I can't see Co* using that same route.

I will admit, the Circus/carnival smell is rather aromatic.

I would not be surprised to see that Fulmens. The Palin's met through mutual infidelity.
  10. I was reading the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly section in this months Game Informer. They mentioned the console, or lack there of, versions for Cryptic's games. They then go on to say Cryptic has trademarked City of Heroes 2.

I had to write them and point out their error lol.

  12. Scrappers. I just love diving into the middle of mobs and causing havok.
  13. Over all I agree with Sam and the others. While I am not a true villain style player, I know that the characters redside need more respect in the end. It's nice to say that Recluse has the back's of people like Daos and Brass, but many of the other contacts are not so lucky. As we get higher in level, we should be treated with more respect or fear.

It would be like a contact constantly calling you true green behind the ears to help them, or to act like Dan Turpin from the Superman AS and treat you as a tresspassing vigilante that the world would be better without. Alot of blueside players would not be happy being treated that way even after they out level the content.

The way I view the redside, is that the paper mission guys are fixers. I am new in town and they are helping me find work by introducing me to their friends. The disconnect starts when their friends start treating me like garbage evenb though I have already proved myself so far. I mean I am fine with things starting out insulting, but I want to see in text I have earned their confidence. By the time I hit Grandville, they should know my name, and know I am not to be trifled with.

I started doing the I17 content with my main hero. I like it. I get to be a snarky hero doing what heroes doing best. I am reminded of Spider-Man. If the villain side is the same as I am believeing due to whats being said, they need more content like that.

As far as villainy, not everyone wants to take over the world. I have had several toons that would be happy to overthrow Arachnos and leaving nothing in place. They don't want the desk job waiting for the knife in the back, and running the world is to much like work. Some toons are simply looking for a good time and looking to steal what ever is not nailed down. They do not want to hurt others, but will defend themselves.

As for Phipps and Ugua. I would love to be able to take them both down. As a villain. Both are intolerable.

Way to man up to your mistake Positron. It takes a lot of courage to go out in front of a fanbase as rabid and opinionated as we can be, and admit in no uncertain terms that you feel you did them wrong.

    My hat's off to you.

I agree. Thanks Posi, it makes my respect for the dev team of this game grow.
  15. Saga of Ryzom tried this a year ago, maybe 2. I forget. But a MMO has tried this.
  16. While I agree with the Big Red Ball...

    OMG what a necro post.

I think I see worms in it.
  17. I wondered who necroed this post. Sheesh.
  18. ((Ack! I hate getting into a series during a cliff hanger.

Great work Te! Read the Henchman as well.

  19. There there. *Pats on the shoulders*

Let me get you a cup of coffee and a piece of pie and lets see if we can make it all better.
  20. They only like blueberry pie.

    *mm blueberry.... my favorite.*

I hate apple and cherry pie.

Add rare recipe rewards to Siren's Call and Recluse's Victory minigames. (#1 with a bullet, not enough ingame reward for PVP in this game)
Siren's Call style bounty system throughout the zones (with rare recipe reward)
Arena map selection feature, including a "Random" selection
Add villain/hero totals to zone /whoall display and include people on /hide in the totals, so players can get a general idea of activity level regardless of /hide

    [/ QUOTE ]

Bad idea. You already have enough problems with Pve players/Badgers fighting with PvPers, and not in the way the PvPers want them to fight. No rewards of this type should be in PvP.
  22. Lets see, it could be a change in contacts. it could be a change in the tutorial missions. it could be a new alternate time zone such as the Recluses Victory.

No need to cry doom or that the game will no longer make updates.
  23. I am a console gamer by preference I admit.

As for not liking forced grouping and liking co-op play, those two statements are not mutually exclusive. I have more of an issue with grouping in Co* due to outleveling content. I have an issue with grouping in DDO because you needed 6 people to complete a dungeon, and that if life took over, you got no XP for leaving the mission early. I always wanted to group in fantasy games until player only wanted to grind, not experience content.

You can want co-op play, and not want forced grouping. Shall we burn your scarecrow now?
  24. I play board games that are pvp all the time. I love MtG CCG. It's not that I am against pvp. I love chess, checkers, Cosmic Encounter, Car Wars.

As for it bringing out the worst in players... "Oh all attacks go against <insert player>. Those are the rules." These are crappy statements I heard from friends. Or how about the game spoons where fisticuffs were "OK".

As for sports movies, give me a break. I have watched most of the movies you mentioned, and found them LACKING!! American sports are awful, and I am American. They are long, boring events. Besides, those are MOVIES!!! People do not act like that in real life. The fact that you point to them as validation worries me more than you can ever know.

Movies.. sheesh. What has the world learned from Neverending Story, Hook? What has America learned from Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th? I love movies as much as the next guy, but I never compare them to real life.
