Quote:the Hollows are not dead on Freedom. different zones for different folksConcerning the OP and Atta: I'm kinda shocked that people still do the Hollows, I mean, it is a good place to cut your teeth but even on Virtue it seems like another dead zone.
But anyway, I support any revamped content. Wish they would add more variety to paper/radio missions. -
The best thing about reading the forums is finding a post from a new player
Glad to hear that you're enjoying the game. Yes, we're generally a friendly and helpful bunch. You're proof that, despite many doomsayers, the game is not dying! If you play on Freedom:

Quote:Bad taste and bad manners are not hard and fast rules. They are personal opinions, which you are entitled to. But you're throwing them around like you own the place, and that strikes me as 'bad manners' in it's own rightNo, it isn't. Or rather, neither of those options is "valid". Choosing something for the express purpose to offend is not acceptable, and neither would be me policing what other people do (which would be ineffective, anyway).
There's no policing going in here (nobody has the power to police the costume choices of other players). But the total relativism you advocate is a cop-out, too. Some people put together ugly costumes or color combinations because they don't know better. Some even do so intentionally, because they enjoy the irritation they cause. They still have the freedom to do so. And I have the freedom to say that they lack taste (and in the latter case, good manners, too). -
Quote:Ooh boyThere must be some misunderstanding here, because I've never said anything about judging the game-world rationale behind colorization schemes (or other aspects of character customization), tying them to backstories, or whatever.
I am talking, quite frankly, about players who create the visual equivalent of Vogon poetry. If you look at the particularly weird colorization scheme some players choose for their powers (neon green sonic effects, shocking pink electricity), maybe 1 out of 10 has chosen that scheme because they knew what they were doing. The others will have done so just to be different, to specifically create shock reactions, or because they simply lack the ability to translate a vision of their characters into an actual costume.
Their desire to have 'shock-value' is just as valid as your opinion of what makes makes an overall costume 'look good'
noone here has ever shown me a valid Fashion Police badge yet -
Quote:Leia scores higher on the curviness scale. Padme had a personality I found more appealing. In this man's opinion, tieBy the way, Anakin was hotter than Luke, so that's a score for the prequels - not sure what the guys opinions on Leia and Padme are though
Unless Leia was wearing the Slave Girl costume *drool* -
I completely agree with Sam
The trouble with the prequel trilogy was that Anakin Skywalker came across as a whiny half-wit and that Obi Wan was too dense to understand the balance of the Force. At the end, there were 2 Sith and 2 Jedi. The Chosen One had brought balance. The end.
I'll enjoy me crimson and orange fire/fire tanker and my green and gold fire/fire blaster. Perhaps you should close your eyes? -
Yeah Nightshade, that's the one
was trying to avoid the whole 'spoiler' thing, as the throne room makes everything else worth the effort
and I've never gotten more than 2 levels out of the mish, so you started at a lower level?
sometimes it just doesn't pay to rush things -
Oh, and by the way
where did I say that Freedom was 'the best' server?
certainly not in this thread
there's a reason I never downrate or uprate anyone, just make comments and tags -
But the mobs do level up, from front to back. The rewards shouldn't be dropping...
...plus everyone wanted to get that famous screenshot
It's what used to make it a popular mission. A 'must do' in the Hollows. Frostfire got so popular that people get to that and then head to Steel? -
Sorry, but I enjoy the Atta mish as is. It used to be that players knew what to expect up front and were willing to man up for the task
We need to improve the players, not the mission
(just kidding, but some players do get whiny about any little thing like a long mission) -

Paragon's Sour Grape... 09-15-2009 07:17 AM **** you I Love Freedom!!!
I can only assume that was supposed to be a negative rep. Oh well. With those five words you've just confirmed several of the reasons why I LEFT Freedom and haven't come back, sir. Good job!
You just trashed the most populous server and are surprised you get dissed back?
Successful TFs or not, you're treading on the City Life path here -

We keep telling you that your videos do a fantastic job of showing the general public what it is that keeps us playing CoH/V
you are the best, please believe us -
If it were open all year it would have to change with the seasons. Bird watching in the spring. Hiking trails in the summer. Trick or Treating in Autumn. As usual in the winter
-
I believed you when you said it could be done, but would take an incredible amount of man hours to do.
You are a modern Herakles, and we marvel at your labors -
Freedom may not have gone yellow, but Virtue did!
make of that what you will -
I never thought that the Euro crowd would be so uptight about toon gender
my toons run about 75% male and 25% female, and I feel a connection to both
must be a side effect of wanting to write superhero comics as a lad -
Michelle
Dangit gal! We keep tellin' ya that Paragon Studios can't make 'em better 'an ya can!
They ain't better. They ain't gettin' any better. YOU ARE THE BEST!
An' we're-uh gonna KEEP tellin' ya that 'til ya BELIEVES us!
(spoken as my forebears would, for emphasis!) -
My trapster went from 1 to 9 as smooth as silk. agent moonchild's only speedbump was that Freedom was kicking everyone on our team when we tried to enter missions. Ran the sewers all the way to KR, and when she logged back in after midnight got a team. Played a few missions and everyone loved the FFG so much she got an SG invite
Traps is going to be fine. All I need is caltrops, FFG, acid mortar, and PGT. Every team loves it after they've played a few mishes with a trapster

Quote:you can end the popups in the Options menuthe new sking is quite good actually tbh, but the pop up afgter every mission gets abit annoying sometime and it only has the accept or quit team choice
could do with a no sk ty option. broad sword stalker feels wierd but nice. and go ftw with arch/ta corrs.
colours so far look alright -
eh, mine's boring...
It's not the name of my first toon. That's still my global @hornetsnest, an insect themed bots/ff MM. Because I registered on the forums a few weeks later, my main toon at the time was an amphibious SS/Inv brute. I'd gotten flack from a few people for his name, Simon Unloved. To avoid further mocking, I chose BigFish as my handle.
Haven't used that anywhere else. Mostly just use my full name, as the middle name (Earl) is unusual enough to get me in the clear -
You mean anything besides the fact that we're naked Great Apes? I don't believe in 'souls' or 'eternity'. I'm quite prepared for the sine-wave of life to pass on to another generation of naked apes once my time is through
Even this universe won't last forever. And we're such a tiny part of it. So to say we are 'special' in any way is kind of silly. The jumping-spider that keeps my lamp free of annoying bugs is just as 'special' as you are -
I say that the Tiger Shark that eats it's sibling while still in the womb believes it's position is correct as well. A few of us have sited examples of social behavior in other animals being the equal of human morality. We are only special in that our language skills give us the ability to rationalise our actions. This makes it too easy to talk ourselves up, point fingers at the 'funny' people, and talk our way out of punishment for bad behavior that wouldn't have happened if we were really 'superior'. Humans are not
