  1. Oh wow! Thats awesome, I'd been factoring in 2-2.5 billion just for that IO... Honestly i probably should have looked it up lol
  2. The Panacea's in energize I yanked out of My empath defender and the Gladiator's armor is one of those "i really really wish I could get this" lol. But, So hecatombs in an attack instead and take some of the slots out of stamina, take one slot out of assault.. I'll look more into it, the character is happily lvl 50 now. Now I just have to spend the time with the incarnate system to get the most out of everything. And I didn't know that I would need 59% defense to do incarnate trials effectively, I'll have to look more into that and rearrange my slots again. And I think that now I might be able to afford a set or two of purples, I made almost another billion influence (800 mil) yesterday on my farmer with some really lucky recipe reward rolls. Thank you for all the help though, I honestly didn't know some of this, and do you think it would be better to forget assault entirely and take tactics, six slotting it for the extra defense from gussians?
  3. Here's the new one, still got a few slots i can work around if i really needed to but i don't see gaining much more from moving one or two slots, I don't really know where I would put them, The advice on energy drain was awesome though because if ever i do add in purples then i will be able to add in another set.

  4. Ok, Thanks I looked over your build and i changed some of my slots around, i'm still working on it at the moment but the character is level 18 so far. I'll put up my new build sometime later this evening when i get home and have a chance to work on it some more
  5. Ok, So I think that I have something that will work fairly well against pretty much everything, with negative energy damage being the one fail point in the defenses, and not by much, with all the incarnates on (exempting the damage one in the hybrid, its turned on however because it will always give that passive damage boost, and also exempting Ageless in the destiny slot, more there to give me recovery than anything else)... Here is what I got, Any suggestions?

  6. I have wanted to make an AV/GM/TF solo-er for quite some time now, the problem that i run into is that after i start to think about it its far far easier for a ranged character to solo an AV or GM than other characters, but honestly I just don't have anywhere near as much fun playing a ranged character as I do playing a Melee character. That leaves Brutes, Stalkers, Scrappers, and Tanks. Of those Tanks seem almost completely out of the question as their dps, while it can be made into something very effective, really doesn't match up to the other AT's. Stalkers would probably be a really good bet, but I have no desire to run around hidden all the time, and I just don't enjoy playing Stalkers. That leaves Brutes or Scrappers. With the new AT sets that have come out and Scrappers having a higher crit percentage I think that it would be easier to do this with a scrapper. I do already have a concept in mind and a name on the server saved, and that concept revolves around Street Justice as my primary, however I am uncertain as to what would be the best secondary... Of the scrapper secondaries the easiest ones to work into my concept would be Super Reflexes, Invulnerability, Willpower, and Energy Aura. Dark Armor, Fire Armor, Electric Armor, and Regen would be more of a stretch but I could work them into it if that was the way that it needed to happen... I would like to be able to solo almost all of the games big bosses (excluding those in incarnate trials obviously) as AV's. I have around 4 billion influence to work with now, but making more isn't really an issue. I would prefer not to have to try for PVP IO's however.... I asked on server in the help channel but got mixed responses so I thought it would be best to come here.

    Requesting help

I am relatively new to the villain side and there is one major thing that I have noticed.....As a long time scrapper player there is nothing that really suits my play-style of "Run in and make stuff die with little to no personal risk" I usually play a */Regen and never have endurance problems and I know very well what I can take, and usually solo on invincible............Now that that's out of the way, I would like to make a stalker that can Pseudo-Scrap I would like to be able to decimate that one-two boss(s) in a group and then proceed to destroy the rest of the enemies, either one by one or all at once (either or because I have played both and I enjoy both). I have around 50-150mil to spend on this build and I would need to be able to like the character enough from level 20 to be able to play it to 50. Any suggestions that would help me on my quest to find a villain that can scrap with little problems and not be considered a tanker? (I have tried brutes but every-one wants me to tank, which I don't wish to do.)

    Any Advice?

Here lately I have been creating multiple heroes that I use for various purposes, and most of which have been because I haven't seen very many on Virtue server. I was wanting to make a */Thorny Assault dominator and I was wonder which would be better for a mostly solo person with a decent amount of teaming (I would say 69% of the time solo 31% of the time on teams) Mind Control or Plant Control. So can anyone help me......Just a little more info to help out the advice coming in: I have around 200-300mil infamy to spend on this build and I would like it to be fun from level 1 to level 50.
  9. I was goofing off the other day on mids and I decided to look at something that I haven't seen any scrapper do in my entire time playing CoH........I thought to myself does it just suck that terribly, or has no-one even cared to try it? So I decided that I would look at it for a little while and after I gave both powersets a good look over I noticed that they didn't really contradict each other at all, in fact they even complement each other on a lot, like you can put the +buildup proc in invincibility to make up for when you only have 1-2 guys around you, then you can take tough and weave for more survivability and when all those toggles get your endurance down, dark consumption.......finally Even a recharge capped person cannot have Dull Pain up more than once every minuet and a half, meaning there is large amount of time there where you have no self heal, Siphon life: even slotted purely for damage it is still a 10% heal every few seconds and with invulnerability's resistance and defense coupled with tough and weave not much is going to hurt you, right? Is their something that I am missing or is this just an under appreciated coupling of power sets?
  10. Hey, I'm sure you have been asked this before, but does Defense stack? Like if I am getting attacked by a ranged/fire damage attack and I have 30%defense to ranged and 15% defense to fire would it be safe to say that I have 45% defense and that if it is an even level minion that It would have a 5% chance to hit me?
  11. Why don't you either replace the lvl 50 To hit IO in TT:Leadership with a Gaussians Chance for build up so that you have that small chance to do even more dmg, or take TT:Assault for a permanent +15% boost? on the first build that is, you wouldn't be loosing much and you will gain more dps

    Ninjas

I have decided to make a Ninja/* MM however I cannot decide on a secondary, I have narrowed it down to Force Field, Pain, or Storm, any suggestions?

    -----EDIT: Any helpful suggestions?

    AV soloing?

Ok, I have been playing CoH for almost 3 years now on 2 diffrent accounts and I have been mainly a scrapper player, I have never gotten anything other than scrappers and 1 controller to lvl 50, And all of my scrappers have been team oriented, I want to solo AVs and still be halfway usefull in teams. I have minimal ammounts of influence and I would rather not be /regen because I have 3 lvl 50 regeners that get regular use, I want to try something diffrent. Any ideas, suggestions, or information that can help me? There are probrably guides out there for this kind of thing but as of now I haven't been able to find them.
  15. Soft cap is 45%. What exactly are you wanting this scrapper to do?
  16. Well I already have a name and an outfit and a "basic" concept. I was going to call him, I have the name reserved right now, Insomnious and he hasn't slept for around a year now, and that has given him superhuman abilties........He thinks it was something that he was born with that is just now comeing out, he is a mutant.
  17. Thank you! That does help Kruunch. I really don't have a specific concept in mind yet but I have a relatively good imagination and have found that I can develop some sort of concept for most any power sets......... Ok say that I did go Willpower/Super Strength, what would be some good power choices/slotting decisions or a build with "Why to take this power" and some reasoning about it. I have read the Willpower/SS guide by ironsmiter and Heraclea however both of these are slightly outdated as rage no longer causes you to stop attacking and if I go willpower/SS I would go with SJ as my travel power and most likely run CJ at all times.
  18. Hello, I am looking to make my first tanker ever, and after 2 1/2 years of hearing things about certain tank builds I am about as clueless as I can possibly be. I need help, and I figured that this would be the best place to come for it. I want to make a tanker that is able to tank just about anything, from level 54 Lord Recluse to 8 man team Invincible level mob spawns, to solo mobs. I would like to be able to do some moderate damage, enough to solo on at least challenge level 2-3 (depending on what I am fighting). Does anyone have any ideas/builds/hints,tips/information that can help me? I don't have a lot of influence and I cannot afford the most expensive sets however I play a lot and hopefully I will make some influence and will be able to get some of the medium expensive sets.
