Transfering Existing CoH to a new Comp

Evening all,

Ok I know there was a thread about this in the past but everytime I search for it it says forum no longer valid. Anyways, was hoping someone could help me:

Just got a new machine and am trying to transfer my old CoH files to the new system. I put the files on a thumb drive, transferred them to the new machine, tried the updater, and voila nothing happens or it starts to update and then shudders to a halt.

What I had:
Dell XPS 210 (Windows XP Pro)

What I have now:
Dell XPS 630i, (Vista Home Premium)

What am I missing here? Or is it the change over to Vista causing me problems. Both are dual core and I transfered the files to my Program Files (x86)

And as per the PM, get the directory out of program files. stick it in c:\games\coh or something like that or d:\games\coh if you have a separate data drive.
