Makes you patient and smart in my book...
  2. Yep... I need a heaping healthy helping of Cytoskeleton Hami-Os... And, last I saw, the Synthetic ones were actually more than the normal ones at Wentworths...
  3. Gotcha. After all is said and done, my "get down and dirty" characters would benefit from all of them, and my "kill 'em from a distance" characters more from the +Recovery.

So, I am far less likely to slot these in my Fire/Dark/Soul Corruptor than my Soul/Widow.

Now... About getting all those HamiOs I need... <whew>
  4. I was casual. Now I am not.

I think it is easier to separate the "uber-gamer" or "power-gamer" from the mere "harcore" gamer than to determine what 'casual' is.

If you own every purple your AT can use, on more than 5 toons; you are uber...

If you have not only had over a billion, but you routinely keep over a billion, on hand, on more than 5 toons, you are uber...

    Other distinctions-
Hardcore gamers design builds that solo +4/x8
Uber-gamers design builds for soloing MoXTF/SFs
Harcore gamers fully utilize Mids and don't need any guidance making the ultimate AT build.
Uber-gamers don't need Mids; "It's all in the ol' noggin."
  5. # of alts? Not really sure... About 30 I think...

Favorite AT? VEAT (though Brute and Scrapper vie for second)

Favorite Powersets? Widow, Soldier of Arachnos, Dual Blades, Shield Defense

    Favorite Origin? Natural, Magic

Favorite Alignment? Villain, even though my extra extra extra favorite is still my first 50, an Invul/Energy Tank

Had one Loyalist, mostly Resistance... All but one of my Praetorians have gone hero (and that was the lone Loyalist [Praetorian Pugilist - a SS/SR Brute])

I have 1 Rogue and 1 Vigilante. The Rogue is a 50 Crab and the Vigilante is a 38 PB... I just liked the irony.
  6. My Invul/Energy Tank uses them and it is a good thing. WAYYY back when I took Energy Melee, I did so because at the time, it was less of an end drain and, in theory, you could last long enough to finish a fight even though you didn't hit particularly hard (like Axe and Mace tanks back in the day did [and still do]).

Now, with an End of 112 AND the Tier 4 Cardiac, I STILL need them to keep fighting. But that's the point... I CAN keep on fighting.

I use +2/x8 as my difficulty for him, and I don't have to stop... ever!

For my widow (and her seemingly FULL TRAY of toggles), I'm pretty certain they are useful (for ALL my VEATS, come to think of it with the dual-Leadership toggles).

I DID forget about the A-Merits... But, then again, that's only good if you're not a Rogue or Vigilante.

So, for which ATs would the extra slots and the extra merit farming/inf farming/recipe farming/expenditure NOT be a efficient use of resources? (I see Dominator above...)
  7. to have in each of your builds:

    Inherent Fitness
    Heath- Numina's Convalescence: +Regen/+Recovery, Miracle: +Recovery, Regenerative Tissue: +Regeneration
Stamina- Performance Shifter: Chance for + Endurance, Performance Shifter: Endurance Modification

So, 2 extra slots added to Health and 1 to Stamina, so 3 slots away from your Primary/Secondary powersets.

As of last night (2/24/2011), Numina's +R/+R recipe was going for 80 mil, Miracle for 150 mil, and Regenerative for 50 mil and change.

    Just the recipes...

Performance Shifter was up and down yesterday, and the second PS:EM could be replaced with a 50 End Mod IO if you don't really want the 5% Movement increase (since MOST builds at this point are already capped for Movement speed).

If you start cold; no recipes or salvage for the above, you are talking 325 million inf to deck out your AT.

I did the math in Mids, but my Mids-Fu is weak...

So, number crunchers, what say you?
  8. I think, on the Bane (even though he is named "Huntsman Beorn"), I am going to respec into an almost exclusively melee build.

Shatter - Bash - Pulverize - with either Crowd Control or Shatter Armor depending on how many are in front of me, and Poisonous Ray as a nice little filler.

I want double Leadership, and Super Speed + Cloaking Device + Recall Friend maybe for TFs.

I also want Kick+Tough+Weave, and if I can fit it in... Combat Jumping.

So, based on those parameters (for the Bane, I am still shelving the Crab Rebuild for the moment), I wonder what I can get for 1 billion that will be at the cap for most to all defenses and a solid DPS attack chain on (mostly) single targets.
  9. There probably isn't a game out there I haven't played, but the ones I enjoyed the most were:
ALL White Wolf (the originals, not the new stuff)
    AD&D (1st, 2nd, and 3rd edition... Don't have any newer stuff)
    Star Wars (WEG, not WoC)
    Shadowrun (1st and 2nd editions)

as to running, I ran a Star Wars campaign for nearly 10 years, and a Werewolf (with HEAVY crossover from Mage, Demon, Hunter, Wraith, Kindred of the East, Mummy, Vampire... you name it) that only ended 2 years ago (and I started it with some different people back in 1994). I started my first AD&D campaign in the early 80s and they pretty much lasted until +/- 1994.

Exalted is cool, but I agree, one requires advanced degrees in quantum mechanics to orchestrate the world correctly.

I don't run anything now, though a Serenity game is in the works...
  10. Damn, I am going to Vegas this Saturday...

Seriously, I would like to do it... ONCE.
  11. When I was a young lad living in the UK in the mid-70s, the ONLY Dr. Who I knew was Tom Baker (I later learned of Jon Pertwee, Patrick Troughton and William Hartnell upon coming home to the States). And, the Brigadier was as solid and dependable and so very-very British as one could hope.

Mr. Courtney, you shall be missed...
  12. A spear/halberd/staff/two-handed weapon requires different coding and animations. I'm certain they've thought about it, but not sure if they are all that interested in it at this time.

I'd love one though... Battle-Axe with a Halberd? Mace with a big ol' Tetsubo or Maul? Hecks Yeah!
  13. Just bought the pack. It should work now...

Okay Shadowclone, THESE two had me laughing out loud on my break!
  15. Howdy folks,

As my sig indicates, I have 5 lvl. 50s. More than a few, but fewer than most hard-core gamers. And, since I, like many of you, work during the day and have obligations to family during the weekends, I'm not sure I can GET to my non-50s to benefit from the bonus XP (especially for Sis Psy and the week-long trek through Council and Freakshow).

However, I led a Sis Psy TF yesterday with Beorn, and there were 4 of us who were exemplared 50s and 4 who were more the level-appropriate characters for the TF in the first place.

    We had a blast!

Now, I will admit, the dynamics between the players was great and we all seemed to enjoy the ride, but it was more than that...

The 50s were all talking about heading to do a LGTF or ITF afterwards to grab any needed shards, and the lower level characters were asking questions about the Incarnate system, Cimerora, and generally just being inquisitive and good-natured.

One hour and forty-one mintes later, and I had my Notice. But, I didn't even realize that the TF had taken that long. I enjoyed myself. I tanked throughout and, for some reason, seemed more powerful than a level 25. I have a knockback proc for one of my attacks that is level 35, yet I KNOW I was knocking down mobs with an attack that does NOT inherently have knockback. Also, I have Taunt fully slotted with Perfect Zinger at level 50, and I taunted and several times caused Psionic damage with my taunt.

I thought we lost the bonuses in our IO sets when we exemplared? If so, I didn't. If not, then why complain about the WTF if the only "gimping" is a loss of some powers?
  16. MAN, would THAT be nice! Probably not, but nice to think about nonetheless...
  17. Really?!? No one is going to mention "Please just bear with the terrible puns"?
  18. I am really and truly interested at how to soft cap damage for both the crab and bane builds...

So, to be clear, I respecced my widow and she now has superjump and leadership, but none of the fighting pool. Would I need tough and weave for the crab and/or bane to walk around with relative impunity as my widow has done, or can I just do the double leadership and leave it at that?

    Two Words- Villain Merits...

I never really noticed at first, until I got my rogue crab back from a STF and I thought, AWESOME! Well, I go to change my merits in The Crucible (I forgot), and now I have merits, and I could get something, but Hero/Villain merits are way cooler.

Secondly, becoming a hero/villain means losing your position in a VG/SG and that is something of an anathema to certain players.

I don't think that there will ever be as many villains as heroes, but I don't think it would be a poor use of dev time at all to create some more content to give villains more to do.

I mean, really. ONE new Strike Force to cover the level 30-35 hole that's been there since CoV launch. I don't understand why that's so much to ask.
One the one hand, it is easier to do certain things in CoV, like maxing out a base. 9 TP beacons is WAY easier than 22 for CoH.

Something I would like to see is a third TF/SF in Praetoria that is in the same "space" as Positron or Virgil Tarikoss (i.e.- lvl. 10-15 or 15-20 respectively). Having a three-way cross over story arc that is NOT end game content but foreshadows what they're heading towards would be cool (and, provided the TF/SF/?F is successful, Emperor Cole allows them to succeed, so great is his arrogance/hubris/whatever to show what a jerk he is).

    Just a thought...

Irish, you just made my day!

I pick the huge toon and reduce the shoulder, shorten the legs, reduce the chest, increase the waist and hips, and I STILL don't look like me irl!

6'6" and 390lbs. means I have had my share of baconators my friend!

If you are EVER on Virtue, look for pretty much ANY character with "Beorn" in the name and it'll probably be me. Send me a tell and we will merrily meander through a TF/SF of your choosing!

    Color me pleased!
  21. Speed TF/SFs serve a specific function, like Chinese take-out or fast food Drive-Thru. One doesn't "savor" the $2.99 cheeseburger-gut-grenade-special in the same way one would truly enjoy every nuance and flavor of an expensive sit-down dining experience.

If you have "kill most" in your TF/SF description, then there should be no surprises.

When you have multiple characters at 50 and you are burning through TFs for the Notice of the Well or a Hero 1 DNA sample (or, this past week, both) and you are limited in how much time you can game, then speed is of the essence.

For example, my 2 favorite 50s will probably get their tier 4 Incarnate stuff later today because yesterday I burned through a LGTF then an ITF with one, logged it, and then logged the other on and did the same thing. By the time I was back on the first character, three hours had passed and I could get the Nictus Essence again or the (reduced) merits. The other 50s will get their notice, but I won't have 32 spare shards on each of them for the tier 4, so they shall have to wait. I reckon once the 50s all get their first tier 4, then there will probably be a lull or fewer speed runs until Issue 20 hits.
  22. Ah, if only there was a way to combine the Beast and Martial Arts packs for a "Drunken Monkey Kung Fu" style, complete with emotes, a costume change (falling down, creating a cloud of dust, and getting up in the new costume), and the "jug of XXX" power.
  23. Inviting one's own toons to a personal SG/VG would be awesome.

Also, demoting/promoting toons not online would be necessary as well (since you can't be on two characters at the same time from the same account).
  24. He thought about shedding a single tear once, and the Well of the Furies was the result...

His Animal Pack was released issue 1, WITH bear heads...

He can run all 6 respec Trials at the same time...

    What "soft cap"?...

He uses the Rikti Mother Ship for Frisbee Golf...

His thoughts on Rularuu the Ravager? Two words- "Finger Puppet."

    Lady Grey Pylons

Their purpose, as I see it, is an anchor for Howling Twilight.

You are in Hami, get aggro, die, fall. You are in Hami's perception and so popping a rez is a bad idea.

Your defender/MM/corr with Dark Miasma TPs you to the pylon and uses the pylon for the Res.

Since you are far enough away from Hami, everything should be fine...
