I wish I knew. I buy other games, tear through them... and then log back into CHV.
I'd like to think it's nothing but addiction, but I know addiction. I'm a smoker. It isn't that.
It's a fun game. It's fun to start new characters. It's fun to realize the potential of powerset combos I've overlooked. It's fun to go into scrapperlock for hours on end. -
Quote:Question for everyone on this statement: Why not just strip and delete?
Besides, I'm only planning on moving characters that I have little to no interest in playing. -
Nope... can't handle two of those. I'm out. Maybe I'll come back with that fire/rad cor.

Unless they're also overhauling the old zones to fix the existing performance issues, there's going to be some rather serious problems.

I seem to recall that huge chunks of Grandville were found to be walls on top of walls.
And then there's the huge areas built below the normal world for stores and some missions.
I've never understood why things were done this way. I still don't know why looking toward the abandoned lab in Port Oakes hammers my FPS by 50%. -
That was beautiful, man.
Why, yes, I plan to solo the LRSF soon with my dm/wp brute. I have absolutely no idea if it's even possible. Gotta do the ever so boring act of getting all the buff accolades and finish the design. Then create an AE arc to learn which heroes will give be pause. -

It's all about the AT damage modifiers which can be found at http://www.redtomax.com/data/modifiers.php
Quick example for base damage difference between a defender and blaster with the same attack:
Blaster ranged damage mod: 62.562
Defender ranged damage mod: 36.147
Attack: Slug: 1.64 lethal damage
Blaster Slug: 102.602 lethal damage
Defender Slug: 59.281 lethal damage
Now add enhancements to the attacks. Say maxed ED capped damage buff of 95%.
Blaster: 200.074
Defender: 115.598
That's not even considering blaster's defiance adding even more buff or defenders using dam-res debuffs.
Brutes and tanks get a similar melee damage mod, with brutes being slightly lower, but brutes get fury which can run close to a 200% damage buff and have a much higher damage cap. -
Padre,
I currently have one active player in my VG. I also have one active player in my SG.
Once upon a time, my SG was in the top 10 on Pinnacle.
As Statesman once said, "it's an MMO, people come and people go."
If I wasn't such an asocial person, I would probably have jumped to a higher population server a long time ago. Luckily for me, I'm am asocial. Ignore the 25000+ posts. That just means I have a job with a lot of downtime.
You have nothing to explain to anyone. I hop on teams when some yells in PinnBadges that something is forming up and I'm not busy with something else. The times I've needed to start something, 90% of the time, PinnBadges was there to help me out.
I may have missed it, but it's entirely possible that you didn't know about that channel. It happens. If you think that your gaming experience will be bettered by moving, you Should Do It. It's a game. It's supposed to be fun. Don't let anyone tell you anything different.
As for the respec trial, I have 54 months of vet rewards. By the time I need to hit up the trial for more, I'm speced to solo it. Like you, I have access to another account for padding. When that time comes, I *KNOW* that two of the people on PinnBadges will take the time out to pad for me to get it started.
And I continue to thank them all for that and will continue to pad for them when they make the call.
If you find, either here or on whatever server you head to, that certain individuals in a channel annoy you, gignore is your friend. Use it freely. There's no reason not to. But find that channel's main channel and make use of it.
Good luck. -
I'm waiting until I hit the inf cap before posting the "joined the ebil" club photo. Matter of fact, I'm going to wait until both my mains are at it.
To make it doubly fun? I NEVER flip anything. I only sell.
I do, however, accept donations. -
Isn't there already a 2 billion inf price cap on everything?

Quote:I agree on the bear. He's awesome. He stands out because he's a farking armored bear!I'm not sure why, but this one really stands out to me. They're all pretty awesome too though.
"War is the sea I swim in!"
Yea, I know... different bear... but man was he awesome. -

I don't plan on moving anyone unless a friend of mine asks me to move a my two alt-50s to Guardian.

Quote:Very true. Rather looking forward to all these unknowns becoming known, ya know?
Too many unknowns at this point. -

Quote:Brutes also have higher base hit points.Scrappers and brutes have the exact same defense and resist numbers for toggles, passives and shields. The only difference is that brute hitpoint caps are higher and they also have tanker level caps for resistance.
A well built scrapper without buffs are just as strong as any brute. The difference comes when buffs are applied and brutes can get to the 90% cap while scrappers are limited to 75%.
Let me assure you that scrappers are not lacking in either offense or defense compared to brutes. I'd be happy to provide a demo if you're not convinced.
Regardless of that, I don't see brutes replacing scrappers or vice versa. The differences between the two while solo mostly boil down to style differences.
Regarding brutes versus tanks, however, I would much rather have a brute on my team than a tank. I'm very curious as to what, if anything, is done to make tanks more beneficial to teams when a team can buff a brute into tank levels of mitigation while it retains scrapper level damage output. -
Quote:But it should. I wonder if Castle can work that out somehow.
Punching yerself in the face does nothing for your fury bar -

And as per the PM, get the directory out of program files. stick it in c:\games\coh or something like that or d:\games\coh if you have a separate data drive. -
You should avoid Pinnacle. Nothing but fun-loving and helpful drunks hang out there. It's awful.

Your opinions and manner of speech lead those reading your posts to have no reason to reply respectfully.
As you have shown nothing that would give anyone cause to think you capable of "thoughtful debate over nuances of the game," why would you expect it?

Found them no more or less effective than other ATs that don't have the above two. I know, this is where you tell me how little I know or appreciate them. Fine. After 28 (PB) and 22(WS) levels, I had enough of the drawbacks.
Quote:It's also true that I've left and formed new teams when a Kheld gets on the team. I'd rather restart a team than deal with the distractions brought on by WS and PB.
Quote:The game is just fine without players scattering mobs, bringing in additional team wipes, and not compensating enough to make it worth the team's while to keep the WS or PB around.
Every single post you've had in this forum has been more of the same. Opinions of little to no worth.
No one owes you an apology for anything. -
Quote:No, it wouldn't bother me at all. I can't solo Hami and that doesn't phase me. If TFs were altered to be mechanically impossible to solo, I'd still attempt to do so. If I failed I'd say a hearty "well played" to the devs and move on as long as it wasn't something stupid like multiple glowies.
Would that stink for you by making you unable to solo the TFs? Yes, it most likely would. But I think that it's more in line with the intent behind TFs more than removing the teaming restriction would be. TFs were meant to be team content. Just because you can solo them now doesn't make that intent invalid.
It would be a vastly superior situation than being forced to exploit the system in order to to start the solo-easy content currently available to us.
Now ask yourself which will involve more work? Reworking all the TFs so that a team is actually necessary? Or removing the min req and turning off the flag on simultaneous glowies? The answer should be obvious.
But of course, based on the fact that the devs feel the need to hold the hands of the ignorant and weak, this is all now a moot point. The status quo will remain in place and those that have the will to do so will continue exploiting the system so that we can make the attempt at whatever content we desire.
Hopefully the devs working diligently at returning our ability to adjust TF difficulty will get the fix in place soon. It's bad enough that we have to waste our time finding pads... it adds insult to injury being forced to play on easy mode if you want to run that content. -
I was pondering it on the way home. The only items that I think you'd need to be concerned with are GW and her hold and LR with all 4 towers up. If you can manage to nail the red and yellow towers, it'll be smooth sailing. Not sure what to do with GW besides leaning on temp pets in the hopes that she wastes her hold on them instead of you.
The rest of it should be a cakewalk.
