  1. Late addition for Faathim TF this morning if there is still room. Trying to level my PB, but can switch if needed. I can be an alternate for Lazarus too. Thanks!
  2. Our mixed faction/level team was knocking out an ITF just fine. We completed the 3rd mish ("Stop Romulus" - the one with the computer and 5 gens). It said misson complete, we all exited. The leader called it in to get the last mish and Imperious gives us the 3rd one again. "Stop Romulus" at one of the boats. It's DXP so we figured we do it again. Completed again. Called again. Same mish again.

We've petitioned, but I was wondering if anyone had seen this on the ITF or any other arc? Any suggestion on how we might be able to work around and get to next mish?

Aah, I love it when people don't read the whole thread... even when it's only four posts long...

Stick that tongue somewhere else, Aggie. I've added the times to your quotes to show that Dechs' correction, your response, and my correction all happened within 5 minutes. I am simply slower (or my breakfast got done in the middle of my response), not ignorant enough to read the OP and 1 response, but not the rest. I always read all responses (sometimes painfully so) up to the point I hit the reply button.

I did see them when it posted up of course, but figured most folks could figure out what happened when using asynchronous communication methods on their own. It's especially common on this forum with all our helpful folks that check it frequently, and I didn't see the need to bother editing afterward.

    back at ya!

And on the final Agent G mission, you can defeat all 3 AND not complete the mission by staying away from the hostage. That may be your best bet if you can find some folks to help you run that repeatedly. They'll even beat each other up for you if you have a small team and need some help. I would advise that route, though 6 SOs of a specific type could still take a while.

The leader got to level 26 by the end and still we were all 22.

Anyhow it is not working as intended, we did exactly the same on the Villain SF level 20-25 Air Pirates the night before and it worked fine, started off with purple foes and had whites/yellows by the end.
Actually, I believe that is as intended (though that would mean your previous SF was bugged instead). According to the 10/30 patch notes:
    Quote:
Task Forces that are not Flashback or Architect are now level locked at the time the Task Force is created.
The note is somewhat vague, but based on your experience above (I've seen similar personally), I believe that we can interpret it as the leader's level at the time they accept the first mission of the TF will be the SSK level for the duration of the TF. While it could take some getting used to, I can see it being useful in the long run. Especially on the lower level, longer TFs, it can allow for a more consistent difficulty on the entire TF.
  7. I've been wanting to dust off Disko Inferno for a while now. I've tried catching up with AlienOne a couple times but can't seem to work it out. One of his builds is still 8 X FRad friendly so send me a PM or tell @Big King when more stuff happens. For the rest of the year, Friday's seem busy with holiday parties and holidays, but hopefully I can catch other times or next year.
  8. I enjoyed the limited play time I had last night. The event was really fun, but I also really liked the Halloween event.

I did the Lord Winter Realm once on Justice Heroes. The GM in Talos went down very quickly and almost everyone hung around for the Realm. We had 2-3 teams I guess, and if anything, he went down too easily. I didn't even notice a timer, but it felt like it only took ~20 seconds between GM spawns and each GM was done in ~10 seconds for a total of around 2 minutes for the big guy to drop. Sounds like we may have just gotten lucky with the toons present.

After a few BNY runs, we went to Brickstown for presents and another GM spawn. I have 2 questions about that:
-Is clicking presents all that is needed to start the event? I guess we clicked around 50 presents and never saw the zone dialog for the GM. Were we just unlucky? Could he have already spawned before we zoned in and we didn't see him? Did we need to do something else? We eventually gave up.
-Are the levels that spawn from naughty presents random? We were level 29/30 and thought Bricks was the most level appropriate zone (Talos was spawning grays), but we got anywhere from 30-38 out of the presents. Our static team is well built and could handle up to +6s, but I imagine PUGs would have some trouble. We simply could not damage the 38 boss enough to make a dent and TTPed away after a few deaths. What determines the spawn level?

Thanks. I look forward to the live event.
  9. A work around that I have used at times is to have a lower level toon lead the TF. If you're doing a 50 TF, you won't lose any powers, but you can effectively cause the enemies to be +1 through +5 to you. You can even ask someone to start if for you and then quit if you only have 50s running (since I believe the levels are locked through the TF), but this of course is not an option if you're trying to run with a full team of 50s.

I don't remember any recharge nerf to Mass Hypnosis, but assuming MH is slotted the same on both toons, perhaps you were being SBed before or the previous toon had an accolade this one doesn't like Megalomaniac (to increase sleep duration) or FoN (to add even more +rech)?

If not, I've seen some Doms take the single target sleep for misses.

Regardless, I had a blast on both runs I was able to make on Saturday. Adds a whole new dimension to the game I've been playing for 4+ years when death matters. Thanks to my teammates.

    Thanks!
Welcome to the game! Glad you're having a good time.

There are several reasons that an enhancement can not be placed on a power, but the trial version is NOT one of them. Here is a list of possibilities, starting with my best guess:
-Enhancement level: You can only place enhancements within 3 levels of your toon. If you have a 10 Accuracy Enhancement it can only be placed if you are levels 7-13. After that, it is worthless and cannot be placed.
-Power does not accept: Certain powers only take certain types of enhancements. Accuracy can be placed in (most) attacks, but not in armors, for example. Some enhancements, like Confuse or Intangibility, can only go in a few select powers, which you may not have.
-Origin: If you've gotten into the teens, you may have started getting a few "Dual Origin" enhancements. These have a different outline than Training Enhancements and are twice as effective. These can only be slotted if your toon's origin matches 1 of the 2 origins of the enhancement. For example a Magic/Mutation DO can only be placed by heros/villains of Magic or Mutation origin. Later in your career, there are Single Origin enhancements as well, which are twice as good as DOs, but can only be slotted by the 1 origin they correspond to.

    Other resources:
-In game tutorial. If you get a chance, roll a new toon and read through the section on enhancements in the tutorial. I haven't read it in a while, but I think it's pretty informative.
-Check out ParagonWiki Enhancements section. It has a lot of info. The wiki is a very good resource for players over all so search for other stuff you have questions on there too for fast response.

If none of that helps, feel free to come back here. Tell us your toon's AT, Power Sets, level, and origin, and I'm sure we can help further. Let us know what enhancement you're trying to place and in what power. Good luck!

I think Lucky's point was that, colloquially, they are used interchangably. And literally speaking, 10% = 10 percent = 10 "of each 100", which is a hard number, not a probability rate. However, I think both are commonly used to say "on average, it happens 1 in 10 times" or "it has a 10% chance to happen".

Sorry for the math nerd threadjack (the worst kind!). Regardless, I think it's clear that Metalhead understood it was an independent event each time with an expected value of 1 Jack spawn for every 10 total GM spawns. With 50 kills, he had nearly a 99.5% chance of spawning Jack so he was wondering if he was really that unlucky or if there could be a bug present.

More on topic, I was hoping that the -1 Task Force and team name bugs detailed in the 10/28 patch notes thread would get fixed. I haven't yet gotten to test, but assume from these notes that they have not.
  14. I will mention that I think I saw the TF/SF -1 bug PRIOR to the patch, but in limited testing. I did a BSF and LRSF at +0 over last weekend and had many enemy groups spawning at 49 on my teams of 8, though the AVs were all the correct level. Similarly, I did a Psyche TF on Tuesday and no matter what the leader set their difficulty to, we had 24s spawning. Clamor (the AV) did spawn at 25, which is correct for the TF, but we were +2 at that point.

I am also confused by what precisely the 2 TF changes did in terms of how did it work pre and post patch. Taiyetos' post got me thinking that maybe it is referring to toon level, not mob level as I first thought. As in, the level of everyone on the TF is locked for the duration of the TF, but the mobs should spawn as before. However, this behavior seems to suggest otherwise; that the mob level was affected by something recently.
  15. I have recently gotten my Stone/WP brute to 50. He was one of my funnest toons to level up and I recently came across some very lucrative drops so I have decided to try to upgrade many of his IOs. Since he is WP, I've tried to enhance his HP, regen, and recovery. To this end, I've 4 slotted both QR and Stamina with 4 Perf Shifters (End Mod, 2 end mod doubles, and the proc) and that seems to work well. I'm now examining the Regen side of the house and was seeing some odd things in Mids.

In the legacy build, I had 3 slots in both Health and FH and 4 dedicated to Heal recipes in RttC. I left that alone for now and had this:
    FH: Numina: Heal, Heal/???, +Regen/+Recovery
    Health: Mircale: Heal, Heal/???, +Recovery
RttC: Regen Tissue: Heal/End, Heal/End/Rech, +Regen; Dark Watcher: To Hit Debuff, To Hit Debuff/End; Generic Heal IO

The +Regen "procs" seem to actually be lowering my overall regen. Replacing them with Heal IOs seems better in Mids. Does this sound accurate? Those are very expensive recipes so I'd obviously rather save the money if the numbers are close.

If so, which of the following strategies should I go with:
    1. Just forget the procs and go with the 50 Heal IO (I would also lose a +HP set bonus)
    2. Get rid of the Dark Watchers from RttC. (I would lose +HP set bonus and ToHit debuff, which I like)
    3. Find another slot for both FH and Health and get the other Heal/??? double from the respective sets in there. This will get me closer to ED cap and then the regen or recovery bonus is applied on top of that.
    4. Find another slot for both FH and Health and add a 50 Heal IO to be sure to get regen near ED cap.

For 3, I would also get a set bonus to "Heal Enhancement". Are these set bonuses like Heal enhancements and triple as Healing (adding hit points back all at once), Regen (speeding up the rate at which you gain them back over time), and raising maxHP? I don't have any true Healing powers so I'm trying to see if Heal set bonuses would help at all with Regen and my raised HPs.

Sorry to be so verbose, but in summary, I want to know if changing my Heal IOs to the expensive sets is really worth it. Other folks seem to swear by these sets, but the numbers just aren't looking as good as I'd hoped in Mids.

Any help with this or other suggestions that may help this build are appreciated.

    Thanks,
    King
  16. I'll take an alternate spot with my dark/dark. Hoping for better luck with Comcast this week.
  17. Well put, Sapphire. I've often wanted to express some thanks to both the Devs and the community for so much enjoyment over the years, but wasn't sure how.

I don't get to play as much as I'd like and I'm not as creative as most folks, but the Devs are constantly *ahead* of my wish list. Most of the cool stuff they implement I haven't even thought of yet. Heck, I still haven't gotten to do a BSF yet.

    Great work!
  18. Ugh.... Just lost Internet due to storms. Hope it's back up soon, but if not, didn't want you to think I flaked out. GL and sorry. Very frustrating.
  19. I'll join up too.

Cool King (Cold/Arch def) did well in our practice run a couple weeks ago, but I can bring a Fire/Rad controller or blaster if needed.

I'm ready to rock. I WILL be there, but will not be early unless it's needed. I'm running with my /Traps team 8:00-11:00 so no giving up my spot! Logged into Cool King last night to refamiliarize myself with his powers and binds. Being squishy, I also placed a bunch of bids on large oranges, purples, and greens. Oh right, of course, from a technical perspective. I was referring to an attitude perspective. On most Mo runs, once one person dies, the badge is gone and folks tend to get a little more loose with their playstyle since another death is meaningless. I hope to stay in the former style regardless for practice on the later mishs, which I think will be more of a challenge for real MoITF runs.

Then I will bring Cool King, my Cold/Arch defender, to the toga party. I believe he would be most valuable on a Mo run with shields and debuffs. If he ends up being too cool for the party (i.e. hanging in the corner with Proximo telling lame stories of "the old days"), I'm happy to swap out.

As always, I assume the TF continues even if we fail (esp since there is no real badge yet). However, since this is practice, I hope we will stay in "Master of"/trying for no death mode the entire time, even after the first death.
  24. I'd like to join up as well. I've run a few MoSTF runs with Mr. E and company and they're always fun, badge or no badge. I was planning to bring a Cold/Arch def, but I see team 2 already has a Cold/. If more variety is needed, I also have Arch/Mental blaster, Fire/Rad controller, or a Dark/Dark Corr.
  25. It appears that NVIDIA has released version 190.62 (of the drivers) last week. Any early word on how it plays with CoH and if any settings tweaks are needed?
