Toggle, so once every 10 seconds it has the 5% chance to go off.
On average you'll get the buff once every 200 seconds.
I've got a CFBU in followup and another in focus, so I get the buff once a minute on average.
Pretty sure the general rule these days is that it's just not worth it to put in a toggle. -
Quote:How about the third option? A banter filled team that takes its time while the scrapper is off enjoying all the slaughter/banter he can handle? Then I guess it's each to their own on what they enjoy the most? A banter full team taking it at a pace that suits them (heck, I've been playing with the same collective of people for years now, I know what I, and they, enjoy). Or a fast, rushed team, because heaven fobid you spend any more time in the TF than is absolutely necessary.
It saddens me that taking things a bit slower for everyone's sake and 'boredom' are synonymous in your eyes.
@TracEnding: Yes, I didn't factor in the fact that he asked, which is fair enough. If the rest of the team didn't say "Well actually, we don't want this ghosted thanks", then i've no right to get my underwear in a twist on their behalf, I apologise.
Why do so many players feel it necessary to keep their scrappers on a leash?
EDIT: One of the primary reasons I solo so often is that I have heard one too many times "you're on a team, stay with the team."
Why should I? The squishies have a tank protecting them. The tank has squshies buffing them. Why should I sit there with the team when I could be off enjoying the game AND helping the team clear the map at the same time?
Why should I lessen my gameplay enjoyment because some twit thinks every mission should be done holding each others' hands while skipping through the mission smelling every daisy on the way?
I play scrappers because they excel at self-sufficiency and slaughter. If you don't want that on your teams, don't invite them. -

I don't think Bill Z can handle multiple AVs without aid self. But I'd like to try. Is there an arc already built for this test?

Quote:While there is that point, the tank should have reminded the scrapper about his wishes prior to encountering Romulus.Me too. I have to say OP, while I wouldn't have kicked you, why didn't you just let the guy tank Romi. That's all he asked.
Had the OP ignored the leader's wishes after a reminder, then I wouldn't be defending the scrapper. As it is, I can't blame a scrapper that's been leading the team for diving in when he's been doing so for the last four missions. -
Might want to edit that and not post his global name here. There's rules against that. But feel free to PM his global to myself and Rieze so that we won't ever have to feel the joy of his presence.

I've been griped at for doing my own thing. I don't recall ever being kicked. There are a lot of idiots with self-esteem issues on this planet. You ran into one. Had it been me, I would have gotten his global name, put him on gignore, and shrugged, knowing how pathetic some people can be.

Quote:I've already plotted in darkest night. Ya just can't gripe about that power. I'm trying to fit in dark obliteration as well for farming purposes, but that may be a secondary build concept.hmm. maybe you could also work in darkest night. it has a base 10.5% to hit debuff and about 16% with decent slotting and causes -21% dmg reduction. Seeing that you have a lot going on there already, it should stack nicely. and if you really want to do 5 AVs, you may want to get dark consumption. constant fighting and no conserve power is...

Powerforge, my brute rebuild is a dm/wp so I'll be watching this thread for build ideas as well. So far, at 38 with just basic IOs, he's brutal. Excuse the pun. I did fail to take out the AV Soul of Johnny Sonata. I couldn't bust through his regen before he ripped me up, but I held my own for a time.
This tells me that with IOs, massive recharge, and MG and SL firing off far more often than I had them, I don't expect many AVs will be a problem. I'm excited that Louis Cypher's new body is going to be vastly superior to his old em/fa body. -
Yup. Can't remember the exact location, might be menu/option/general/misc but there's an option to enable pet window.
Once you've done that, open your team window, on a team or not, and you'll see where you can click Pets and the window will pop up. -
1. What is your favorite AT?
Brute. The brute pushes me to play the way I've always enjoyed playing. Balls to the wall, non-stop, get that recovery crankin cuz you ain't got time to rest, kill, maim, pillage, kill it again cuz it just got up.
2. What is your favorite zone?
Hero side, the hazard zones. Because they're empty and I can hunt without the bother of other players. Villina side, Sharkhead. I don't know why. Love that zone.
3. Which is your favorite story arc?
Peter Themari's. I dig corrupting the youth.
4. In Paragon City, which stores do you like best?
The magic shops. The majority of my characters are magic based. I'm biased in that direction.
5. In the Rogue Isles, which Patron do you like best?
Ghost Widow. Nothing beats Gloom and Darkest Night. -
Quote:Your understanding of fury is incorrect. Fury builds with attacks. Not hits. If it was based on hits, SR and EA would be screwed. They aren't. You build fury from any attack you attempt and any attack attempted against you.
Second i see where you're coming from with tankers...they didn't take away ice armor from tankers though, that came from brutes. The reason brutes always get res instead of def/slow is because it affects the fury bar. So if you give a brute -tohit debuffs they can't build fury anymore. That leaves regen and res buffs and weaken debuffs.
Also, the decision to remove Ice Armor was ridiculous in light of all the other attacks/toggles brutes have access to that shut down enemy attacks. Mudpots and anything with knock, anything with holds, etc.
RttC's tohit debuff is base -3.75% tohit. It becomes even weaker due to the purple patch.Quote:I do agree that having the rad buffs as toggles and autos is generally what the set should consist of not relying so much on armors as debuffing your enemies so much that they can't hit or can't hit hard enough. tohit debuff's are very strong in pve WP RTTC's -tohit is stong enough that i usually don't need to use my melee resist power because anything close enough to use melee is unable to hit me anyway. -

Two gents that frequented the art forum did this for me. Graver did the pencils while JTran did the inks/colors.
I-16 is going to open up a lot of sets I couldn't stand prior. I'll make an MA scrapper thanks to the alternative animations. My claws/inv is going to get a total color overhaul on his inv. My new dm/wp brute will have everything tinted red/orange. It's gonna be groovy. -
Quote:SetIOs that give psi defense/dam-res.I've been considering making a DM/Inv or DM/WP once we can customize our power colors. But you raise a question that I've always had about Invulnerability: How would you recommend plugging the "Psi hole"?

I look forward to I-16 and the effect it will have on the markets. I'm under the impression that supply is about to outstrip demand.
srmalloy, I don't know about other folks, but come I-16, I'll have absolutely no reason to use the AE unless I want to go run someone's story arc. I'll be cranking through paper missions solo set for a team of 8 on the 4th difficulty and in doing so, will be dumping all the salvage I get on the market for 250 inf a pop. I won't need to make cash off of the market because I'll be capped out on inf from running missions.
I doubt I'm alone in this. -

Quote:Actually... the taunt on RttC is quite sucktacular. It's a 1.25 second mag 3 taunt that cycles every second.Perhaps it is a cornerstone for every tank that you roll up. That does not mean that everyone who makes a tank absolutely has to take Taunt. As long as they can find a way to maintain aggro, that should be good enough. And with Willpower, the Neener Field called Rise to the Challenge should be a perfectly suitable replacement for Taunt. So can it with the "One True Build" mentality please.
Now that being said, I think I do have Taunt worked into the builds for all my tanks (though not always right when it comes available.) I like taking it because of the Perfect Zinger Psi Damage proc.
Compared to say, Invincibility which is a 16.875 second mag 4 taunt that cycles every second.
A willpower tanker without taunt will not be holding aggro very well. -
Necrotron is correct. AE isn't the problem. Farming isn't the problem.
Players are the problem. Which is why I-16 will be a GLORIOUS HEAVEN OF SOLO FARMING! WOOOOOOOOT!
Down with the global channels! Down with the friends list!
When I need an ITF, I'll go to Cimerora and START one!
wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Let's find out if it's just ... yup... bracketcenterbracket and then bracket/centerbracket

Quote:Find a pedestrian with a name that starts with M. Click on it. They'll tell you how many hours you've played that character.Side q: how does one find out how long you've been playing a character? (I know in WoW, it's /played....)
-----
I just got my first 50 a couple weeks ago, after a bit less than two full months of pretty focussed playing. Regular story arcs and radio missions for ~95% of it.
Didn't step in AE this past weekend, either. Did radio missions and Frostfire/Midnighters to get a few alts into the mid-high teens.
(And, yeah... it was kind of depressing to think that I could play a couple hours to get an alt to 16, or I could have just jumped in one of those mega farms and had them at Stamina in one or two missions. /sigh AE is cool from a "make up custom stories" standpoint, but the PL potential seems tuned a bit high.)
/shrug
To the OP, last night I made the following statement to my server's badge channel: "I know it doesn't mean squat in the days of AE 1 to 50 in 4 hours, but my main brute reroll is now at level 38 with 48 hours played."
The reason I stated that was because I was also remembering just how long it had taken me to get my very first character to 50.
A lot has changed since then. I don't think any of it is bad. I'm soloing my old/new brute back to 50 just like I did the first time around. Once he's done and tweaked up as hard as my main hero is, I'll start using the AE to powerleveling all my lowbies to 22.
And then I'll turn around and give them a billion inf each because my mains will be filthy stinking rich from soloing paper missions at 50 on the 4th difficulty set for a team of 8. -

The Guinness gets better the closer one gets to Dublin.
This is what I know to be true.
Take it as ye will. -
I'm 99% sure that Castle could make any power crit that he wants to. The question is only whether he will want to.
Were it up to me (and this is a great reason why it isn't) any attack that a scrapper uses, including damage auras in the secondary powersets, should be able to crit.
Blocking the ability of our inherent to do its thing seems very wrong to me, especially in light of the fact that brute fury does buff damage auras. -
