Quote:More chaos in the Paragon universe? More pain and suffering? Heightened aggression even within factions?I'm not sure I should do this, but one could point out that with what has been going on in the world that the death of Statesman is symbolic of those events and that the leaving that "leadership" position vacant and in it's place the masses is also symbolic of world events... but i could also just be reading into things ^.^
Bring it on. -
Quote:Nope, you're not the only one. See my earlier posts. BZB does what all the signature heroes are incapable of doing or unwilling to do.I guess I'm the only one who always felt that my character was the one who would be THE hero to city/world.
I always assumed the fact that you single handedly save Statesman at least twice was proof that WE are the true heroes. The ones who truly stepped up to save the city/world when it came crashing down around the signature heroes. -
Maybe, but you'll have to work at it.
Not even once.
Quote:Cynicism is believing that the motives behind things are not what they appear and more often than not negative.
Criticism is pointing out errors.
I'll add, though, that to not be somewhat cynical is to be naive. And to glorify (not that you're doing this, but it is done around here) naivete is disgusting to me. -
Quote:Back before ED, the GDN and IOs, we had a thing called permalude. 6slot hasten, 6slot elude with recharge, you flipped out regularly and killed things. Of course, back then, NOT having permalude also meant your SR scrapper pretty much sucked.Whenever I see the defence godmodes I seriously wonder if the Devs at the time knew how defence works.
For me to take Elude they'd not only have to get rid of some of the crash but also let it give me some benefit on a softcapped build (even SO builds will often be softcapped while on teams, so their supposed Godmodestill only hurts them).
Massive recharge boost? Massive regen boost? Unenhanceable resistance boost? And they can drop the +defence to 8% or so.
SR generally lags behind on high-end survivability and a useful godmode would help a lot.
Cheers!
The period after ED and the GDN but before IOs and the critter accuracy change were added were the Bad Times. I actually respeced my claws/sr into a range only attack build because he could not survive in melee.
Once softcapping came into play (essentially the same thing as permalude,) Elude did indeed become mostly useless. Until the softcap was raised again in incarnate trials.
I even brought this up to Castle one day and his response was something along the lines of "So you don't have to take elude anymore. That's a good thing, right?"
Would I prefer all of the old godmode powers to get the lightform/one with the shield/strength of will treatment? Oh hell yes.
I'd love for the defense value in Elude to get dropped to less than 10% and have some dam-res and regen added to it. That'd be glorious. -
What side do you pick more than others?
Now that we can create anything on either side, blue side.
What play style do you prefer?
Killmaimpillagedestroy at max difficulty that I can handle.
What power set(s) do you favor?
Brutes and scrappers.
What zones do you like the most?
The one with things to kill in it that are between +1 and +4 to the character I'm on.
Do you usually play as a male or female (word of hatred) ''toon''?
50/50 There is some sexism in my character creation. Males *tend* to be melee. Females *tend* to be ranged. There are exceptions.
Views on Role Playing?
I roleplay as BZB more here on the forums than I do in game.
Servers?
Pinnacle. I may use another for retirees. -
Quote:I'm not entirely sure that there needs to be a symbol at all. Matter of fact, I don't think that there should be.Well, if it's one of those won't-stop-crying ones sitting behind you on a plane, then maybe...
Anyhow, I am asking this from an in-game perspective and a game-mechanics one as well. The whole "should they kill him?" debate has been done a dozen times and better than I would do here, but if the reason for it was to make our characters stand out more and be the real heroes, how will that be accomplished in-game? Just fighting things isn't enough to really be a symbol for the heroic side.
I ran the 5th SSA last night on +4/x8 w/bosses and got beat down multiple times. Did BAB come help out? No. Ms Liberty? Mynx? Nope. They sat in that bar while I hit the tunnels on my own.
Bunch of lazy, good for nothing drama queens. *I* got the job done. *I* put the fear of me into Wade. And I shouldn't be a symbol for anything but "dudes that like a good fight." -
Quote:Wait... what? You're telling me that eating babies isn't virtuous? Oh crud. They said Up, Bill, not Down
Your domain is the other way.
Serious answer to the OP, probably the rest of the Phalanx as a unit.
They'll all work harder to get over their own various flaws.
Or to look at it another way, Statesman was never the Pinnacle of Virtue you've described him as, and everyone in Paragon will just move on. -
SSA5 took me two hours and I faceplanted 12 times.
Rularuu at +4/x8 w/bosses is rough on an SR when you're doing a clear all. -

Stone Armor. Too many downsides.

Dey done finally got the solo incarnate stuff in beta, mang. Here's hoping they don't leave it screwed up by ending a solo minded zone with forced teaming and lousy drop rates.
(psst, there's constructive criticism.)
I like the arcs. I like the new enemies and I like the new maps. I hope I'll want to play them when they go live. -
Quote:She knows exactly how to avoid being banned while trolling half the threads on the forum. It's not impressive nor interesting but that's what ignore is for.I'm sure some folks are very irritated that Golden Girl never lashes out nastily or drips with cynicism against people who don't share her viewpoints in much the same manner as those people behave themselves.
Other people who actually pay attention may notice that she doesn't always agree with some of the things the developers do, but her criticism is generally constructive.
On topic, over the years I've defended developer decisions I've agreed with, railed against the decisions I've hated, but generally hung around because I enjoy the combat system. It's fun. It's relaxing. I've stopped giving them money when I felt my wallet should do the talking and given them money for silly things that I could have lived without. -
Offline SG invites. Positron is wrong on this topic.

No knowledge on NOD, but webroot of any variety is crap.
Here's how I keep my systems safe these days:
Router with firewall between cable modem and systems.
Microsoft Security Essentials
Monthly scans with Malwarebytes.
Windows firewall disabled.
Your mileage may vary. -
I don't know why everyone else isn't doing it. I do, however, know why I don't do it: I don't need to. I don't PvP, I rarely exemplar, I solo a lot, if I really want a PvP IO I can afford the 2 billion inf. Meh.
Edit: Or maybe I will just to test the drop rate. -
hmmm... 52.5* 1.56 = 81.9...
Wow. That's pretty sad. Get the other 3.1% from set bonuses. That's a much better idea.
Well hell... now's the time to get SR Elude turned into a dam-res buff since it's been useless for ages. And we could probably get Castle's claws damage tweak removed, too. Then claws/sr wouldn't be so... weak... again? -
What I've learned from this thread:
Create multiple free accounts.. say 9 of 'em and 1 real account with IO market access.
Build the 9 so that they have a self-rez recharging at a good clip.
Join all 10 into Ouro arcs to block the auto-logoff.
Find your way off the map through a geometry hole.
Set the one to use an non-targeted AoE to attack the 9, all clumped around the one.
They die, they rez, repeat.
Go to bed. Wake up to find many/several pvp io recipes.
Sell them.
Profit.
That about sums this whole thing up?
It seems so easy. -
So I logged in my PB last night and noticed that the old build up clone was now a better buildup clone. Cool. That makes sense.
Then I recalled that someone was posting about perma-lightform which made me go, huh?
So I started looking at numbers and here's what I found:
Take a PB, take all three shields. Don't bother slotting them for DR.
Take light form and slot it 1 dam-res/3rec-red
Take and 3slot hasten.
Get 110% recharge from IO set bonuses or alpha or whatever.
Slot reform essence 3rec-red/3heal or equivalent
Slot essence boost 3rec-red/3heal or equivalent
1slotted LF = 63% DR to all but psi
+shields = 85.5% DR to all but psi
Capped at 85%.
Can I perma lightform? 95+ 70 + 110 = 275%
Recharge 300sec duration 90sec
300/3.75 = 80 for a 10 second overlap. (You don't even need hasten if you can get 140% global recharge going...it only needs 233% or so.
So perma capped dam-res without the need of dead bodies like the warshade has to have.
What's that 275% recharge do to essence boost, the dull pain clone? Permanent. Sitting on 1500 HP (brute base HP) without any accolades.
And the self-heal? Up every 16 seconds or so healing back 1/3 of your boosted HP.
I take it that PBs can now sit in the middle of +4/x8 spawns without fighting back indefinitely as long as they click their heals from time to time?
Fantastic. The devs really don't care about balance anymore, do they? -
Oh look... I can post. 5870 w/ 11.11b drivers. Zero issues. Base 11.11s caused lockups when I went idle.

Four times today so far for me. I've already canceled my sub again for a variety of reasons but somewhere on that list is my annoyance at the flakiness of these forums and the way that they're being moderated these days.

Quote:And does he have a point? Nope, as usual, you don't.Furthermore:
Taunt auras aren't needed for SR Scrappers. They were never supposed to be aggro monkeys.
.
Inv: taunt aura
WP: taunt aura
SD: taunt aura
Scrapper secondary sets with taunt auras. Looks like some of them ARE supposed to be aggro monkeys.
EDIT: Yes, the argument can be made that those three taunt auras only exist because they benefit the powers in question.
Invincibility for the defense.
RttC for the regen.
AAO for the damage.
EDIT: Oh hell... that would have been awesome. PB as a toggle that also had scaling dam-res per enemy in range. Oh well. -

Adding gloom to a claws chain will decrease the DPS of the chain due to redraw. No way around that.
But in my posts the last few days regarding brute/scrapper damage output, I have been completely neglecting the impact of gloom on sets where it won't cause redraw.
I'm not sure that I'm up to the task of reworking all my old spreadsheets but here's what I suspect:
Claws: Brute still wins even with FU only buffing 30% on brutes versus 37.5% on scrappers. I'll at least redo the numbers this weekend on claws since I love 'em so.
Fire: Due to Fire's DoT NOT being effected by crits while it is affected by fury means that brute fire is going to win. Especially when you add gloom to the mix.
Dark: Dudes... based on the Rikti Pylon threads, scrappers win... but honestly, I don't recall if there were any cranked to the walls DM brutes with Gloom out there. Gloom is SO damn good, it might pull the brute ahead.
