  1. I am trying to determine the Day Job badges that can be obtained by Praetorian characters that have not yet reached level 20. The Praetorian Day Job article on the wiki lists many that are obtainable only after leaving Praetoria so that does not help.

The Day Job Recruiter in Nova lists the following:
    Quote:
Tell me more about specific day jobs and their rewards

Ah, you want to know more about Day Jobs here in Praetoria. Fabulous!

Well, here are some specific locations and their benefits you get for 'working' there. We are a very niche market here in Praetoria, so let me give you the full list. It won't take long.

Banker: Log out in an IBP Vault and for a limited time earn an Information Bonus when completing a mission.

Fashion Designer: Log out at a Tailor to receive coupons that grant a discount to Tailor fees.

Marketeer: Log out at the Trading House and for a limited time you will be granted a device that can quickly teleport you back to it.

Pain Specialist: Your empatic nature gives you the ability to mitigate another's suffering. Log out in a Hospital and for a limited time receive an out-of-combat regeneration bonus.

Professor: Log out inside the Cultural Direction and Education Center in Imperial City and for a limited time receive a random piece of tech salvage when completing a mission.

Patroller: Your loyalty and dedication to Emperor Cole has provided you with an XP bonus when you log in.
However, I have never been able to obtain Marketeer or Fashion Designer. The Trading House doesn't flash the day job icon. The traders in Underground Imperial DO flash it, but I've logged out there and gotten no progress several times. I've never even found a spot where the Fashion Designer would be given since I'm not aware of "walk-in" costume changers.

Has anyone been able to obtain these badges in Praetoria? Are there any others not listed that you've found?

Thanks for posting your updates, TheLurker. Exact same thing happened to me with Beam Rifle. Another log in fixed it right up, but there were a couple minutes where I was getting riled up.

While this is likely the case, I do want to point out that it is not impossible to correctly receive both Assistant and the Numina badge at the same time if you are a Vigilante who had previously run Ice Mistral the same week. The WST rewards are awarded the first time you complete either side's target.

Thanks, Linea. I'll have to look again for that license.

My information is coming fromParagon Wiki which seems to state the opposite. It explicitly says that monthly stipend points DO NOT count toward the 1200 needed for a token and that "VIP Players are given one Reward Token per month of paid subscription time after Freedom launches."

My second account has gone Premium so I thought I would report back. (Presumably because I am tier 2,) my SG access was unchanged. My CEBR retained the red star and can access/use the base as before.

I did find a few more limitations that I did not consider previously:
-No market posting. They did do a good job allowing access to previously purchased/posted items, but no new items can be sold. Temporary market licenses can be purchased. Perm license at tier 4.
-No large/med inspirations. Not a deal breaker, but does make things more difficult at higher levels. Mediums drop at tier 4; larges at tier 8
-Less slots for recipes, salvage, and market. The lower inventory for recipes and market make rolling/selling more cumbersome.

In summary, it appears that tier 4 (8 tokens earned) is the threshold for successful CEBRing. That gives everything needed except IO access, large insps, and higher inventory, which can all be worked around.

I need 6 more tokens to get there. That's $70 worth of points (including the bonus one I would get for first points purchase) or I could pay $77.70 for 6 months of VIP, play with no limits during that time, and then apply my tokens over time. I'll probably either do that or just roll another CEBR on my main account.

Ah, that must be it. Thanks for the info. AE arcs are treated as TFs so I must have logged out with those still active.

Depends on if you have enough vet access for (or have purchased) AE.
What do you mean by "purchased"? Are you referring to buying points that I outlined above or is there a temporary license I could buy for AE? I did not see one, but could have missed it in the store.

Thanks for the guide, TopDoc. Through very casual playing, I got my CEBR to 50 yesterday. I had planned on reporting how long it took me, but when I talked to a citizen, they told me it was 540 hours, which can't be right. I'd guess closer to 10-15, with about half of that in missions and the other half rolling tickets, goofing off at the market, or messing with my newly formed solo base.

I do have an issue. I did this project on my 2nd account and am considering letting that go Premium this week. Because I just created it recently, I have only earned 2 reward tokens. Here is how I believe this will impact me:
-The biggest impact seems to be the lack of rewards in MA, which I need 6 more tokens to achieve. Is there any way around this? If not, I may have to sub 6 more months if I want to continue CEBRing on this account.
-The 500M inf cap may be an issue as well, but is easily remedied by email.
-I don't have any expensive sets in the build yet, but will have to replace my common IOs with SOs.
-I am unsure how this will impact my SG. It appears that tier 2 allows me to join them, but my CEBR is the big star currently. Should I promote someone from my main account? Can my CEBR still enter the base, add/take from the storage, and use the empowerment buffs?

Does anyone else have any experience with Premium CEBR?

Which is precisely why naming it that way was a bad idea. No one is advocating that swapping the names would have been better. Completely different, more specific names would have helped.

My guess is that they realized this, but had real estate issues trying to fit better names on screen and figured folks would figure it out.

I certainly don't "Claim All". I pretty much only claim the merits and useful powers. The respecs, tailor tokens, and base items all stay in the list until I need them. The cosmetic powers (sprints and non-combat pets) are never claimed because my temporary and inherent power lists are difficult to manage. I wish I could remove (or organize) other useless powers from that list as well like Vanguard pet, Shadowy Pressence, and Walk.

Perhaps all that falls under "avoiding clutter", but it doesn't feel like it. Specifically in the case of the Base items, the fact that you can now only claim them once means claiming them for a SG that already has them is a waste.

Which is a big fail of logic on Paragon's part. (Yes, I know, from dev's side it isn't upside-down at all, but we aren't the devs.)
Agreed. Now that I know it, I can see what they were thinking, but it was counter intuitive at first. Only because I saw my vet rewards (which were once per character previously) did I even question it before claiming.

  9. Prior to the new model, I asked the billing team if there was any way to gift someone subscription time and was told there was not a way directly, but that I could purchase an NCSoft game time card and give it to them (or just pass along the number). I assume that still works (for VIPs), but finding the cards has become more difficult despite the fact that I buy them all up whenever I find them (mostly at Best Buy stores).

I was hoping that we might have more options with the introduction of the Paragon store, but no such luck so far. I'm hoping they can find a way to overcome the security concerns and allow us to buy VIP time or points for friends. I'd really like to be able to help out RL friends who fall on tougher financial times and in game friends who do particularly great things for the community and my gaming experience.

Note that you may have to turn on the option to see the Vault on your map. It's in the corner of your map ("Options" drop down) and you need to toggle on the radio buttons.

Since I21, I've had some issues with this, presumably due to the new icons for contacts. On pretty much all my alts, nearly everything is turned off now. I have to go in and turn them all on (except Names) to see what I want on my map.
  11. This is today, and I've got the "first day of a new Superteam" excitement kicking.

Everyone is welcome. Come join us tonight at 8pm EDT/5pm PDT on the star in Nova Praetoria. If you can't join us then (or any time tonight), then you can find us on the "Justice Superteamers" channel at the same time on Fridays and Sundays. Latecomers are fine, you will catch up to the core group quickly.
  12. Sunday's events continued the fun. I happened to be the dead body on the winning team (led by none other than the notorious LSK) and chuckled to myself when I was teleported just a little too far from a badge or zone exit. There was mass chaos, but that's part of the fun.

We finished up with great success on our MoLambda runs, as Allyriah alluded to. We had such good turnout that some of our JST mates agreed to sit out to allow room for our guests. We ran 3 times. Each one went like clockwork and got all the badges we tried for. Great organization, listening (which oftens dooms these runs), and execution. A shiny new badge "Master of Lambda" badge for all, and I got a Very Rare on the final run to complete my tier 4 Lore to boot.

We really had a great time hosting these events and I consider them a great success. Many thanks to the members of the Justice community that came out and participated. You really made these events fun and we hope to see you again. I also want to thanks my colleagues on the "Justice Superteamers", especially EF, for putting the work and prizes in for a high quality set of events. I really enjoyed myself.

Although another MoLambda run may happen, but I think the final thoughts for this coming weekend were to try to make some Keyes runs. Several members of the Mo runs had never run it due to the dearth of opportunities. We figured we would give it a go. I hear it's much harder and longer than the others, but that should only make it more attractive since we run +4/x8 ITFs for fun and challenge. I doubt these will be Master runs, but anyone is welcome to join us Friday or Sunday at 8pm EDT. Join channel "Justice Superteamers" for easiest communication.

The the week after that on Friday, 9/9, it's on to our next project, the Darkness Superteam. This will be our 7th project since we kicked off the first (all TA/ defenders) on Friday the 13th of Feb, 2009. Come join us then.
  13. Woo hoo! It's today!

Just a few short hours until crazy lowbies are running through the Hollows and Rogue Isles trying to avoid detection by purple mobs all in the name of money and recipes! Following that, a raid on the Rikti Mothership with a bounty on the big boss. We hope you all make it out for the fun with the Justice Superteamers.

We'll be monitoring the thread and online early if you have any questions about the activities. Otherwise, show at Wincott in the Hollows by 8:30pm EDT/5:30pm PDT.
  14. The OP says it does not start for another 1:15, but the servers do appear to be back online (it appears they fixed the servers status page because I see "Updated: 2011-08-11 14:40:03 UTC"), which is usually when DXP starts.

I believe they have also notified us when it's officially on in the past.

Not quite, but close. I think I have them all at 33+, which means I can access all the powers in all the control sets, but I've doubled up on Fire, Earth, and Plant while neglecting Grav and Electric.

I am an admitted Controllerphile. They are by far my favorite AT with over 400 combined levels of play, while Doms are near the bottom with Chisel remaining my only 50 Dom. It's always seemed odd to me, but I guess I enjoy the synergy with the buff/debuff sets since Defenders and Corruptors seesaw for 2nd place. I think it's mostly because all the melee, blast, and assault sets seem so similar to me, but the differences in control and buff sets is huge.

BTW - I'm in the same boat on the buff/debuff sets, with that pesky Pain Dom remaining at around 20. I was considering a Necro/Pain MM for this team until someone reminded me that MMs were not in the project description. Now I'm deciding between Dark/Pain Corr, Dark/Fire Scrapper, Dark/Elec brute, and Ice/Dark tank.

Regardless, you know I'll be there 9/9.

  17. Great guide. I took many of its recommendations when building up my Ill/Rad that I am currently Incarnating. I've got two potential builds. My main goal is perma-PA. Secondary goals are perma-mez protection, ranged defense, and damage. I mostly play on large teams and enjoy manipulating dead teammates, thus I have the Veng/Fallout/Mutation combo.

The first build has Ageless in addition to Spiritual. That makes it very recharge rich even before the sets, and includes Psionic Mastery for IW. Psinado and Assault were the "last 2 out" that I just couldn't find room for.

I welcome any comments on which build looks better, as well as any tweaks you might make. Thanks.
  18. Well done, Trickshooter. This is a great combination of concept, playability, and well thought out powers. In addition to supporting most of the comments above, my only other suggstion is to include the chance for an ally DEBUFF on Roulette. I know there is a lot of gnashing of teeth surrounding this with the debuff aspects of Mystic Fortune, but that's what Roulette is to me thematically. It could be good, could be bad. It could be a really small chance for debuff, like getting turned into a monkey from Secondary Mutation, but it would add something extra to the power.
  19. Yes, that is correct. In order to play Going Rogue restricted content, you will need to have a GR retail code applied to your account.

For your earlier question, see my link to Game Cards on the wiki. You can upgrade your account to full status using a "Game Card", but that is different than a "Time Card" (typically a little more expensive and may only be able to be applied once to an account). Depending on what you can get your hands on, I would guess your best two options are:
1 - Apply "Game Card" to upgrade from Trial to Full. This gives you 30 days of play time.
2 - Apply a Going Rogue Expansion retail code to give you access to GR.
3 - Add more time using a credit card or "Time Cards".
    OR
1 - Apply a Going Rogue Complete Collection retail code. This will upgrade your account from Trial to Full, give you 30 days of game time, and give you access to GR.
2 - Add more time using a credit card or "Time Cards".

I better get on the ball.
  21. I do not believe you can apply a time card directly to a trial account. First, you must apply a retail version of the game to your account to upgrade it to a fully functional account. Which version you purchase to upgrade it will dictate whether you can access Going Rogue features. If it's a GR retail version (e.g. Complete Collection), then you can access it. If you buy a CoH or CoV version (e.g. Good Vs Evil or Architect Edition), then you can not. You can then apply time cards to your account to extend your subscription. Note that most retail versions come with 30 days of game time included.
See the Wiki for the different versions.

To my knowledge, the download is available publicly and you do not need an active account to install the game, just to log in and play it.

PS - Perhaps you are referring to a Game Card, which it appears functions similarly to a retail edition, but looks like a time card. If so, this will NOT get you access to GR.
  22. What is the most effective way to use my Razer Naga in CoH?

I have had my Naga for a couple months now and, after some initial tests, have not really utilized the thumb buttons. I enjoy the mouse, want to get the most out of it, and have recently hit a situation with my Thugs/FF that I think it can help with. I expect a learning curve.

I typically use the numpad for MM pet commands. I also use it for individual team buffs. Now, that I'm leveling a Thugs/FF, that creates a conflict. I tried using the "Razer Naga" menu option, but that seems to steal one of my existing keyboard trays. Is there a way to use that and still keep 1-0 for tray 1 and alt 1-0 for tray 2? I could give up tray 3 if I had to.

Barring that, what suggestions or methods do other Naga users out there have?

Read the guide in my sig, then you'll want to play a MFing Warshade.
True story. My WS had floundered in the 20s and I was looking for something new to level much like the OP. I read Dechs' guide (which is a informative and fun to boot) and am now a convert. Sata is now my most fun character and only one with a Very Rare Alpha with perma-Eclipse (even a good bit of overlap with Spiritual).

    Badge Tracker

City Info Tracker using Titan Sentinel is my tool of choice. Just create an account, download and run Sentinel while you play, and a wealth of info (including badges) is tracked on the site for you.

Tip: Use /info_self to initially populate or add any badges to the list that were missed and then manually send it to the site in Sentinel.
