Can you keep a window open for non-MM pets?

I have a ice/ice dominator with Jack Frost. Can I keep a window (ala the Pet window MM's have) open on him to monitor his health? I can't figure out a way to do it other than to constantly target him.

Thanks!

Yup. Can't remember the exact location, might be menu/option/general/misc but there's an option to enable pet window.

Once you've done that, open your team window, on a team or not, and you'll see where you can click Pets and the window will pop up.

Be well, people of CoH.

Yes, it's an option in the first tab of the options window. I believe it's called "Pet Window Enabled"

When enabled, there will be a button named "Pets" at the top of your team window, which will open/close the pets window.

You can just type:

/toggle pet

That toggles the Pet window open and closed.

Or, to make a macro, type:

/macro Pet "$$toggle pet"

Or:

Open the Options window (Hit the backslash and the letter "o" keys); select the "General" tab (the first tab); scroll to the second section marked "Window" and "Enable" the last option in that section, "Show Pet Window Option".

Then open your Team window by clicking the word "Team" on the border of your chat window (or hit the backslash and the letter "t" keys), then click the word "Pets" in the border area of the Team window".

Just to clarify, the slash command to open/toggle the pet window does not do anything unless that option to display a pet window is enabled already.

Enable it with the steps above, or use a slash command:
/optionset showpets 1

THEN you can use a slash command to open the pet window, or click the word "Pets" on the Team window as described above.

Also, the window_name is PET, not pets, so the associated commands would be:
/toggle pet
/show pet
/window_show pet
/window_hide pet

Logically, yes.. but from a technical standpoint, the option doesn't just hide the window, but actually disables that part of the interface. The window commands only open and close windows. You can't open or display a part of the interface that's disabled.

Personally, I don't know why we even need the option to begin with. There is nothing wrong with leaving the word "Pets" there permanently... I guess.

If anything, substitute that option with an e-mail option to make some people happy that want to disable that part of the interface instead. lol

*note* From a technical standpoint again, it sounds like it'd be easy to exchange pets for email, but.. That wouldn't stop the e-mail feature from functioning altogether, and you'd still receive messages and get the "You have # emails" notifications, even though you can't see the actual window. Unless extra work was put into programming the option to take the extra necessary steps to completely disable the feature, those people would still have something to complain about... and even then, the option would no longer be appropriate for the "Window" section either. lol

A minor item but, yes, I agree. I was always ever-so-slightly puzzled that there was an option to disable/enable the pet window at all. It seems rather pointless to me.

Now, e-mail ... there's another story altogether.

Q. Just wondering Posi, where are the new dance emotes we were told would come with GR?

Thanks, guys! I found it, turned it on, and now all is right with the world.
