Dark Melee/Invuln?

I was goofing off the other day on mids and I decided to look at something that I haven't seen any scrapper do in my entire time playing CoH........I thought to myself does it just suck that terribly, or has no-one even cared to try it? So I decided that I would look at it for a little while and after I gave both powersets a good look over I noticed that they didn't really contradict each other at all, in fact they even complement each other on a lot, like you can put the +buildup proc in invincibility to make up for when you only have 1-2 guys around you, then you can take tough and weave for more survivability and when all those toggles get your endurance down, dark consumption.......finally Even a recharge capped person cannot have Dull Pain up more than once every minuet and a half, meaning there is large amount of time there where you have no self heal, Siphon life: even slotted purely for damage it is still a 10% heal every few seconds and with invulnerability's resistance and defense coupled with tough and weave not much is going to hurt you, right? Is their something that I am missing or is this just an under appreciated coupling of power sets?

May be a little under appreciated but its gaining ground.
I have one at lvl 26.
There was a recent thread... just prior to the boards being converted about this very subject. I haven't finalized a build for mine to shoot for, currently a very fun scrapper to play, and I've found that synergy as well.
level 26 and have a grand total of: 13,770 debt at this time... many of my characters had the first debt badge at this point in their careers.

I've got one,
It's Awesome!

How Awesome?
Well, when it comes to smash/lethal Res/Def It's got higher raw numbers than your standard granite tank (of course, mines an IO build so . . ) Then theres the constant heal of Siphon Life.
So with both of those present, she became the first Scrapper I ever picked up Taunt with.
and I dropped Conserve Power to do it. So she's also the first Scrapper I've had that didn't use that in the build either.

Oh, and as for AV killing, she is currently undefeated, she hasn't always been able to beat them down, but has never been beaten down herself.

Just watch out for that pesky Psi Hole.

I've been considering making a DM/Inv or DM/WP once we can customize our power colors. But you raise a question that I've always had about Invulnerability: How would you recommend plugging the "Psi hole"?

Bill do you have a link to that picture in your sig?

The only reason why I haven't made an invulerability type hero is because I HATE their animations and graphics.

I personally wouldn't go out of my way to plug it and would make psi damage dealers priority targets. I'd also keep ToF around to fear them if there are multiples. I'd much rather have higher def to everything else and higher rech (for things like Soul Drain) than spend a lot of slots on psi damage. That, or I'd just eat lucks (heresy, I know).

(Keep in mind, I haven't re-IOed mine to be I13 compliant because I could never fit in everything I wanted into it.)

Two gents that frequented the art forum did this for me. Graver did the pencils while JTran did the inks/colors.

I-16 is going to open up a lot of sets I couldn't stand prior. I'll make an MA scrapper thanks to the alternative animations. My claws/inv is going to get a total color overhaul on his inv. My new dm/wp brute will have everything tinted red/orange. It's gonna be groovy.

I've never bothered plugging it. I've never found it to be a big problem. You just need to remember that you're not invulnerable to them, and can't sleep walk through them like you do through most content. Pay attention to your health. Be ready with inspirations. But you're a Scrapper. Tear them apart.
