I currently have 4 50s. Had a PB at 50 and deleted him without much fanfare. Cuz.. well, PBs suck. I also deleted my main brute at 50 because EM/FA sucks. He's now a level 50 DM/WP brute. Don't much care for the lack of AoE. Might delete him again someday.

I've been asking for oversized talons as a claw weapon option for ages. Every time I brought it up I was told that the problem was how the hand closes to a fist when you go into the combat stance. Why a piece couldn't be created that was big enough (see Freakshow perma-mounted weapons) I do not know. I bet it COULD be done. I've long since given up on it ever BEING done.

Otherwise, the Nuetrals win. -
Quote:Does anybody else thinks it's absurd that players trying to reach the "old" 70% recharge reduction of perma-hasten are willing to max their set enhancements and end up with about 250% recharge reduction?
Back then I could understand the desire for perma-hasten, more than two SOs worth of recharge in every power so you could skip recharge on powers and go four or five slots on damage. But now, with ED and all it seems, well insane to me to devote so much effort to get that extra 175% recharge simply to get 70% more.
To me it's like trying to relive the days you had a cool tree fort so you first go out and buy a house that has a really big tree so you have a place to rebuild it.I hear ya, FX. Bill Z has 102.5% global recharge. No hasten in the build and I'm ok with that for now.
However, in order to get my attack chain down to followup, slash, focus, repeat and pauseless, I need 313% recharge in followup. 96% in fu, 102.5 global, 70 from hasten, 20 from quickness.... 288.5% ... must.. have... more.
Can't do it now, so I don't bother with hasten and run fu, slash, focus, strike, repeat. -
Quote:So much incorrect spew... where to start: I read your post. It was full of silliness much like the one I'm responding to now. A "well played tanker" keeps the squishies on his team safe, directs aggro to himself because it's his job to do so and keeps the team moving at a pace that is enjoyable for everyone.I'am not going to argue with a person which dosnt even realy read my posts. Never did I say a brute should act like a taunt bot and neither did I ignore the damage bonus the brute gets, I only said their approach is very similiar. But if your idea of a "well played tanker" is being a useless taunt bot with granite then yes, thats not how a brute should be played.
Ah ok, so every other AT has to function in both their roles and otherwise they will be kicked but your brute can neglect his secondary, ignore aggro management completely and play like some kind of stalker... nice one... and then you even dare to tell me I'am the one which dosnt know how to play his AT... ignorance at its finest
A well played brute's job is to dish out damage and survive doing so. Any brute that ignores his secondary won't survive long enough to kill anything. Therefore, like EVERY OTHER player out there that ignores his secondary (yes, even tanks) will also get kicked from any team I'm running.
I stated that having a brute perform as a taunt bot is stupid. This is a fact because then the brute won't be doing his job of damage dealing. EDIT: yes, any dom that throws down an aoe immobilize and then cries to momma when he takes a crapload of return fire and faceplants Is Doing It Wrong. -
For crying out loud, what's the problem with proliferating all of the melee powersets to all the melee archetypes when the devs have already completely tossed out all the old concepts with the new powersets they've added?
"Scrappers are skill based." That's why all 4 melee ATs got dual blades.
"Tanks and brutes are the elemental based sets." That's why scrappers and stalkers also get dark melee, stalkers got energy melee and scrappes got fiery melee.
Old argument is old. Old rationales against the port are old and refuted. -
Quote:Oh, so you don't know how to play your dom. Got it.Problem with this is enemies have ranged attacks... or they are missed... or they arent effected instantly because they are bosses etc.
I had this more often then enough: I throw an AoE immobilze into the enemies and a few seconds later I'am dead because the brute isnt using taunt, aura or even aoe because he prefers to punch something with his single target attacks cause he "isnt a tanker". -
Quote:Why team? Because leveling is vastly faster while teamed. This is no way refutes my statement that all redside ATs are damage dealers and that any team that *needs* aggro control is a team full of imbeciles. As I've said before, this game is NOT rocket surgery and this game in no way requires the age old and lame tank/healer/mage idiocy so prevalent on other MMOs.Then why team up when everybody just plays for themselves? During leveling only very few squishys are able to manage a situation where ~80% of a full eight man spawn is comming at them because the brute dosnt care about aggro and prefers to do some "dueling" with a random Lt. If I want to kite enemies in circles across half the map because nobody is holding aggro I dont need a team... I just need to log on my lvl30 Blaster and set the difficulty to x8 -.-
Quote:Honestly there is absolutely no difference between a well played tanker and a well played brute. Both should be the first ones to charge in and take the alpha, both should have no trouble holding most of the aggro simply through auras and damage dealing and both should use their taunt from time to time to save someone else *** if he is in trouble (its called TEAM PLAY... not "8 solo players in one mission" I would consider something like that common sense). The only difference between the two AT's is the brute will deal more damage but will need a heal thrown at him from time to time on the contrary to the tanker.
Quote:On a team there is something called "team play" and every AT should do his best to use his abilities in a way which makes this team play more enjoyable for everybody. Only because some AT's like brutes or corruptors are hybrids and can also deal some damage that dosnt mean they are relieved from their secondary role, no, it means they should do their best to fulfil both the roles they can cover.
Quote:Just imagine a corruptor coming into your team which dosnt heal or buff or whatever else his secondary set offers... and then he tells you "no sorry thats not my job, I'am not a defender"... or a dominator who dosnt CC because he's no controller. Everybody would tap one's forehead at someone like that, so why should the brute be treated differently? -
Quote:Cuz it ain't been ported yet. No other reasons. Takes time to decide how to port it. Time has to be managed.
Why no Super Strength Scrapper? -

Welcome back, AG. Glad you made it through healthy and happy.

It really annooys me how many people attempt to look at the redside as if it is supposed to be played in the same was as blueside was played back when there were no aggro caps and dumpster diving was the way of the game.
EVERY archetype on redside is a damage dealer. They don't need anyone to tank for anything. Even my squishiest dominator hangs out in melee beating the snot out of everything she sees. -
I've been out of the tech loop a while, but the easiest fix is to download the latest driver for your GTX 285 from Nvidia, uninstall the current version you have, allow the restart, install the latest, restart again, attempt to play.

Quote:I'll go the other route: Its removal is the bug so /bug it.Didn't realize all demonesses had to have hooves. There are other options that will make perfectly acceptable demoness costumes.
In answer to the actual question you posed, I didn't realize it had ever been there in the first place, leading me to believe that it may have been a bug and wasn't intended to be there. -
Go for broke as I'm not seeing anything jump out at me except the sound drivers being out of date. VIA chipset, so you may have the latest anyway but it certainly wouldn't hurt to go out to VIA's website and snag the latest.
Going off of newegg for your board: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131637
Looks like your audio is the VIA VT1708S
From VIA's site, http://www.via.com.tw/en/support/drivers.jsp ... damn, latest driver there is dated 21-AUG-09, even older than what you have.
You might check Nvidia's site for a newer NVIDIA nForce 750a SLI chipset driver.
I haven't bothered with it much under Win 7 myself, but defragging your drives after a patch is never a bad idea.
Lastly, you might have a loose or bad stick of RAM. Shut down, pull power, reseat all your RAM and any other cards you have installed. Pull em out, blow em out with compressed air, reseat in same slot.
Hopefully one of these steps will clear things out for you. -

Quote:What YOU consider holy means exactly nothing to anyone else. My main's name, for instance, has far more holiness and sacred standing to me than Mohammad, Jesus, Buddha and all the other various gods people worship combined.lol sacred? do you even know the meaning of that word? cause I don't think you do.
Sacred: Dedicated to or set apart for the worship of a deity.
: Made or declared holy
: Of or relating to religious objects, rites, or practices.
so ya names in video games aren't sacred even if you decide to make the Pope himself.
So like the pvp crowd and peeps on the forums the people that quit the game over a name are most likely a very vocal minority.
Holy and sacred are labels people put on things that they hold dear. It is a subjective matter. -

I joined a pug last night with my lowbie blaster. Saw two, yes TWO, warshades on the team. Guess lowering the unlock level worked.

Quote:Wow, Sam... it must really tick you off when someone runs off from the team and never dies. You know, speaking of I <3 Team, I've been playing Alien Swarm lately, on recommendation, and I've noticed something interesting. Like in L4D, in Alien Swarm you succeed on teamwork and staying together. This doesn't stop some ******** from going Rambo and running ahead of everyone else, apparently intent on soloing the entire mission. Never you mind that an officer can't do squat with a control panel when the tech is seven rooms back with the rest of the team, but hey, what do I know. I'm not elite enough to play alone on Hard.
Know what's really fun, though? These guys ALWAYS rush ahead and get killed by swarms of aliens with no medic to heal them and no support to save them. And I just laugh and laugh as they rage-quit. At least I assume they rage-quit. Every time this has happened and we ended up completing the mission without the self-important dick, he hasn't been there after the end, so he clearly quit. I like to think it was a rage-quit.
See, this is what pisses me off about people who thing the world revolves around them. There's this guy who rushes off a head, clearly incapable of doing EVERYTHING alone, and why? Does he assume we'll just naturally follow him into our deaths? You know, as opposed to letting him get himself killed if he won't stick with the team? Because that's usually the only cure for that sort of player. He's used to always having people in tow to save him, but he doesn't care to work with these people. So fine. Go ahead and die. Next time you want to live, stick with the team so we can move together. -
Quote:Don't know about the other folks, but I farm with mine to fund further performance upgrades and to load my many alts up as I wait for I-19 to drop which will supposedly be giving us content that will bring back challenged to those tweaked to the nines.Well it looks like this thread has kind of run it's course.
What about characters that have invested billions into so many IO set bonuses that even at the highest difficulty setting they are virtually impervious? And the challenge of practically any mission is all but gone? I feel sorry for those folks. -
Dunno, MH, but here's my guide:
Start CHV, log in, go back to desktop, start CHV, log in second account, play. Alt tab as necessary.
