  1. Sounds cool, so, if you are in a fight and say as above you have super strength.

If you hit somebody with your first attack, which on SS is jab, it cuts the enemy defences by 20% for 10 seconds!?

I assume this is immaterial of how many enhancement slots, or indeed what enhancements you have in it?

    Best power ever!

Best power I've used so far?

    Unstoppable!

I do the same thing with my Defender too. I made a Macro that basically says something like, "I got my speed boost slotted solely for endurance recovery, who wants it?" The guys that respond in the affirmative get it.

Thing is, with any in game buff, most of them, are VERY useful immaterial of what they look like. So I don't mind when I am buffed. But when some random passer by just all of a sudden blasts me with Fortitude or Density or whatever... I just think... huh?!?

Now with regards to fortunes, I don't mind them, the only one you really don't want is the fool. Getting them in the middle of a fight though, no thanks. Especially if you are a Tanker in the thick of it all its like... frigs sake, get that thing outta my face! Again, if some random passer by tries to fortune me, I usually click no.

It's once a minute without any recharge enhancements/bonuses/buffs.

Power Sink is ridiculously worth it if you have ANY kind of endurance issue at all.

It's even worth it if you DON'T have any endurance issues, as it drains your enemies of endurance and makes them unable to use their big attacks, and negates endurance recovery to boot!
Thanks very much for that information. Much appreciated!

I generally don't have much of an endurance issue when I am in a group even as small as two. As said tank grows the endurance back rather well and is not doing 100% of the fighting. However, when I am soloing (I prefer to group so don't solo much), I find that I can't keep up the momentum and have to pause 2 or 3 times in each mish. I know a tank doesn't need that "constant momentum" a brute does, but admitedly, I do like to keep moving.

I have to admit, being as I've only been playing regularly for 6 months, there is still much I don't know, or consider. I never considered the tactical benefits of having it for instance. But that's great. I'll have to pick it up, thanks again.
  5. Hey guys, I'm going to be respecing my electric tank soon, I was just wondering if taking Power Sink is worth it?

I mean if suitably slotted does it make a big difference to helping your endurance?

    Thanks
  6. Hey guys, just a quick question. Once you get past level 30, how does the power and slots work?

I just turned 31 on the weekend, and I had 3 slots instead of 2. Also, what about powers? Do I still get to choose powers every even number just like I did prior to 30?

    Many thanks.

    Magic Store

Ah right, thanks guys. I'm 32 at the moment, so wanted to find out where to locate them ready for when I hit 33

    Magic Store

Rikti War Zone eh... don't you have to be at least 35 to get in there?

    Magic Store

Hey guys, just A quick question where can I find me a magic store that sells lvl 35 SO's?
  10. Hey guys,

Am playing through one of the guest author AE's, been working my way through them, basically though I'm really stuck!

Its the one where you have to break the Great Face's Uncle out of the Zig, well, I went in, took out all the security. Found the guy, and then, well... nothing! I led him to the Arachnos Flier where I came in and zip! The mission didn't complete or nothing.

Just wondering where is it you have to take the guy in order to get the mission completed.
  11. surely one should always be concerned with Psy?
  12. I use Electric on my tank, and I have to say while it won't provide you specific defences, it does provide you defence to a host of powers and things that can be thrown at you. Electric can protect you from sapping attacks, it can protect you from psionics too.

Against things that can zap you with energy or psychics is Electrics strong suit I find. But toxic... well the vazhilok are my kryptonite.

Im hoping as I get my tank leveled up I can slot some SO's in her and that should help a bit, but, truthfully against toxics... run!
  13. Cheers, wow, what an epic epic and informative post. That's really good.

Basically you're right in your assumption reading into my request I want the fun and the rewards, and I'm fully honest about that. I'm new so if I put my foot in it and offended anybody then for that I am truly sorry. But I just wanted to be honest in what I want out of MA, and I'm glad I asked.

I want to learn the game inside and out, as I enjoy it so much I am many years late to the party but now I'm here I'd happily quit my job to stay home and play!

Mission Architect to me loomed like a thing that was confusing and confusing things make me want to steer clear of them. At least now I understand a little better what is going on with it. But when I learned about how you could be rewarded for your efforts, and I do want the rewards, but I also want to have plenty of fun.

The times I have used MA and I can count on one hand how many times, (literally) I have always took the time to rate, and leave a comment. It was always others though who picked what we did, so my memory is fudgy, but one I do remember that sticks is Ctrl alt reset. That was cool.

I want to use MA to enjoy the game, the playing, and, yes, I admit it, for the rewards so I can make the best quality characters possible.

I am actually a compulsive fan fiction writer, and if I can figure out the Mission creator, then that would be a way to make my fan fic, a reality, but at the moment I just want to enjoy others, and of course, be rewarded

I tried using the editor about half way through writing this post, and I definately need plenty of practice before I'm ready for that.
  14. Might have been arrogant of me, but I just took it for granted that the stories would be good anyway because I expect the vast majority of us are comic and superhero fans, I mean Ive not used AE hardly, I've just heard that AE was a great place to go for upgrading your character and "having a laugh", like the holodeck on star trek one of my mates described it as.

I have 6 characters that are all mid 20's in level, all were done the hard way in game. Im not looking for AE just to level up, I did say in the original post that I wanted to have lots of fun, but I'm also honest enough to say I want to get something out of it too.

If you know any, I'd love to hear.
  15. Hey guys,

I'm still relatively new to the game but I have 5 characters now which are all up and over level 20. My highest being 28. I haven't played in AE much but am thinking of getting into it, mainly because of the single origin availability there.

I've read a few things around this forum about AE basically, I'm not going to lie, I do want to get some good missions that will furnish me with both tickets and XP. There are two new characters I want to "fast track" up the levels and another two characters I am playing through Praetoria normally.

So basically, as Im not very familiar with AE I'd love it if you guys can offer me some suggestions for playtime in AE that:

won't get me crushed like an empty can, but will be fun for me and my workmates who play COH to leap into.

Will provide some good XP to help my harder characters level up a bit,

and also gives you good reward of tickets to help me out with my recipes and salvage requirements as well as my SO's.

All suggestions gratefully received. As I'm in work a bit and cant get on the forum much due to restrictions, my email is alienmike@virginmedia.com if you wanted to mail it over.
  16. So what do you guys think of this as a build for a Tanker?

Its not the most durable configuration I think compared to other primary sets like invulnerability for example, but it offers good build for the tanker that wants to fight the bad guys as well as take a beating off them.

I kinda like it, its low levels now, but its working out well so far.
  17. Oh right, thanks very much. I guess I'll have to take it day by day then.

I was worried I was doing something wrong or something. Thank-you.
  18. I was trying to buy the superbooster packs, managed to get the first one, the cyborg pack, for all the others, I get:

We're sorry, but we are unable to accept your order at this time. Please try again later or tomorrow. If you continue to have problems, you may wish to visit one of our retail partners.

    ???

I had this error all day yesterday so now its today and same again.
  19. As this would be my first major even since I began playing City of Heroes/Villains. Im looking forward to it! It sounds like it could be a lot of fun, and obviously you aren't compelled to just fight Rikti you can obviously do other stuff if you want, but either way its pretty cool how these various events pop up.
  20. I'm in the UK so am on the Defiant server, I'm still getting used to all the controls in truth so I think I look like a clumsy fool really, but in my defence I've only been playing for like... 2 days. So I don't think Im doing too bad...

The only thing Im finding a bit disconcerting, is the fact that for a MMPORG, I've barely seen anybody who isn't an NPC
  21. Wow guys, thanks for the very warm welcome!

I don't know about finding help, I reckon everybody is off playing going rogue right now, so for the most part, I've been all on my lone some round the place. So you know, I'm having to battle on. I reckon I may have to try and level myself up a little bit before tackling this one, because my villain, she ain't best served for this kind of thing.

I'm not far off level 8, so I was thinking I might revisit this mission as a level 9 or maybe even 10 and then I should hopefully steamroll the snakes.

It was kind of a rude awakening because till this mission, I'd pretty much been plowing through the game. So I guess this has taught me many a valuable lesson.
  22. Hey guys, well I'm new to the world of city of heroes and villains so hopefully some you seasoned and grissled veterans can help out.

If you took the villain route, well, I have got to level 7 and I am working for mongoose now, and basically Ive got a mission where I have to clear out a snake pit. And this is where I am really struggling.

My character is a level 7 Dominator. Gravity control and energy assault. Basically, the snakes like to get up close and personal to fight, so as a result Im honestly just spending trips back and forth to the hospital.

    Any ideas guys?
