  1. Well, I definitely consider Mace Mastery an inferior choice for Time Corruptors, due to the insane synergy between Power Boost/Build Up and Farsight. Additionally, a lot of your slotting is just strange, stopping 1 slot short of the recharge bonus for no discernable reason.

Here's my build, which meets all your requirements and more.
Perma Boosted Farsight, Perma Chronoshift, Perma Hasten, all without a Recharge Alpha. 45% S/L/E/N/M/R/A, layered with 53% S/L Resists.
(Don't mind the strange enhancement levels, my OCD demands I make the build reach exactly 45.00 defenses)

  2. Quote:
If I were you, I'd swap one or both of the Brute's pieces Fury with endredux to Arc of Destruction, because it's a very expensive attack.
Good catch, I'll fix that. I had the Dam/End/Rech piece planned in Arc, but Mid's erroneously has that as Acc/End/Rech so I shifted stuff around temporarily to make sure I had the necessary damage enhancement values and forgot to switch them back.

    Quote:
A Kismet proc would be nice, maybe in Indomitable Will, but if you've got all your level shifts already, you won't ever really need it.
Yea, fully shifted so Kismet doesn't seem necessary. It does remind me of the Regenerative Tissue: +Regeneration unique though, should I try to fit that in somewhere?
  3. This is what I've got planned for my final respec for my brute, looking for any ideas, tweaking, or anything wrong with it. Its got capped S/L/E with the lowest Barrier values, but the recharge isn't so great. I don't mind too much though. Also, what do people think of the new Resurgence? Worth having?

  4. As I understand it, Destiny powers benefit from non Recharge Alpha powers, so does that mean if you have a Defense Alpha (Agility or Nerve) then the 5% Defense part of Barrier is increased to 6%?

Would just like a confirmation that this is how it works, thanks!
  5. Been playing my Cold/Ice Defender a lot lately and while I'm having fun I'm looking to tweak out his build a bit more. I've been running around with ranged defense cap but no epic armour power and finding I still go squish pretty easily. So thats something I'm thinking about fixing with the proposed build here.

He actually runs Agility Radial Paragon (so perfect for Cold btw), so Recharge and End Mod is better than it appears here, Nerve just made it easier to track the defense numbers since the new Incarnate powers have yet to be implemented in Mids'.

    Some things...

1.) Not sure which epic armour to go for. After looking through IDF and Warworks profiles it does appear Charged Armor
is the clear winner with all those Energy attacks. However, I already have a bit of Energy resistance, so perhaps softening up the Seer Psi damage with Mind Over Body is a better idea? Dark Embrace's higher total numbers is attractive, but the coverage is for such rare typings...

2.) Visuals for epic armours. I'm hoping none of them are too visually obtrusive (I'd honestly take Frozen Armor if I could, since its nice thematically), and can only assume they're identical to the melee armour sets in that department.

3.) Outlier powers: Frost Breath, Afterburner, Assault
I've always taken Frost Breath, but use it increasingly rarely at the end game. It still has its moments, primarily when soloing or exemplared, but it does feel underwhelming at times.
Afterburner makes flying a lot more fun, but I'm sometimes finding having to turn it on and off annoying due to the Affect Self only clause.
Assault is Assault, I'd like to fit it in but its a bit difficult to give up more 'fun' powers.
I can take 2/3 of these, or if I take the effort to get Villain Patron Power Pools (and mar my hero's stainless background forever!) I can take Charged Armour and shunt off the slots from Mass Hypnosis to Boxing for the mule set and take all 3. Thoughts?

...and yes I want to keep those Centrioles in Bitter Ice Blast. >.>
  6. Since I can't find this information anywhere (it all seems to have been tactical nuke purged), what values does the Defender set actually enhance, and what're the values like?
  7. Been tinkering with Mids' a lot in anticipation of issue 19, and this is what I've ended up with for my Cold Defender once Fitness is free.

It uses a little patch to make Fitness inherent, so it won't look quite right in an unpatched Mids'. I don't think it affects too much though, except for maybe the Endurance recovery numbers being off.

Intended to stay out of range with Hover most of the time.
The endurance consumption is pretty high, but downtime between Heat Losses should only be around 12-15 seconds or so.

    -Soft Capped Ranged Defense
    -49% global accuracy, plus Tactics
-87.5% global recharge, not quite perma Hasten

Has issues exemplaring down I imagine, but I think I'm okay with that. Like to hear any input or tweaking suggestions.

  8. So now that Patron Power Pools are available to heroes lots of Heroes are oggling them for their builds, especially the nifty Scorpion Shield.

But not having had a high level villain I have no idea what these powers actually look like. Specifically I'm wondering whether the Mace Mastery powers actually whip out the mace itself. Obviously that can be pretty concept breaking so it'd be nice to know.

I imagine its safe to assume that Web Envelop, Mace Beam Volley, and Web Cocoon all use the mace. Focused Accuracy probably doesn't.
But what about Scorpion Shield and Summon Blaster/Spiderlings/Tarantula?

Actually Ice Blast is bugged on live. The sets it accepts has been swapped with Sleet from the new Dominator Ice Mastery. Mid's was correct all along. I've been trying to get this bug noticed since I had just made a set of enhancements for my own Ice Blast but now I can't put them in.
  10. I posted this in the bug forums but apparently nobody cares there, so here it is.

Not sure if anyone has noticed this but Ice Blast from the Controller Epic Power Pool and Sleet from the new Dominator Epic Power Pool appear to have swapped which invention sets they accept.
Should I just /bug this in game to get it noticed and fixed?
    Its pretty annoying.

Once you did this, you might then switch both your Lockdowns to 4 Basilisks, for the recharge, and whatever else was needed to shore up the power (like acc in Glacier, damage in BoI, since it will be basically half your single-target attack chain).

(Another possibility would be to focus instead on even more Ranged/AoE defense, since that's where a lot of mezzing that gets you comes from. This would require a lot more rejiggering the build, and probably losing or weakening a favorite power. A better pet set for this approach would be Blood Mandate for Jack, which would cost you +recharge.)
I'm not too familiar with the market but if I recall correctly Kinetic Combat is a bit too costly for me to afford at the moment, but thats interesting to consider.

    Smaller changes:
I would probably swap Frost Breath for Ice Storm, since the breath is so narrow (and equally costly per use, much more so over time) and the storm lays down so nice on every other application of Sleet.
I've actually been having trouble deciding on which one to take. Ice Storm seems more effective, but the recharge on it is a tad absurd. Is it really worth the 2 minute recharge?

I would probably steal a slot--for whatever needs--from Arctic Fog (an LotG) and get some accuracy in Sleet. The only thing this is really important for is the first procking of the Achilles and Lady Gray, and truth be told, the -res in Sleet is only more useful than a straight up damage proc--barring specific resistances--when it strikes an Lt or Boss. (The amount of damage to kill a minion with the -res is equal to the amount of damage to kill a minion with the standard proc damage of said level, and the damage proc is "burstier".) The Shield Breaker proc is expensive and rare (though it seems a bunch of people saved this up to sell after the market merger, so I saw some for sale recently), but could be used maybe to squeeze out another set bonus or two; the Posi proc would be the "cheap" option.
The current setup affords me very nearly a SO worth of global accuracy bonus so hopefully thats passable. Although the procs have never really been a huge thing for me with Sleet, as it is plenty awesome alone, I hadn't thought of how not slotting for accuracy would hurt the procs. Something to think about for me, but its not really the sort of thing that is obviously noticable.

One last thing: with Heat Loss does this toon need the Numina's? I would save that IO for a slightly endurance-needier toon, unless you have health uniques coming out your ears (probably not with no fifties).
Good point. I'll probably leave that out for now, better places to spend my limited influence.

Yea, I don't think this would be particularly worthwhile, but its a nice idea.

    Thanks for all the input!

    Ice/Cold

As my first character nears level 50 the recent free respec gave me some incentive to fix my build, but I'm not entirely sure what I should be doing here.

    Any input would be appreciated.

  14. Going to echo the above, I already have the window unlocked from chat and it still continues to reset everytime.
  15. I don't know if I'm just missing something really obvious, cause this is incredibly obnoxious. Really the primary issue is how the x is directly under the Claim button in the email window, very rapidly becoming a hassle to have to manually change the window size every time I want to close it. Then it just snaps back to the same place afterwards. The Save Windows Setting File or whatever from Options hasn't helped at all.
    Any advice?

    Slotting Sleet?

I'm about to pick up Sleet next level on my Ice-Cold controller, but I'm not sure how to slot it. Apparently the power accepts Accuracy enhancements, but I don't see most people slotting it for Accuracy. In my experience so far, and I'm just starting out, slotting a lot of Accuracy for every power that can use it is pretty important. But I was under the impression that Sleet was basically a 'super Ice Slick', but I don't actually know how it all works. What really differentiates these two powers anyway?
