But, the rep system is being used for evil, not good. Quote:It's a shame that it couldn't have been put to good use, like having signed, positive only rep.
Therefore the first quoted statement is partly false. I've also used it for evil, mocking someone's lack of knowledge or to tell them that they were being a butt. Also signed.
I've also left positive and negative rep with no more a comment than a period when the mood struck me.
Your one sided wishes for the rep system seem quite ridiculous to me. If all we're allowed to do is positive rep, what's the point? Send a PM instead. It's not like it would take more time. Oh wait... that one extra click would be horrible, I guess.
Quote:I think we're all issued a mysterious neg-repper.
It makes me smile every time I see it. -
Fair enough. The first thing that pops into my mind when I hear "I was doing the same damage as the scrapper" is "he was ignoring crits again" or "selective memory is awesome!"
I'm coming down from a bad case of "I can't stand it when people ignore facts when making a case for X" and that one line jumped out at me.
Everything you stated about folks getting overly uptight about knockback is as true now as it's always been. And there's nothing worse than a bad team leader hamstringing a player's effectiveness. -
I'm very curious about this topic as well. The answer to the OP's inquiry will determine whether my main hero heads to the other side.

Yea, I'm pretty sure. A good scrapper MA chain using basic IOs and no hasten can push out about 141 DPS. Cranked up to the wall on setIOs it can push out 165. (Based on the DPS results threads in the scrapper forum.)
Let's see what a PB can dish out on average given your 4 teammates buffing damage to 80% and your global damage buff of 26%. I'll assume 95% damage enhancement in each attack. This will be quick and dirty. I'll even give the PB the same ridiculous levels of recharge I used in the first thread. 250% total in Inca Strike. BU does 72% dam buff and we'll say it's up 1/3 of the time for an average buff of 24%.
Attack chain: Inca Strike, Rad Strike, Gleaming Blast, Glinting Eye
Inca: 3.56 dam in 3.3 sec - w/ melee modifier: 148.48
Rad: 1.96 dam in 1.07 sec - w/ melee modifier: 81.748
GB: 1.64 dam in 1.67 sec - w/ range modifier: 57
GE: 1 dam in 1.67 - w/ range modifier: 34.756
Oops, even at 250% recharge, Inca needs a full 5.7 seconds to recharge. Arcanatime would add some to the chain, so let's just stick a gleaming bolt on the end.
GB: .6 dam in 1 sec - w/ range modifier: 20.853
Total chain time: 8.71 seconds
Total base damage: 342.837
Add in all the buffs 106+95+24: 1114.22
DPS: 127.924
Respectable damage, true. But even to get that, all 4 of your damage buffers had to ALWAYS be in range, your current build has enough global recharge to have a 5.71 second recharge on Inca Strike AND the scrapper would have had to have a less of an IOed out build than you.
Soooo yea. Hyperbole. -
HA! I got neg repped for my first post in this thread.
Quote:I guess the person in question doesn't know enough about SR to realize that ANY SR user with ED capped slotting in the 6 primary SR powers at 50 is DDR capped."your" SR's melee defense
Here comes the learnin...
ED cap multiplier for defense is ~1.56
DDR from each toggle: 13.84
DDR from each passive: 6.92
13.84*3 = 41.52
6.92*3 = 20.76
Total base DDR without enhs: 62.28
With 3 even level Defense SOs in each power: 97.1568 capped at 95
That's it. SOs. neenerneener. -
Quote:Hyperbole is bad, mmkay? Unless he was spines. Slotted with DOs.
Teams doing okay anyway, and I'm contributing as much ST damage as the Scrapper is...so no biggie. -
-
I finally nuked that damnable PB whining sound fx so I'm going to give the PB another chance. Decided against rebuilding the original and went with a new character altogether. We'll see how it pans out. It is a lot nicer with that sound gone.
-
-40% defense is pretty dang nasty.
That'd knock my SR's 46% melee defense down to 44%. -
Not off hand. I read it in the really big herocon GR thread.

Quote:3 for 3 failures. Bravo. You would be hard-pressed to use all the available space now without using custom mobs. In fact I'm not even sure it's possible.
Because of that, anyone complaining about runnning out of space has to be complaining they can't use as many custom mobs as they'd like, and that almost certainly means the arc in question is "just a bunch of stuff that happens". The quality of MA arcs will not improve because the FX budget is doubled, and frankly I expect it to degrade.
Quote:You need to cut something, then. If you're as creative as you think you are that won't be a problem.
4 for 4. I'll assume you'll continue doing this all night. -
Quote:Yes, I do. I can't complete my arc properly with the current limit. If they're not increasing the number of missions then there is really nothing you can use that much file space on except custom mobs, and we really, really do not need arcs with twice as many custom mobs as we get now.
Again, cease pretending to speak for everyone. -
Quote:You don't need them. You don't speak for everyone. Thankfully so.
The file size limit ain't broke. They shouldn't be screwing with it. We don't need ten-mission arcs and we don't need arcs with thirty custom mobs in them. -
Problem 1: Now that brutes have claws, there's one more primary than secondary. So you'll have to play some secondary twice if you really want to hit them all.
That said, stick with theme.

Clouded missed DB. -
ER,
FU, Slash, Focus, Strike > Slash, Focus, Strike.
FU still helps. However, the difference may not be enough for some people to bother with. -
PT,
Back when I was running COH on an I-RAM (PCI card with 4GB-DDR RAM and a SATA cable) my zone times were damn near nonexistent. I don't know if a real SSD will perform in the same way or not, though.
And whether SSDs in general are worth the cash yet, I also do not know. -
Quote:You should be familiar with this then:

Happy birthday!
And my own contribution to the list:
- I realized that there's no end-game so I decided to reroll.
Great album.
I've been trying to reroll into a mastermind, but I seem stuck in this aging and fatter by the month SS/WP brute body.
Happy bday, Steelclaw. Thanks for all the lists! -
As per BAB, claws redraw time is 19 frames or about .63 seconds. When dealing with tight attack chains, that's a HUGE chunk of time.
If you're not overly concerned about that hit to DPS, then it won't matter. -
Positron apparently told them to get on with allowing super speeders to run on water, maybe they can take it a step further and allow temporary running on vertical surfaces. (I say this knowing full well that I don't know squat about what would be involved in such a task.)
As to the OP, I find that I'm perfectly happy with sprint, swift, quickness, combat jumping and a few +movement setIO buffs in missions, but I use fly outside of missions. -
-
Also DP/Dark Cor here. I've had a steampunk character brewing in my head since dual pistols were first announced.

Quote:I agree. Rules are rules and when broken there can be consequences. However, someone that feels strongly about the colorful language other players might use will probably find that sending in petitions concerning said behavior so that the game mods can act accordingly will go much farther in curbing such behavior than starting a thread with one's heart on their sleeve sharing with us all one's righteous indignation at the potty mouths of others. While I tend to agree with the sentiment expressed (and it applies to the whole world in my opinion) that doesn't change the rules.
Quote:A second time, I ask politely if they can tone it down and keep it to private channels -
Quote:Running at x8 difficulty. I've had pretty good luck running scanner missions at +2/x8 although the +2 portion of that is irrelevant. Pound through them slaughtering everything in your path. Profit.
If I'm running solo, where would I have the best chance of getting any worthwhile drops?
PvP farming is the way to go though. If you get 1 PvP recipe a day, you can easily hit the inf cap in a week. I made 400 million off of a single fury of the gladiator chance for dam-res debuff last night.
